Did you think you'd win with a snap of your fingers? Did you think you'd see a crew as a number? Did you think you'd gorge without fear of judgements? But, sir, you're not in the Royal Navy. The pirate's life is a life of dreams. And it's precisely because we have a shitty life that we have dreams.

That's pretty much the only reason I had to stop wasting more time on this game. This game has potential and some fun ideas that simply failing to reach far enough.
Really excellent concept, really the way games should be! Full immersive pirate adventure simulation.
It's a simple but fun pirate game. I would recommend it, if you like to menage a crew, and sail a ship.
Its nice. At the beginning hard to understand but then it have a nice deepness of crew management and surviving. I understand the decision to make the fights with typing and it feels fresh and fun. Its really fun to see your crew growing in experience and you have a bond with them after a while and take care of them :-) I love it! Thanks!
Well, no. This game is not a "hidden gem" as someon here might say. It COULD be pretty solid ship management sim, IF developers would put a bit more care into this. Two things plague it: metric ton of micromanagement and horrendous interface. It's easy to see that those amplify each other, making gameplay absolutely horrible. The clearest example is assigning sailors to postions. For combat positions it's easy. There is a screen before the combat where you see all your sailors and assign them all roles at once. For non-combat positions - you HAVE to click them one by one. And they often stand behind each others (especially machinist guys - two of them in tiny room). So you have to do... pixel hunting. An yes. You have almost zero need to reassign combat roles and constantly have to reassign non-combat ones. In the end it's absolutely terrible experience I cannot recommend to anyone.
I would really want to give this game a positive review just for the attempt, but I would lie if I said I'll pick it up ever again, and it doesn't seem the dev is planning on any sequels, so not much to support here anyway I assume? The game as it is would've been much better as a text novel. Mainly because the current 2d design doesn't have much sense of style to it, and in such cases, it can be better to leave the graphics to the player's imagination. All in all, it's definitely a fresh look at Sid Meier's Pirates, only inferior in pretty much all the other design choices. Might as well get yourself a Sega emulator and just play the OG
