Relaxing(?) Golf A Little Golf journey is a simple golfing game where almost everything you do is controlled by the mouse. You don't pick which club to use, and you don't have control over spin, you can only control direction and power, and both of these are directly related to how you move your mouse after clicking on the ball. You can only swing as far as the ground you're on will let you, and the worse terrain you're on, the shorter your shot will be, and the wider your shot can wander (not that it matters too much). To start, the game is pretty easy, and a lot of fun to discover shortcuts you can use to get a lower shot count. It's also a lot of fun to find little secret exits and completing the challenges that some times accompanies them. However, as the game progresses, it turns more and more fiddly to get the score you need to max out your star count. If you're the kind of person who doesn't need to get the top score in the game, this isn't really a problem, as you can complete any level with any number of shots and still move forward. You will be required to get a certain number of stars to get all the way through the game, but it's a relatively low count, so you don't need to do super well on the holes, and it's pretty easy to get 2 stars on each hole if you found the shortcut route. The issue with the max star count is that it begins to require you to complete holes with a little bit of randomness. Essentially, you won't be able to get close enough to the hole to put or fire the ball straight into the hole, and instead you need to get the ball to roll in from a distance away. In the beginning, when this is the case, the green will funnel your ball into the hole, but it soon turns into you needing to figure out the perfect angle for getting your ball in. What this really means, is that you'll have to try and retry holes over and over again, making the first few shots over and over, until you are lucky enough to roll your ball into the hole. This begins to compound as the game progresses as you start needing to do the same thing for the areas that lead up to the green as well as the hole itself. So, you'll have a certain chance at even getting to try that final shot. I began to dislike playing, because I wanted to get the max stars, and it became too annoying to do so. If you don't have this problem, you'll likely enjoy this game, as it's well made, looks nice, has an interesting story, etc. I really think this is a solid game, but due to what it wants you to do for a lot of the main challenges, I just lost interest. In a game like this, I really like to feel like when I play well, I have full control over winning or losing, and I just don't get that feeling here.
as a puzzle game is not very deep and feels slightly repetitive but it's very polished, has many different "biomes", good graphics, chill background music, many secrets to explore and challenges plus it's very cheap and works perfectly on a steam deck
Boring and buggy. Only good thing about the game is some of the art.
An adorable game for lovers of Golf, and anyone looking for a deceptively simple puzzle game with a compelling path to success.
A very calming and fun golf game. Great physics, soothing music. Frustration level relatively minimal thanks to instant unlimited retries. Gets fun and weird toward the end.
Super fun, unique and intuitive golf game with many secrets and challenges! Hidden gem (or blue thing 😉)! Great on Steam Deck!
Chill, quaint experience, but I can't recommend. Neither the gameplay nor the story grabbed me. I found myself continuing to play out of a necessity to complete it, but I realized that I wasn't enjoying my time.
