About

Abnormality is a realistic co-op ghost-hunting horror game where you investigate abandoned, restricted locations, gather evidence, identify the ghost, and survive the hunt.

Investigations begin in daytime, giving you time to explore, learn the map, and prepare before the danger truly begins.
As night falls, the atmosphere shifts, visibility drops, and the ghosts begin to emerge.
Unlike slower ghost-hunting games, Abnormality lets you actually sprint, allowing for real chases where movement, awareness, and quick decisions matter.
When darkness takes over, night vision becomes your last resort.

A classic ghost-hunting experience featuring 20 different ghost types, each with their own behaviours, personality, known traits, and hidden traits.
Ghosts vary in speed, hunt duration, aggression, and more, meaning no two investigations feel exactly the same. Figure out the ghost type, survive the hunt, and make it out alive.
A sequel to Investigation, where you enter after previous investigators have already identified the haunting.
Set in the same locations, but far more terrifying, this intense gamemode is not for the weak. Exorcise the ghost by uncovering its trauma, learning why it will not let go, and pray you do not get a demon.
More gamemodes are planned, including Thief Mode and Survival Mode.

Create a character that feels personal with detailed customization options including appearance, body features, skin tone, clothing, and more.
Lobby customization is also planned to arrive in a future update.

Horror is the heart of Abnormality.
Every location is fully abandoned, meaning no electricity, no working lights, and a much more unsettling atmosphere. Ghosts are highly active, intense, and unpredictable, with different traits that make each encounter feel terrifying in its own way.
Expect jumpscares, screen shake, being dragged away from your friends, and even possession mechanics planned for the future.
The game is dark, set in creepy environments, and audio has been a major focus to make every moment feel more immersive and disturbing.

Investigate a variety of haunted locations, including houses, a manor, a chapel, a motel, and maps that change the flow of gameplay, such as a location consumed by a blizzard.
Each location also contains hidden story elements that reveal why the ghost exists and what happened before you arrived.

Use the ghost-hunting tools players know and love, alongside new additions designed to make every investigation more immersive and intense.
Investigate by day. Survive the night.

Another Phasmo-slop with the typical evidence problems, i.e.:

Ghost constantly opens doors but no fingerprints. The ghost type was with UV light evidence (fingerprints).
EMF clocked at 5 when entering the house for the first time. The ghost type was without EMF 5 evidence.
The game also has some other flaws, such as:

The typical Anti-Aliasing issue with SMAA, TAA & TSR making the game really washed and pixelated which can cause headaches. Only solution: setting it to FXAA.
After the first hunt my screen turned black & white for the remainder of the round.
There are so many jumpscares and events that the game loses its creepiness and becomes very predictable.
On specific areas you can't stand up from crouching.
The ghost sometimes spawns only in one room but the ghost room was somewhere else.
The only reason why I'm giving this game a bad review is that the game's fundamentals aren't working correctly. I don't care about the other issues, they can get fixed quite easily, but if I play two rounds and in both rounds the ghost gives me three crystal-clear evidences and I choose the shown ghost and that's not the right answer, well, then I get pissed. I hope this will get fixed on release cuz I like to play ghost hunting games as a side-hustle. I hope the best, GL!
"We suggest you play the tutorial because this is not like other investigation games." You are greeted with a message like this AFTER you click on tutorial, by the way. Also, it is complete BS - it DOES play like every other ghost investigation game, and does a worse job at it. Movement and controls are clunky. Camera clips through walls and doors in movement. There isn't much point to a ghost room you can repeatedly verify if ghost writing and UV almost always happen outside of that room. On that note, Djinn and Revenant might as well be twins with their behaviors. If you're considering this game and thinking "hm, I dunno, it kinda looks like Phasmo", you'd be right, and it isn't special enough to warrant sticking with it.
Stay clear of this game for your own sake. DO NOT BUY!!
Highly highly recommend this game. Its super scary, extremely replayable, the maps are fantastic, no glitches I've found yet in 8 hours of gameplay. When choosing a spooky game for you and your friends, don't pick dead Phasmaphobia that has been abandoned by lazy cash and grab devs, pick Abnormality
At first the game seemed promising. However, after playing for less than 2 hours, I've yet to complete a single map. The volume is incredibly loud and unbalanced. It overwhelms the experience. The ghosts seem to be over powered and attack with in just a couple of minutes, if not less. The mechanics are potential, yet the execution leaves much to be desired. As an active Phasmophobia player, I was disheartened to have yet seen a single active lobby. The immersion is often broken by the sound, and the constant inability to gather any evidence before being assaulted by the ghost within just a few minutes.
The game is garbage. It does nothing new than what has already been done in games before it. It comes across as a simple cash grab, acting as if it's something new when it's actually not. Chat has to be constantly held in order to talk and there is no option to change it to toggle vs hold. What happens on my screen doesn't show up on my friends PC. Do not purchase.
Yes pretty nice game. but I have to play with Chudius and he sells every game so if they ban him I Will be very happy. Although it needs to be more scary.
That one comment from tiktok did not lie when they said that the ghost can drag your ass around the place. I was recently playing this game with my friend and the ghost dragged me right to the main entrance and as soon as I left the house, the ghost started hunting with my friend still being inside XDD I guess the ghost liked me and decided to spare me 10/10
I got too scared. Gives demonologist vibes, very dark, very scary. The best type of ghost hunting games, actually scary. games like phas do the same events over and over, too chill, this one keeps you on your toes. can't wait to play more
