Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 23 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
"A Dog Story" is a story-rich exploration game about love, loss, and letting go — told through the eyes of a dog who doesn’t know she has died.

You are Black, a small black mutt who wakes up at the bottom of a well in the middle of a storm. Confused and frightened, she claws her way back to the garden, eager to return to her family — only to find the house empty, her scent fading, and shadows moving through the rain.
Across six days and nights, Black roams the empty home and garden, searching for her boy. She watches over the house from unseen terrors, ventures into haunting dreamlike dungeons, and confronts grotesque ghostly creatures — all while holding on to the fading hope that life might still return to normal. But with each passing night, the world becomes more distorted, the memories more fractured — and something in the darkness is calling her back.

This isn’t just your average narrative adventure. Between chasing echoes in empty rooms and hiding from shadows that shouldn't exist, you’ll also be answering delightfully absurd quizzes that reveal hidden sides of your personality—even the ones you didn’t know existed.

I really wanted to like this one. Games with dogs are very much my jam and I liked the art style and concept. Unfortunately, the game itself isn’t in a state to be playable at the time I tried it. Menus are missing exit prompts, there’s a total lack of direction, and the game crashed no less than 5 times within 2 minutes to the point that it’s the first game I actively gave up on. If it becomes playable I imagine it is something I’d recommend; until that happens though I’d give this a pass.
A Dog Story by DIG Games is a short, narrative-focused exploration experience that builds its identity almost entirely around perspective and mood. You play as a dog named Black, moving through a quiet, unfamiliar version of what should be a familiar home and surrounding space. The premise is simple on the surface, but the emotional weight comes from what is left unsaid. The game places you inside a viewpoint that does not fully understand what has happened, and that gap between player awareness and character perception becomes the central emotional device. The storytelling is subtle and largely environmental. Rather than presenting a structured plot with dialogue or explicit exposition, the game relies on small details, spatial changes, and the gradual realization that something is wrong. The world feels incomplete, as if it has lost something important, and this absence is what drives the experience forward. Because the narrative is not directly explained, players are encouraged to interpret what they see and piece together meaning on their own. This approach can be effective in creating a quiet, lingering sense of melancholy, though it also means that the story may feel vague or underdeveloped depending on how much the player engages with its nuances. Gameplay is intentionally minimal. Movement through the environment is the primary interaction, with no combat, no traditional puzzles, and very few mechanics beyond exploration. This simplicity makes the game easy to approach, as there is no learning curve or pressure to perform. At the same time, it limits the ways in which the player can engage with the experience. Once the basic loop of walking, observing, and progressing is established, there is little variation to keep the gameplay itself interesting. The focus remains firmly on atmosphere and interpretation rather than interaction. The environments are designed to support this tone of quiet disconnection. Familiar spaces such as a home or nearby areas are presented in ways that feel slightly altered, creating a sense of unease without relying on overt horror elements. The world is not densely populated with objects or interactions, but the placement of what is there feels deliberate. Small details hint at a larger context, encouraging players to slow down and take in their surroundings. This design works best when players are willing to engage with the environment at a thoughtful pace, as rushing through it can make the experience feel empty. Visually, the game adopts a modest and somewhat understated style. It does not aim for high detail or realism, instead focusing on lighting and composition to convey mood. Certain scenes manage to feel quietly striking, particularly when emptiness and space are used effectively. However, the overall presentation can feel uneven, with some areas appearing more refined than others. The visuals support the narrative intent, but they do not consistently stand out on their own. Sound plays a more important role in maintaining the atmosphere. Ambient noise and environmental audio contribute to the feeling of isolation, helping to fill the silence of the world. The lack of heavy musical emphasis allows these subtle sounds to carry more weight, reinforcing the game’s subdued tone. While the audio design is not particularly complex, it aligns well with the pacing and emotional direction of the experience. Pacing is slow and deliberate, with no urgency or pressure placed on the player. The game unfolds at a steady pace, allowing moments to linger rather than pushing toward dramatic events. This can make the experience feel contemplative, but it can also lead to stretches where little seems to happen. The lack of variation in pacing means that the game maintains a consistent tone throughout, which works for immersion but limits its ability to build momentum. The overall length is short, and the experience is clearly designed to be completed in a single sitting. There is little reason to revisit it once finished, as there are no branching paths or alternate outcomes to explore. Its impact depends largely on how much the player connects with its atmosphere and perspective during that initial playthrough. In the end, A Dog Story is less about gameplay and more about presenting a quiet, introspective moment from an unusual point of view. It succeeds in creating a subdued emotional experience through its use of perspective and environmental storytelling, but it does so within a very limited framework. Players looking for mechanical depth or varied interaction may find it lacking, while those open to slower, more reflective experiences may appreciate its simplicity. Rating: 6/10

This is the greatest game I've played in my entire life. Amazing story about dog loss mixed with Pokémon. And it tells you what kind of person you are as a side hustle. 10/10

Never completed a game before, and yes... I know it's short. Yet this one made me want to carry on, primarily because I saw how the story was developing, yes it may be short, but it's a bittersweet story.
Utter crap. The screenshots make it feel like a visual novel / RPG hybrid, but it involves a TON of walking in the dark with random encounters. No map, no orientation, nothing. Interesting idea, awful implementation. Oh, and the art looks like bad AI. Find a kid from an art high school and pay him some peanuts to help, it'll be way better.
有点卖相...但是没有中文还是差评呼吁了。话说背刺了,蓝瘦香菇... 202605,steam,steam掉卡掉物抵扣,它处自定义包入的本体约15元。爱人如己,目前就这,看以后追评。
