Did you think you'd win with a snap of your fingers? Did you think you'd see a crew as a number? Did you think you'd gorge without fear of judgements? But, sir, you're not in the Royal Navy. The pirate's life is a life of dreams. And it's precisely because we have a shitty life that we have dreams.
Assistant ship captain
Pirate management.
STORY
Missing.
GAMEPLAY
Gameplay features economy management and pirate combat. We have activities: - Make sure that the ship has supplies in order. - Send pirates to work while sailing. - Duplicate the captain's commands during the battle. - Monitor the implementation of the pirate code. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2831869017 Very interesting battles. First, we fire at the enemy ship from cannons for a long time, and then there may be boarding. Consider the pros and cons of the game, sum up.
PROS:
+ Nice graphics. + Interesting economic part. + Great battles.
WHAT CAN BE BOTH A PLUS AND A MINUS:
+- You'll have to memorize a rather large pirate codex. +- In my opinion, the battles are a bit long.
CONS:
- I didn't like the background music. There is no music at all, then some screams.
CONCLUSIONS
A good simulator of the life of pirates, and not only the combat part, but also the economic one. As well as many incredible adventures. "a pirate quartermaster"'s description makes it sound like a very different game from the one you play, it makes combat seem like a far smaller share of the game than it actually is and combat is a typing minigame - something also mentioned only once in the middle of the product page. This also is why I ultimately cannot recommend it. When I bought it myself what I wanted was a game that was focussed on the economical and social aspects and that combat is more or less an afterthought, one you at most spend about 10% of the gametime on, and one that is less typing practise and more MS Excel. Overall I feel like the product that is presented on the storefront is very different from the product you can purchase. I highly recommend you to download the demo first to see if you actually enjoy this game rather than buy it straight, as you most likely - just like me - find a very different game than what the description makes you believe.
I wouldn't have gotten the game if I knew it was a such a heavy typing game. All combats are done via typing (copying) the command yelled by the caption. If you are not into typing lesson, or a slow at typing, avoid this game.

Follow The Cpt Froggy Club Curator Page for plenty more!
A Pirate Quartermaster: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What do you reckon the life of a pirate would have been like? The first thing that comes to my mind is . . . probably a short life. Yes, you might have made a substantial amount of wealth, but banks don't really allow pirates to open accounts (unless you have a Suisse bank account, and let's face it, it’s a long journey from the Caribbean to the coast of Europe and then a long walk to Switzerland. Nah, not really an option there!). The best way is to find a remote Island, dig a big hole and place all your wealth in it. And because you are always drunk, you need to mark the map with a big red cross where you left your goods (so nobody can find it 😉) but most importantly to remind you where you buried it. But the most important factor to becoming a wealthy pirate is sailing under a captain who has a fearless and dangerous reputation, along with a quartermaster who can keep the crew together while navigating the seas and relaying the captain’s orders during naval battles. Good news, you are now the new quartermaster, as the previous one fell out of favour with the captain. Best of luck in a Pirate Quartermaster. A Pirate Quartermaster is a turn-based/simulation/management with typing mechanisms (in combat), and side-scrolling elements developed and self-published by Ivan Armandy on the 2nd of October 2020 on the Steam platform. Before launching a game, you have to select either being the son of a slave, the son of a butcher or a prostitute’s daughter. Each of these characters has an excellent description of who there are and what sort of abilities they are good at. Then you'll need to decide on which level of difficulty you want to play the game, from Easy, Normal or Difficult. If your typing skills are not that flashy, the easy difficulty might be a good option as you use your mouse to click on the orders during battles. Otherwise, if you have decent typing skills, the normal difficulty will probably be a good choice to start your first game. You can also choose to play the Tutorial, which is, by the way, very good, before going solo. After signing the Pirate Code, you'll be in charge of the daily management of the crew and ship. Each day is divided into six watches, and each watch represents a turn. Now, if you have a crew of eight, half of them will be working and the others will be resting, and this will be reversed in the next watch; the crew who worked previously will rest while the others work. So, in your first two watches, you'll basically set up your crew. You'll also have to decide which post each of your crew members will take during the battle and which weapon. But before ringing the bell, which will activate the next watch, you must look at the world map. There you'll find information on the wind, your speed and how far you will travel after ringing the bell. You will also see the status of your relations with the other 5 factions, as well as personal goals. The other thing you can