About

Crafted with passion by the dream team that redefined side-scrolling beat 'em ups, Absolum mixes top-of-the-class combat action with modern roguelite elements, bringing all the vibes of the fantasy arcade hits of the past into an immersive adventure set in the original world of Talamh.

Talamh has been shattered by a magical cataclysm caused by ambitious wizards, leaving magic mistrusted by the common folk. Sun King Azra took advantage of this panic, enslaving wizards through his Crimson Order and placing loyal princes to rule over the conquered realms.
As Azra’s forces claim more and more lands, the high enchantress Uchawi and a small group of rebels rise from the shadows, wielding forbidden magic to challenge his oppressive regime and defy his absolute magic power.

Meet the outcast heroes of Talamh, each with their unique fighting style.
From the shadows of Yeldrim, Galandra emerges as an unstoppable force of nature. Her colossal sword strikes with deadly precision, combined with chilling, destructive necromantic powers. Her calm demeanor is a thin veil, barely concealing the furious anger brewing inside her.
Karl is the last free dwarf of Talamh. Armed with an ancestral blunderbuss and his bare fists, he’s a master of close-range brawls and explosive tactics. What he lacks in reach at mid-range, he makes up for with raw strength and quick thinking, making him a stalwart ally in the revolt against Azra's oppression.
During their ordeals, two mysterious heroes will join them on a quest to overthrow the Sun King: Brome, a wizard prodigy on a mission to preserve the future generations of his people, and the enigmatic Cider, a nimble skirmisher in search of answers among the scattered fragments of their own soul.

Absolum combines Dotemu and Guard Crush’s mastery in beat ‘em up gameplay with Supamonks' best-in-class art and animation. With its fast-paced action and endless replayability, Absolum will challenge you with multiple paths to explore and unpredictable encounters for a new experience each time you play.

Take down Azra’s elite guard with a mix of rapid combo chains and spellcasting powers, unleashing moves that feel as raw as they are strategic. Use magical counters and rare items to turn the tide in your favor and experience a combat system that demands skill and timing, pushing you to craft new strategies at every run to wreak havoc among the enemy ranks.

Lead the uprising against Azra's regime as a lone hero, or team up with a friend on your couch or online. Combine your elemental powers and synchronize your attacks into incredible chained combos!
The world of Talamh is an intricate tapestry brimming with secrets, stories, and betrayals. From the majestic mines of Grandery to the lush forests of Jaroba, every step of your odyssey will be accompanied by a magnificent soundtrack by composer Gareth Coker (Ori, Halo Infinite, Prince of Persia), with collaborations from Yuka Kitamura (Dark Souls, Elden Ring), Mick Gordon (Doom Eternal, Atomic Heart), and more!

