THIS GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE A GOLF GAME BUT THE ONLY THING THAT RESEMBLES GOLF IS THE LOOK OF THE HOLES. -THERE'S NO SET OF GOLF CLUBS -THERE 'S NO WIND DIRECETION AND SPEED -THERE'S NO PAR FOR EACH HOLE -THE'S NO SUBTRACTING POINTS FOR FOR EAGLES AND BIRDIES -THERE'S NO GANING A POINT OR MORE FOR BOGEY OR WORSE -THERS NO SPECIFIC HOLE LENGH FOR EACH HOLE -THERE'S NO GAUGE FOR FOR SWING POWER -THERES NO AI CHARACTERS TO PLAY AGAINST -THERE'S NO TOURNEMENTS -THE HOLES ARE THE LENGTH OF EXTRA LONG PAR 3-5 TO MINI GOLF HOLES BUT ARE NO WIDER. RATHER THAN PROPERLY SIZED GOLF HOLES. -THE MAXIMUM STRENGTH OF THE SWING IS VERY LOW -REDICULOUS AND ANNOYING PLATORMER SYLE LEVEL SYSTEM THAT KEEPS FROM PLAYING MOST OF THE HOLES REPLACING THE NORMAL GOLF SCORING SYSTEM THAT A GOLF GAME SHOULD HAVE. -EVEN IF YOU KEEP THE BALL ON THE FAIRWAY YOU GET PENALIZED ONE OF THE STARS IN THIS GAME NEED TO PLAY LATER HOLES, THIS IS REALLY STUPID. YOUR ALSO PENALIZED SAID STARS FOR GETTING THE BALL ON THE PUTTING GREEN, APPARENTLY THE BALL HAS BE CHIPPED IN, THIS IS ALSO REALLY STUIPID. - THE WAY THE PUTTING WORKS IS GOOD CASUAL PLAYERS WHO CAN GET FRUSTRATED EASIER WITH PUTTING. BUT THEIR ALSO BE SHOULD BE AN OPTION TO USE A GRID INSTEAD OF THE LINE THAT GOES RIGHT INTO THE HOLE AND NOTHING AT FOR THOSE WHO WANT IT HARDER. - THE BALL DOSN'T GO INTO WATER BUNKERS OR THE RUFF BUT THE PLAYER IS PENALIZED ANYWAY, THIS IS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, THAT VERY WRONG TO DO THE PEOPLE WHO PAY YOU FOR THIS GAME. -I WOULDN'T RECOOMEND THIS UTTERLY STUPID GAME TO ANYBODY. GAMERS BEWARE YOU WILL VERY DISAPPOINTED AND ANNOYED WITH THIS GAME
Overall verdict: A Little Golf Journey is too long and contains too much filler, incl. superfluous "blue thing" collectables. There would be a good game in here if the devs had cut 50% of playtime and a third of the levels in exchange for further polish on the remainder. But as is, I regretted playing the game. 14h is a lot of lifetime spent on something I mostly experienced moment-to-moment as a vague sense of existential dread. If you *do* decide to play this game, turn on Assist mode from the very beginning. It includes an Undo, which makes some of the stars *much* less of a chore to collect. Other comments:

There's tons of text, but it explains *nothing*. And as a result, the ending is unsatisfying and incomprehensible; essentially a non-ending.
Levels: Caverns of Skill was infuriating. You had no idea how long it was going to be; some required moves felt like straight-up glitches, in fact my ball glitched out twice; and I expect quitting out of the level would've necessitated replaying everything again. And then Caverns of Persistence were even worse.
Some of the toughest challenges in the game (e.g. in Caves of Persistence) are timing-based, which was super ew. The Assist mode undo doesn't help with that, either.
The hidden blue things are really dumb. I understand the desire to make players spend more time in levels you put lots of effort into, but these aren't puzzles or anything, just busywork.
I encountered a couple bugs. In one level in Cavern of Wind, one of my hits just didn't work, even though it worked fine in a gameplay video; I was fortunately able to get around this via some Assist mode settings. In level 5-12 Icebergs Ahead, a level full of ice sholes, Assistant undo is broken, because undo sometimes resets you to above water. And finally, there's an insane unfixed bug where the game generates a player.log file that's 0.7-1 GB in size.
Ultimately I can't recommend this game, certainly not for anyone who tries to 100% games.
