NEYMİŞ TANRIM NEYMİŞ? acısı aşk acısı... çeken bilir seven bilir... buymuş ya...
I've had my eye on this game for a while. I like cute puzzle games and the story and art looked so adorable I had to check it out. What followed was a short but charming game that I'm glad I got to play. Prior to starting the game, you can choose between 4 different variations of the couple that the story follows. I love that the developers put that in there, major points on that. The story follows a couple who are madly in love. One of them gets an amazing job opportunity overseas for construction and takes it. The game showcases how their love tries to survive the harshness of long distance and if they can still be a couple by the end. This is a puzzle game with a very interesting premise. The goal is to get the character to reach the star in the picture. The only way to make this happen is to manipulate the stage by folding it (you get it!?). It starts off very simple by just folding it side to side or up and down. As you progress, you'll get corner folding and rotating it as well. Most of the puzzles are fairly simple to solve, but some of them did take some thinking to solve. The overall theme and look of this game is perfect. I loved the music, I loved how the story played out, and I loved how the style of the text was used to convey their thoughts. I was grinning from ear to ear whenever they showed dialogue between the couple but also felt sadness when the long distance really started to strain their relationship. Luckily the game is not super long, so it felt like it was just long enough to enjoy the entire package. I don't have any gripes with this game. The developers did a smart thing by adding a hint system in case you get stuck. You can use as many hints as you want, heck, you can use the hint system to solve the entire puzzle if you want. They really wanted you to enjoy the story and not let the hard puzzles ruin the experience and I respect that. I did not incur any glitches or anything game-breaking. Final verdict? This was a sweet puzzle game. It'll take you around 3-4 hours to beat. After you finish the main story, you can do the two bonus chapters that add more gameplay elements if you really want to test your mettle. Being that it is so short, you might wanna wait to grab it when it's on sale since I think $20 is a bit much for this one. Other than that, I highly recommend it if you want a fun puzzle game with a very cute couple. Thanks for reading!
The folding puzzle mechanic is very interesting, but it does feel a bit cheap for the steep price. It's very short, and doesn't expand the initial folding mechanic a lot so every puzzle design feel the same with not much added. I also have to say that the movement feels very slow, which makes the whole game feel a bit worse. The story in itself is nice, but it does not help the initial problems I have with the game.
paper folding puzzle mechanics are a cool idea. pairing it with a story of two emotionally stunted people freaking out about text messages is not. game play: 8/10 story: no/no
This is the first time I've played a 'relationship game' before, and while A Fold Apart doesn't count as that, it does give food for thought. Long-Distance Relationships can be hard, especially when texting doesn't seem to convey emotion as clearly, which can lead to misunderstandings and emotional spirals. It is important to understand that sticking through the hard decisions really shows how strong a relationship is, through the ups and downs. The story captures this really well throughout the course of the game, and the puzzles also tap into my love for origami. The game felt too short for the $10 price tag IMO, especially considering the somewhat abrupt ending, but I loved the game overall and would eagerly await a second installment!
A charming little puzzle game with the story of a long distance relationship. Captures the emotions and struggles perfectly. Not the best game I’d say but a decent one to add to the list. Plays beautifully on steam deck aswell! 💖
charming game -- pretty art work and color, good music, and fun puzzles. puzzles have different layers so they don't feel stale, though multiple layers can make it challenging at times. recommend for a cozy way to spend 2-3 hrs.
The puzzles are nice. The story had me laughing, how they are reading too much into the text messages and gaslighting themselves. I know some people like that.
