Don't trust the beautiful graphics. It looks nice but the puzzles eat your soul and spit it out xD 10/10
Really not worth the money even on sale. (refunded) The design of the whole game is very bad. The cutscenes look better on ps1 games. And the character movement and enemies are very clunky. Overall not a fun experience. Maybe if you are tripping on something it might be interesting.
Tags told me that this game is relaxing:) Oh, boy! It is so hardcore that I have flashbacks of the Crash Bandicoot's hardest levels. It is defeated now and I can rest a bit:) Devs, I'm waiting for the next game.
My son and I are having an absolute blast with this game. 10/10 would recommend. Its so beautiful and fun.
Current Steam Deck users beware. The frame rate in this game was very erratic for me with large jumps between 30, 40, and 60 fps. This is very different than the fairly smooth 60 fps with small dips into the 50s shown on Youtube videos filmed near the original launch date. A few other recent purchasers are reporting similar issues via Reddit so I think something may have changed since launch. Perhaps updates to SteamOS that don't work well with this game? It's a shame because I love puzzle platformers and this one looks great. I really wish I could have played it but I couldn't find a stable frame rate after trying to everything (adjusting in-game graphics settings, frame rate caps, different proton versions, etc). I ended up having to refund the game.
Joe Wander crashes constantly. (A developer on Discord helped me, works without problems now.) Pros + The different kinds of puzzles are ok :) Cons - The bosses of each level is bland :-/ - The controls are bad. - You sometimes can't see where to parkour to because of bad camera view. Therefore after I've completed Joe Wander I'll tell that this was overall a bad experience.
100%ed the game. I really only recommend this game if you LOVE puzzles and platforming, cause this game has hard ass puzzles and hard ass platforming. All with jank physics, a whip that often just doesn't work, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mini-games, 1 hit KO, and a semi-broken achievement. At the core is a really creative set of mechanics that I wish the devs had stuck to showcasing, instead of trying to shoehorn them all into a nut punch of YOLO platforming.
BUYER BEWARE This is clearly a beautiful game and seems like a great platformer. However, do not buy this if you will be playing on the Steam Deck. It runs awfully even at low presets. This game has no right to be Steam Deck Verified. Please adjust, Valve.
