Nice tactical combat with unique characters and mechanics. Buggy, and unbalanced, but ultimately fun. Buy it on a discount though.
Aarklash: Legacy is a solid yet underrated tactical RPG with a strong focus on strategy and party management. The combat can feel difficult at first, but once the systems click, battles become really satisfying thanks to the amount of teamwork and ability synergy involved. The story and presentation are fairly average, but if you enjoy challenging tactical combat and don’t mind some AA-game roughness, it’s definitely worth checking out.
This is a great little game; different enough to set is aside from others in the genre and engagingly entertaining. Some characters are a lot stronger than others, but that's half the fun - and gives it replayability as you can have a reasonably different experience (certainly in terms of challenges) but playing the 'back-up' roster.
Very nostalgic of the Warcraft 3 campaign, both in atmosphere and gameplay. I'd be interested in more games from the world of Aarklash. Good: - Rag'narok difficulty really kicks your butt if you're unprepared, very satisfying when you win a difficult encounter Bad: - Loot ends up being very lackluster due to stat combinations
Aarklash: Legacy is a tactical RPG gem, where every battle feels like a strategic puzzle to solve. A great successor to the famous tabletop wargame that fans of the universe will appreciate!
Archaic, too zoomed in view, no hotbar for abilities so that you don't need to switch between characters to use abilities, a equipment system so shallow it feels redundant and other problems that just makes it clunky to play.
I really tried to like this game and I gave a chance to it, but this game not for me. I think the battle system is too slow.