do is to look at your ship’s compartments (some of which will be empty and others utilised), and the placement of your cannons, all of which can be re-arranged at any time. What is essential on this screen is to keep an eye on your food, water and coal (if your boat is powered by steam. Don't forget that on every 6th watch, you have to distribute rations and water to your crew. Otherwise, the morale will start to drop and you might end up with the beginning of a mutiny that you and your captain would rather avoid. Sometimes you'll have an event popping up at the start of a watch, such as a group of dolphins passing by, which will increase your crew's morale. Your crew might spot a whale, and by killing it, you'll add food to your cargo, which is always good. Alternatively, you might have a dispute between crew members, or even worse, one of your crew members may have stolen from another, or you may discover that a crew member is actually a woman disguised as a man. Oh oh. . . you have to remember the Pirate Code you and your crew members signed before being allowed on board. That's right, you have to sentence the culprit(s), and if it is the wrong sentence, not only will you disappoint the captain, but the morale of the crew will go down the barrel. The action part of the game comes with the combat phases, where you'll have to write as fast as possible and correctly the Captain’s orders. What's funny is that you only have 10 orders to write and relay to your crew members during the battle. But what is difficult is that you have this crazy Captain who spells out orders rather rapidly, and due to this fact, he keeps mumbling and the only way to understand what he wants you to do is to read his orders. It's really fun and chaotic at the same time as you and the enemy vessel exchange cannonballs (if you type the order correctly and quickly) as they get closer to one another. Sometimes the enemy ship will manage to get away. However, if you follow the Captain’s orders to the letter, you'll be able to catch up with the enemy vessel and get aboard, which will start the side-scrolling battle between both crews. If you win the battle, you can choose to take over their ship or just take some of the loot (assuming you have enough free compartments on your ship). If you lose, your ship will be sunk, and you'll restart with another one, either at a town or at sea. You can stop at towns where you can trade goods and refill your water tank. And some of the crew members will need to let loose at the pub. There you can also hire new crew members as you might have lost a few either during battles or through diseases, or you might have to kill a few at sea for disobeying the Pirate Code. I really like this game because each time you start a game, everything is randomly generated (the vessel, the map and the crew), and the Pirate Code rules change. This all combined makes this game unique. The graphics are pretty good, and the mumbling pirate talk is quite funny and creates a great atmosphere for this game. It's a well-balanced game and it also has excellent replay-ability, offering an easy difficulty level for people who don't have good typing skills. Only two languages at the present are English and French. Positive: ~~~~~~ + Nice graphics + Thorough tutorial + Interesting concept and blend of mechanisms + Fun combat phases with hectic typing + Well thought out management system + Good replay-ability + Achievements Negatives: ~~~~~~~~ - No trading cards as yet - Is repetitive after a while Manage your ship and crew. Pass the captain’s orders onto your crew during battle by typing commands correctly and as fast as you can. A Pirate Quartermaster combines several mechanisms and does it so well. 8/10 Key provided by the developer/publisher for review purposes. Any opinions expressed are entirely my own! No es ningún spoiler.

HISTORIA
A very different game. I'm not that great at typing so I really can't do the fighting very well. I never did figure out how to make the ship go somewhere with the map. I should have gotten some food at port. My sails were damaged but never seemed to get any better when I put my dudes on Rigging duty. I think I would play this if there were an option for skipping the fighting by typing because I just will never be any good at it. So in summation - I like the idea of the game. The tutorial was very good but the game is so complex that I still felt like I didn't know what I was supposed to be doing. The game kept chiding me about looking at the map but I couldn't find anything to do on the map screen except look at it.
My favorite game O.A.T.
This game is truly one of a kind. Instead of the usual approach in pirate games, where you are the captain, and have an authoritarian level of control over them, this game instead plunks you down into the role of a quartermaster, and paints a more realistic picture of pirates, even though it's set in a fictional world. There are many things I like, including, but not limited to, funny characters, funny songs, funny names, and the funny feeling you get when you realize you didn't clean the ship enough, and forgot to change out the water in the scuttlebutt, so now all your sailors will slowly die of various dieseases. Now, this isn't a perfect game. There are some bugs, and I wish the game was a tiny bit more fleshed out. However, the developer is quite active, and is updating the game fairly regularly, so it is bound to get better. In conclusion, 8.5/10
Gem of a game with some of the most unique mechanics I've seen
