Buaf! Super divertidoo.
Interesting game, it's a mix betwen MegaMan power collection after defeated bosses, and Ninja Gaiden with it's annoying enemies spams, spawns and huge kickback after getting hit. Boss fights are ultra unfair, maps are convoluted and packed with unvunerable enemies flying towards you through walls. It's focusing too much to be a frustrating/hard game rather than enjoyable. In my opinion levels are badly designed, good thing there are bunch of checkpoints and unlimited contiunes, but your life will be drained quite fast. My review is NEUTRAL. Game doesn't deserve to get Negative review and Positive either. It's just "okay" game, music, concept and graphics are good. Fun game somehow, but I've expected something else.
This is a really nice retro platformer inspired by 8 bit era! If you like challange then prepare to die! The cool mechanic here that's explained from the first level is the ability to walk both normal and "inverted" gravity levels. I think first two levels are okay but definitely the weakest. Then the game becames so much better! New powers at first are hard to understand but really satisfying to master. The game starts normal but later gets really hard. Final stages will make you try a lot. And the final bosses are so hard. Specially the last one. That tooked me hours of dying again and again. Once you passed the main campaing you unlock NG plus, Boss Rush and a challange level.... I beated NG plus which makes good subtle changes to main campaing. The challange level it's INSANE! An hour long level with only one continue. The difficulty here scales truly to the hardest levels on NES era like Castlevania 3! It tooked me hours to beat and I end up sweating a swearing A LOT! Overall it's a really good extra! I only can disagree with Boss Rush mode! I really tried to beat for hours trust me! Aside from ridiculous archivements (which I really don't care to obtain in any game ever) I completed nearly every challange except for Boss Rush mode. If it only replenished your life meter after certains fights then the experience would be fair! Bosses are hard but good in main game enough. Having to defeat all of them with one life it's beyond me. I couldn't pass True Prius. Dragon boss it's so broken. Even in my best attemp they always hit me at least 1 time! So impossible to evade the attacks when the four of them are shooting! Then some attack patterns like the final final attack in the last form of the flying demonic girl it's frame perfect jump and I couldn't make it! It's a shame because I really wanted to fight TRUE BADUK so bad! I ended watching the only video on internet that shows him as you can only fight him in the end of Boss Rush mode!. And bear in mind that years ago I managed to beat Ninja Gaiden 1 on NES. That was totally insane. But I found this too a really cruel challange definitely not for me! The music here it's beatiful and 8 bit era! The graphics also! Gameplay's good and so level desing! Despite my cons I really enjoyed this game! It deserves more reviews for sure! You feel the love of the team for retro games here! Don't let your controller rest and give this nice game a try!
A Hole New World is a polished, solid and challenging retro-style platformer. I found that all my weapons were useful depending on the circumstances, and the "upside-down world" gimmick helps the game feel different from similar games. The bosses get quite challenging, and there are additional challenges for those looking for something more hard core after they beat the game regularly. The pixel art and tunes are quite good, and while you have a limited number of lives, game overs are not overly punishing (you still start at your last checkpoint). Oh, and there are several secret areas to discover by checking for false walls. I also always enjoy it when a game's credits includes pixel art portraits of the staff. Recommended!
Too old school, and makes me dizzy playing it.

Boss battles and everything inbetween feel more like a chore than a game.