A great mix of beat-em-up and rpg elements with rng of different perks per run. Absolum makes for a great co-op game with lovely animation in its art style, fluid combos, and hefty replayability. My only regret is it isn't 4-player co-op! Solid game for folks craving something akin to Dragon's Crown, with plenty of DnD feel to it.
Absolum is a great beat-em-up first and a Roguelite second. If you really like the movement and skill of comboing in beat-em-ups and enjoyed previous work by this team with Streets of Rage 4, then you will love Absolum. If you want a Roguelite with 100s of hours of content and upgrades and builds like HADES or HADES II, then you might... not like Absolum. While this game has a solid variety of routes, enemies, bosses, and quests, it does not take that long to see everything in the game and functionally 100% both achievements and meta progression. You do have a score of course and combos, so you can play the game for score-chasing just like arcade beat-em-ups, but that's it at that point. Gameplay: very traditional up/down move in the third axis and there is a dedicated jump button. You have 4 types of defensive options: you can physically evade the hitbox by jumping over it or dashing along the 3rd axis, you can use the Dash button itself to try and "Deflect" attacks or projectiles (this does not work on Red attacks), you can time your Skill or Arcana to "Clash" with attacks or projectiles (harder timing but counters Red attacks), or you can be invincible during moves which have i-frames like your throws. Enemies will surround you, spam projectiles, cheap shot you, and wall combo you. You are expected to engage with all of the defensive mechanics and work to not get hit. The art is absolutely fantastic with genuinely gorgeous spritework that conveys a lot of speed and impact. The soundtrack by Gareth Coker is some of his best work ever and is constantly excellent. There's no bad boss theme, no bad area theme, and most themes are dynamic with sections that play based on your progression through a stage: so they ramp up in intensity. This is one case where I think a game is worth the price just for the soundtrack. The story is whatever, characters are fine and the writing/voice acting are pleasant enough, but I personally was not that invested. I was here for the gameplay and the music. Absolum is not a must-buy for everyone, but it's pretty easily in the top 3 beat-em-ups on Steam right now. So if that's your favorite genre, then it is a must-buy for you. Also online co-op works flawlessly with everyone I've tried it with.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Jogo muito bom. Com proposta muito bem colocada.
As someone who never had any strong feelings towards beat em ups, i was not ready to love this game as much as i did. I've been playing it with a friend and we have had a fantastic time with this game. The gameplay feels good even to novices like us, there's a few different fun builds you can do with the different charatacters, and a lot of fun enemy variance that keeps you plenty engaged. The factors that really elevated this game for me though was the writing. The world and general plot are engrossing enough, but these characters are so good. There is quite a bit of dialouge between the playable characters with the ones you're actively playing as and the ones that are resting and these moments are always a treat. If your playing with another person sometimes you'll start talking to one character but they're actually having dialogue with your partner's character and that'll get a little disorienting at times, i wish there was a lil symbol that showed who should or can start talking to characters that want to talk. Also who ever is p1 (the player hosting) theyre character will get interactions with some bosses, and these always play out the same, so although i think comparing the voice acting and dialog options to hades is pretty apt for kind of having that vibe, it doesn't quite hit the expanse of hades. The music I'll briefly say is just very good. It ranges from delightful music in the background to, ♥♥♥♥ this is a bop. My biggest grievance with this game is connection problems and bugs. Me and my friend didn't have a lot of problems with this, and problems originate on my end as my internet is prone to randomly dip here and there, but if it did have a big dip this leads to a full disconnect which basically ends our run and we have no way of reconnecting mid run. We also ran into an issue of through one of the augments that i had applying to some enemies at the wrong time we created immortal goblins that made it so we couldn't progress soft locking us out of a run. I'd love to see an update in the future that allows the host to reinvite the previous player back for instances with connection issues or bugs that don't end with us just having to restart a full run. Overall though, Absolum has been a great time, and with currently just under 20 hours I honestly think the base prive is very fair with the quality of this game.
Absolute banger
Got to say the game is one of kind and the comminty help beyond my words, 10 out of 10, thanks for all who support until the end game.
The art style is great. I like the gameplay and variety. Controls are very good. The characters are good however only half the roster match my play style. Enemies are varied and its best to learn their patterns. I'm not a roguelite fan yet the implementation here at least adds some variety; although, it does get tedious choosing buffs after awhile. Level design is kinda dull. Story is blabbering and uninteresting skippable content. The game constantly increases the difficulty the longer you play. So if you just want a mindless basher this might not be for you unless playing co-op. Online multiplayer matchmaking is very slow but I found no slowdown while playing. I wish this had 4 player co-op. It'd be chaotic but it'd be a fun chaos. I like this game yet I'm in kind of a weird limbo. I only put in an hour into the game, increasing my characters to level six. The challenge was very fair and I owned my failures. But then I beat the game on multiplayer with another player who was at 100% god mode (they had so many unlocked abilities). Beating the game was fun. Going back to single player to I realized all the enemies are now so much more of a challenge. The difficulty level has really ratcheted up. It's not that enjoyable unless you like to perfect dodge/parry from half a dozen aggressive enemies. I could probably put in more hours to master it yet I'd rather have my beat 'em ups just be simpler beat 'em ups. I imagine that playing co-op would still be a lot of fun. I feel like after my 3 hours into the game I'm pretty much done. Since I bought the game on sale I feel like I got my money's worth. I can only really recommend this if you're planning to play along with a friend. Buy only on deep discount.
Haven't quite finished the game yet but first impressions are quite good. Rollback feels great and the combat is simple but with enough complexity thrown in to be rewarding to dive into. Some of the builds I've gotten have made me wish it was more like a DMC game where you're building a permanent moveset, but it does enough with the roguelite format that I'm not *too* upset that I don't get to keep the divekick.
