Dabei ist es natürlich wichtig, dass dir Gegenstände merken kann und wo du diese schon mal in einer anderen Stelle zuvor gesehen hast, da du immer wieder andere suchen musst, da diese im ganzen Raum versteckt sind. Dazu müssen die verschiedenen Rezepte genauestens befolgt werden. Es gibt auch Verstecke, wo erst einmal gefunden werden müssen, aber diese lohnen sich auf jedenfall da diese besondere Gegenstände beherbergen, die widerum für die Herstellung sehr wichtig sind. Dein Abenteuer in Abracadabrew kannst du entweder alleine oder mit bis zu vier Spielern gleichzeitig erlebt werden. Mir hat beides sehr gut gefallen, aber der Schwiergkeitsgrad bleibt immer gleich, egal für welche Methode ihr euch unterscheidet. TL;DR - My daughter is 6yrs old and this is her new favorite game for daddy-daughter time. She enjoys unlocking new witches the most. Enabling multiplayer took us a while to figure out. You have to select X/A on a controller before doing so on the keyboard. After that we were both able to play together. Play consists of seeing what items are needed to brew the next potion and finding them hidden among different containers on the screen. For a given game, the items remain in a consistent spot so it becomes a memory game. The most important element of the game is cooperation; there are no individual scores so players are working together to brew each potion with appropriate items in the correct order. It is a race against the clock but sufficient time for a 6yr old to enjoy the session without feeling frustrated.

You might make a few mistakes here and there; people might turn into frogs or any sort of strange thing if they drink a potion that is brewed incorrectly. But don’t worry about this, because you’ll learn from the best witches in the Kingdom. The real issue is that the mad King wants to get rid of all witches in his Kingdom. So, my new apprentice, let’s Abracadabrew! Abracadabrew is a local co-op/base memory game developed and self-published by Miju Games on the 15th of October 2020 on the Steam platform. The game consists of three chapters with 26 levels, including 3 boss fights. As you start the game, only the first level is available to you, and your goal is to manage to win a minimum of one gold star out of three to unlock the next level, all the way through the game. In each of the levels, you’ll also have a time limit, and the minimum number of potions required to win one, two or three golden stars varies as well. It might be easy if you play by yourself in the first few levels of chapter one but be prepared to sweat a little if you want to bring home the three golden stars in each level. If you play with friends or family members, the chaos will probably start from the get-go as you have to communicate with each other to create each of the potions. You see, to create the perfect potion, you have to place in the cauldron the exact ingredients in the correct order to brew that potion. And each potion has different elements and quantities; it varies from 3 to 8 parts. Can you imagine four witches running around, picking up ingredients and putting them in the correct order in the cauldron? Some will definitely lose their broomsticks! To make it slightly harder, you and your friendly witches will have to check 6 or 7 cabinets or boxes (you can’t miss them as they will be highlighted in white when you touch them) each of which contains four items. So, there are a minimum of 24 ingredients for which you’ll need to remember the location. Well, if you’re like me, you’ll be thinking after your first game, “I know where the ingredients are!” Wrong, wrong and wrong again! As each game is randomly generated, you’ll find that each ingredient has been moved or that new ones have been introduced. Plus, a few weird things will happen during each game. A gust of wind or cloud of bats will appear as you play. The wind will push you witches back towards the other side of the screen while bats will block your view by flying across the screen. Other events (that I’ll leave you to discover) will occur, and when they do, remember that you must place your witches on the white circle that just appears on the level and click on the action button in rapid succession like a mad wizard to make them disappear. In the boss’s fights, you have to create a certain number of potions within the time limit to defeat a big spider. What you need to be careful of here is the webs, as the spider will spin them periodically throughout the level. If you get hit by one, your witches will be stunned for a few seconds. It is a fun little game to play, either by yourself, with friends or with family members. I think if you have children between 7 and 12 years of age, you’ll have a blast playing together! You’ll also have several skins to unlock, which is always a bonus. It is a bit repetitive after a while, as most games of this genres are. The most important point is that you’ll have fun playing it, and you might finally remember where you lost your car keys tomorrow morning! The graphics are cute, and you can play with a keyboard or gamepad, which is recommended. The game has been translated into 10 languages, and you also have a leader board if you are of a competitive nature. Summary: Another truly cooperative game. Work as a team of up to 4 to find specific ingredients of a certain kind and color (i.e. blue feather) and drop them in a pot in the right order to make potions and collect points and perform "below par" to beat best scores. A family-friendly theme, accessible premise and straight-forward mechanics make it a great game to jump in with a few friends or as a family. ✔️Family-friendly. Appropriate and accessible for all ages. ✔️Shared/Split Screen Co-op with FULL controller support. ✔️Fully compatible with Steam Link. ✔️Truly cooperative. Similar to games like Overcooked and Lovers In A Dangerous Spacetime, this game requires players to work together in order to win or lose entirely as a team. There are no PvP competitive elements at all. ✔️Simple controls mean even non-gamers quickly catch on and can keep up. ✔️Short stages make for an easy game to pass on to the next player. Great for short bursts of play, or for getting more than 4 people involved with handoffs between stages. ✔️Easy to jump-in and jump-out. It doesn't demand much of your time, but is always good to fill in gaps between other entertainment. ✔️Replayability as players look to move up the leaderboard, or beat their own scores and "win gold" by beating the most difficult par for a stage. ✔️Especially great for helping younger audiences learn about object attributes. This includes quickly finding objects with certain objects, or those that do not have certain attributes. ✔️ Polished, with no bugs we've observed. ❌Art-style is well done but may turn some away with its simplistic style. The worst-case during gameplay is distinguishing leaves from feathers which has tripped up many during our runs. Cozy little memory/co-operation game that ramps up with difficulty over time, the final couple levels are very hard for two people. Abracadabrew was a fun experience that while short doesn't drag on and left a good impression. Sweet game to play with your partner and make potions together.

It is a kind of memory game, you have 3+ ingredients and need to pick them up from cupboards etc whose content you only see if you go there and open them. You must put them into the cauldron in the right order and a timer is running. To finish the level you need to manage to make a certain number of potions that way. I found it very boring and repetitive. Not sure what the incentive should be to keep playing. Some levels you receive a new outfit for your witch ... maybe that works for a 4 year old but otherwise? It works very badly with keyboard. Says under controls that right shift and string would work as would arrow buttons. In my case they don't, making an awkward layout even more cumbersome.
