Our dog heroine and dog best friend remind me a lot of Sara and Joe from YTTD/Kimi Ga Shine. And much like Sara from YTTD,
interesting things happen to Syd's mentality if she doesn't have the moderating influence of Max.
I came for the cute dogs, but left with existentialist and class based nightmares. A Summer with the Shiba Inu is a very good, and surprisingly, thrilling visual novel. I highly recommend playing it!
I am still not 100% sure of what I am playing, but I am sure that I am a time traveling Shiba Inu that will save the entire world from convergence. I am a mass murderer, broke the space time continuum, and with the help of my friends I WILL save our reality! No longer will there be good dogs or bad dogs. Just dogs. And that is the kind of world I can definitely get behind.
A really great and story about dogs with plenty of social commentary! Also dogs. So many dogs
This game was certainly....different. The story line isn't cute at all and I wouldn't say this is a game for children. The story line is pretty mature borrowing ideas from the Hunger Games and other stories involving cyber reality and there seems to be some kind of mysticism or supernatural involved (you'll learn closer to the end of the game). I got this game on a sale, but even at $8.99 I'd say it's worth the price. There's plenty of story. There's more to read than there is to interact with, so there must be key decisions that lead to one of three endings. Similar to Hatoful Boyfriend or VA-11 Hall-A there isn't a lot of animation, but there's plenty to enjoy once you immerse yourself in the story. If you need to see a little bit more before you decide to purchase the game, then you are welcome to look up my live streams of this game on YouTube. You're only going to see one ending on my channel, but I recommending playing the game all the way through for yourself to see what ending you unlock.
A Summer with the Shiba Inu is an absolutely breathtaking game. I won't lie, Shiba Inu's are my favourite dog breed, I initially bought the game because of that reason but I got more than I bargained for. I love story based choices games, they are one of my favourite genre of games, so once I got started I was hooked. This games story is amazing, I was itching to keep playing until I finished, the artwork was beautiful, and the music was perfectly fitted to the game. What makes it even better is I can keep playing, revisiting until I am able to get the other endings than the one I ended up getting. 10/10 I cannot wait to play future games by the developer! I'm definitely going to be backing the kickstarter!
I didn't know anything about this game going into it. I thought this game would just be a silly dog game...
Essential title for VN/dog enthusiasts
