P. S. If you have difficulties in the walktrough, this guide will be very useful: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3561496240
The Roots of Evil or How the Hotel Hazbin Came to Life
The author honestly admits that this is his crappy work from 2015 — a short, free piece of nonsense. The plot is super overdone: some Norman Chambers lost his mind after his beloved died, woke up in a gloomy hotel, and now has to wander endless corridors looking for notes and a way out. In reality, it’s just a typical relic of the mid-2010s, which somehow got hyped among YouTubers back then. I personally found out about this game through The Brian Maps: https://youtu.be/Ib9fal8chQI?si=frGjY2FDMXhvNS3E There's no point in criticizing the graphics or shallow content — it's obvious the project is amateur and thrown together last minute. But if, by some miracle, you somehow missed this game when it first came out and decide to try it now, get ready to be 'scared' exactly three times.
First — by a sharp noise at the start, second — by a popping light bulb in the middle. And the final, 'legendary' moment — the credits dedicated to the developer's deceased hamster (or guinea pig) named T-Bag, followed by a jump scare with a sound that seems like it was recorded by the developer on the cheapest mic possible.
The game has neither decent puzzles nor any kind of interesting story. The gameplay is just about picking up a single key and getting through a basic trap. Even a kid could handle it on the first try (and run away from the monster once while holding shift). Sure, it’s free, and it only takes about 5 minutes to finish, but even that time isn’t worth wasting on this empty little game. It’s just a silly throwback with no real value, apart from nostalgia for old YouTube horror videos.
Verdict:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3612049014 [i] P. S. 2x.
For some strange reasons this game crashes after 1 minute of launching... Please fix this :) This is game is short I know...
