ABE VR is an intense experience that recreates the horrifying story about a misguided robot seeking the unconditional love of humans…at whatever cost.

A short 8 minute experience, creepy and well worth trying without being traumatisingly scary. Light philosophical horror in a seated experience.
While short and not really scary enough, it tells an interesting story (though short and simple), and it's a free game for VR that does the job it set out to do.The best part of the experience for me was definitely how well they portrayed ABE, the psycho killer robot. His cold expressionless face and rigid movements definitely made me feel like I was being studied by some calculating machine, while also giving him enough character to be interesting. You won't be blown away but I can't think of one reason not to get this.

I mean its free, graphics are top notch, as is the voice acting. But its just... lacking. The whole game is: you spawn strapped in a chair next to some medical instruments and he comes, he monologues for 7 minutes and its over... The dialogue is great, ambient is ok, pretty creepy... but there is nothing... else? i was expecting the curtains to drop and show something that wowed me... but it never comes... All in all a bit underwhelming, and its 2gb so quite "heavy" for such a short experience. If i could i would give a neutral recommendation because production value is through the roof, but i cant give a neutral review, so i have to lean on the negative because its just not an app id recommend.
I get it yet I Don't
Let's be clear, Steam is at fault here, not this "game." There's a couple things wrong with steam, but for beginners, what satisfies the requirements to be able to be sold on steam? I can't seem to find the information but I do know this. For you to be able to review a game, without at least 5 minutes of gameplay. If a game can be beat or completed within 5 minutes, does that mean you can't just write a review? Apparently so. If a game requires at least 5 minutes to write a review, and less than 2 hours of gameplay to return it, we have a bit of a situation then. Games with linear gameplay are at a disadvantage, if the story is short, sweet, and to the point. So there's a standard that I do for myself. I will play a game a minimum of 2 hours, before writing my review and only after I've gotten every achievement available.
HOWEVER
For the first time ever (not this game in particular but as of lately) I've been running into a pattern, maybe it's the gang-stalkers in my mind, but A lot of the free games on Steam tend to have less than 3 hours of available game-play. So at least from what it would seem, if the game doesn't have enough of a stretch time in it, it's not sold for a price. Peculiar though as games with an infinite play-style like old arcade games, can go either way. Meaning, and this is the big one. A lot of "games" for VR are really experimental things right?
So why the bad Review?
Consider that this "game" really just an extended cut-scene at worst, at best horribly miscatalogued and is just a short horror film. So for a 7(ish) minute movie, I had to watch this thing several times over, I kinda just left it running after the first 10 run throughs.
I have a type, and that type is homicidal robot
Hayat VR ı olana güzel.
