Abigor is a third-person action RPG where you play as Alric, a demon hunter at Alastor Academy who must overcome incredible odds to protect his school from demonkind. Combat features traditional melee combat with dodging, but also a magic stance system which changes the players attacks.

Literally the greatest game to grace this platform. The team behind the game are obviously very bright, and I believe that with a good budget, the scope of this game would be even better than it already is. The story is told through cutscenes, which are only held back from the notoriously costly animation/rendering processes for moving cutscenes. The combat is tight and challenging, the different sword stances are unique and cool as hell, and there's even hidden unlockables in the form of upgrades. The bosses are challenging and fun--- and each have some surprises in store during the fight. This game has enthralled me and I am set on becoming the #1 Abigor speedrunner in the world 10/10 would sacrifice my firstborn to Abigor

Actually pretty good for a student project. The drawn cut scenes are really well done. I also like how the boss Lilith is like a nod to Malenia from Elden Ring with their moveset However for some reason this game basically forced my GPU to uninstall it's drivers twice.. not fun

Incredible game. Fights are genuinely challenging, and the story is highly engaging. Artwork and graphics are beautiful, and I very much enjoy the voice acting. If you're not playing Abigor, what ARE you doing? 10/10 GAME OF THE YEAR
Looks and feels like one of those cheap 3D hentai games, except you don't get to see t*ts.
An entertaining little romp through the creative minds of burgeoning game devs, that'll only cost you a couple hours of your time at most (I completed it in 93 minutes). There's no penalty for dying other than going back to the previous in-level checkpoint, so take your time observing the levels, or you might miss some little easter eggs! The most difficult part, really, is getting used to the controls and the lack of impact from attacks, both to and from the player. My only gripe is the parry move having a windup, making it only useful against the slowest enemies who have the same windup time, and the regular grunts don't have said 'tell.' Anyway, it's a fun little game with plenty of potential; and a friend of mine also helped work on Abigor, so I'm contractually obliged to recommend it lol.
Has potential, all the things are there to make a great game after some more polish. Some annoying bugs are *Floatty running/walking (Maybe try root animations instead) *Maybe give basic enemies running attacks *Lack of impact on hits *lack of enemy reaction to hits *lack of enemy sound *disable attack colliders on death (countless times i died cause a dead enemy fell near me) *Heavy attacks *dodge sounds
I don't normally play TP soul-like games, due to them being too long and 'grindy' for my liking and I feel like the dark gritty atmosphere is overdone, but I came across this game from Iron Pineapple's recent video, so I thought I'll give this one a go as it is a short student project. Much like what was said in the video, you can tell the student puts a lot of effort and passion into this project, considering the time constraint, technical skill, and finances. I even love the simple premise of human vs demon told in hand-drawn cutscenes alongside the good amateur voice acting. You can tell whoever did it were having fun, especially with the screaming. Yes, the move sets like the parrying, normal attacks, and the lightning ability feel stiff and janky that I just resort to dodging and spamming the spinning Serpent move, but oh boy was it a fun experience of playing a half-demon, half-human edgy boy. I hope the students are proud of themselves and move to do great things in the world.
Skipping all of the dialogue and cutscenes will not only decrease your playtime by 25%, but also save you from sitting through yet another generic high-fantasy anime plot. You can run past all of the enemies on the first few levels, aside from the bosses, all of whom are massive sponges that use the same attacks over and over again. If you don’t have all the upgrades by the time you reach the final boss, you should either give up or pray for luck, because no level of skill is going to get you through the unrefined mess of attack animations and janky hitboxes come phase 4.