Can I downvote this game? That's what I was asking myself when I was writing this review. Ultimately the answer is "no", but I will caution that this game has a few aspects that really rub me the wrong way. In short, the game just overstays its welcome in nearly every aspect. I understand that it's a small team, and they wanted to maximize their investment, but sometimes less is more. Each world introduces a new aesthetic, and SOMETIMES adds a new mechanic (e.g. wind) that makes the levels more interesting. But often by the mid-point of a world, I am SO OVER IT. Eleven courses per idea is just too much, especially when the differences between individual levels are indistinguishable. Let me describe it to you this way: Of the game's 100 holes, only a couple stand out as memorable. NOW, take this level of exhaustion and add on top of it a star system for "perfecting" a hole, and "Blue Things" to collect, and put them in front of a completionist. I was STRUGGLING. Now you might be reading this and just saying "well then don't play that way" and, fine, I understand that you don't get it, but the psychology behind this game's design is just unintentionally manipulative. It invites you to get good, puts the star-system front and center, and then just when you think you're done, tosses more trinkets at you to collect. It asks for an inch, then takes a mile. This game would greatly benefit from hiding these additional features until after the player has reached the first ending (and automatically unlocking and enabling the undo function at this point), so that one could see whether it was a game worth 100%-ing, instead of goading the player into getting good and then dragging it out. Something else I could've done entirely without was the "invitations" and "Letters between X & Y," which when I first started playing the game made me think there were meta-secrets hidden throughout the game. But no. They hint towards something that doesn't exist. Obviously I'm writing this review at the end of a frustrating completionist's journey, which very nearly ruined the game for me. If I take a step back and look at what drew me to this game, it's the beautiful art, chill sounds/soundtrack, and above-average golfing mechanics. These are all excellent! I LOVED my first few hours with this game. Ultimately, it's not a bad game. It was just over-engineered in a way that made it un-fun for certain types of players, of which I was one.

A Little Golf Journey - The ultimate put-put golfing experience with the most beautiful scenes! I honestly loved my time playing this game. Although it was tricky finding and hunting all the hidden items on the maps, the design of the world, the challenge to get hole in ones or birdie without any assistance or guides, were great! Loved the sound, music and aesthetic of the game. It just added a ton to the ambience of the game. Highly recommend if you like slow paced golfing with a changing scene every now and then.
Fun zen game that I'm never going to get to the end of because the final level is too damn long
Fun puzzle golf game. Interesting challenges to figure out how to complete the hole in required number of strokes to earn all of the stars, and to find the hidden items. Relaxing...until the final level which is a long sequence of timed shots. I enjoyed it -- except for the last level. ;)
Relaxing(?) Golf A Little Golf journey is a simple golfing game where almost everything you do is controlled by the mouse. You don't pick which club to use, and you don't have control over spin, you can only control direction and power, and both of these are directly related to how you move your mouse after clicking on the ball. You can only swing as far as the ground you're on will let you, and the worse terrain you're on, the shorter your shot will be, and the wider your shot can wander (not that it matters too much). To start, the game is pretty easy, and a lot of fun to discover shortcuts you can use to get a lower shot count. It's also a lot of fun to find little secret exits and completing the challenges that some times accompanies them. However, as the game progresses, it turns more and more fiddly to get the score you need to max out your star count. If you're the kind of person who doesn't need to get the top score in the game, this isn't really a problem, as you can complete any level with any number of shots and still move forward. You will be required to get a certain number of stars to get all the way through the game, but it's a relatively low count, so you don't need to do super well on the holes, and it's pretty easy to get 2 stars on each hole if you found the shortcut route. The issue with the max star count is that it begins to require you to complete holes with a little bit of randomness. Essentially, you won't be able to get close enough to the hole to put or fire the ball straight into the hole, and instead you need to get the ball to roll in from a distance away. In the beginning, when this is the case, the green will funnel your ball into the hole, but it soon turns into you needing to figure out the perfect angle for getting your ball in. What this really means, is that you'll have to try and retry holes over and over again, making the first few shots over and over, until you are lucky enough to roll your ball into the hole. This begins to compound as the game progresses as you start needing to do the same thing for the areas that lead up to the green as well as the hole itself. So, you'll have a certain chance at even getting to try that final shot. I began to dislike playing, because I wanted to get the max stars, and it became too annoying to do so. If you don't have this problem, you'll likely enjoy this game, as it's well made, looks nice, has an interesting story, etc. I really think this is a solid game, but due to what it wants you to do for a lot of the main challenges, I just lost interest. In a game like this, I really like to feel like when I play well, I have full control over winning or losing, and I just don't get that feeling here.
An alright little golf puzzle game, I've certainly played worse.
