About
A long time ago, an unknown meteorite came to earth. The meteorite was sleeping quietly deep in the earth, waiting for the time to wake up.
10,000 years have passed, and when humans have built civilization, a change occurs in the meteorite.
Countless alien "breeds" are born from the meteorite and quickly devour the planet.
The true identity of the meteorite was the egg of an alien life form.
The land above is destroyed, and national functions disappear. Humanity is defeated.
Those left behind are forced to live in sturdy underground shelters.
The shelter was named "Ark" and became humanity's last stronghold.
In order to take back the land, humanity has gathered its wisdom and materials and developed two "anti-bleed" combat weapons.
One is the manned weapon “Father”
One is a combat clone soldier with the appearance of a girl who becomes Father's pilot.
They live in a deserted front-line base and then go off to fight.

It is a shallow game - DeadWire!
9th Sentinel Sisters is a fast-paced, post-apocalyptic action game developed and published by Live Wire that blends twin-stick shooting, side-view combat, and roguelite progression into a tightly focused sci-fi experience. Set in a bleak future where humanity has been driven underground by an alien force known as the Bleed, the game frames its action within a desperate last-stand narrative. Players take control of clone sisters deployed from underground Arks, piloting powerful mechanized units into hostile surface zones in an effort to reclaim what remains of Earth. While the story remains largely in the background, it provides a clear thematic motivation that reinforces the game’s sense of urgency, sacrifice, and repetition inherent to its roguelite structure. The core gameplay revolves around intense, arcade-style combat that emphasizes constant movement, precise aiming, and rapid decision-making. Using a twin-stick control scheme, players must manage positioning and fire direction independently while navigating waves of aggressive enemies that fill the screen with projectiles and hazards. Encounters escalate quickly, often forcing split-second reactions as enemies swarm from multiple angles or apply pressure through varied attack patterns. Dashing, skill activation, and careful spacing become essential tools for survival, and the game rarely allows players to remain passive for long. This creates a satisfying rhythm where mastery of movement and awareness feels just as important as raw firepower. One of the game’s strongest elements is its approach to customization and build variety. Across each run, players gain access to a wide array of weapons, modifiers, and reinforcement parts that can dramatically alter how combat feels. Different loadouts encourage experimentation, allowing players to favor sustained fire, burst damage, defensive survivability, or high-risk mobility-focused builds. Because these elements are partially randomized, no two runs feel exactly the same, and the game rewards adaptability rather than reliance on a single optimal setup. This system adds strategic depth beneath the surface-level action, giving experienced players room to refine tactics and experiment with synergies. Structurally, 9th Sentinel Sisters follows familiar roguelite conventions, where failure is expected and progression carries across runs. Each defeat contributes to long-term advancement, unlocking new options and gradually increasing the player’s overall effectiveness. This sense of incremental growth helps balance the game’s difficulty curve, making early frustration more manageable as tools and upgrades accumulate. At the same time, the reliance on repeated runs means the game’s pacing can feel cyclical, especially for players sensitive to repetition. While the core loop is engaging, extended sessions may highlight the limited pool of environments and encounter variations. Visually, the game adopts a clean 2.5D presentation that prioritizes readability during chaotic encounters. Enemy silhouettes, attack indicators, and projectile patterns are clearly defined, which is essential given the density of on-screen action. The aesthetic leans into sci-fi militarism and post-apocalyptic decay, with mechanical designs and alien forms reinforcing the bleak tone of humanity’s struggle. While the visuals may not be overly elaborate, they serve the gameplay effectively, ensuring that clarity is never sacrificed for style during high-intensity moments. The overall tone of 9th Sentinel Sisters is one of controlled desperation. Its atmosphere, combined with relentless enemy pressure and the disposable nature of its clone protagonists, subtly reinforces themes of expendability and endurance. This complements the roguelite structure well, as repeated failure feels thematically justified rather than purely mechanical. However, players looking for deeper narrative exploration or character development may find the storytelling too restrained, as the game prioritizes action and systems over emotional or plot-driven engagement. In the end, 9th Sentinel Sisters stands as a solid and focused entry within the action roguelite genre, offering fast, demanding combat supported by flexible customization and a grim sci-fi backdrop. Its strengths lie in moment-to-moment gameplay and build experimentation, making it appealing to players who enjoy mastering systems through repetition and refinement. While it may not fully escape the genre’s tendency toward repetition or limited narrative depth, it delivers a satisfying and mechanically engaging experience that rewards skill, adaptability, and persistence across its relentless battles. Rating: 6/10
IT'S NOT ABANDONED! REJOICE! 9th Sentinel Sisters is a prime example of an early access game. There is minimal content and is very rough around the edges. Even with that being the case; I believe it shows promise, and at the $10 (CAD) price point its at (as of writing this review) I have more than gotten my moneys worth out of it. If you're a fan of the bullet heaven/hell genre and have a few bucks to spare on a promising Indie team; then i recommend trying it out and hope you'll enjoy it yourself! Some things i hope to see added over time would be: - An Endless mode - Different mechs/models (ideally one for each character) - Weapon combinations or special upgrades - A passive or augment system, something to add more variety to your build before you even start the mission Time will tell how much care is put into this game, but i am hopeful for the future and i wish you the best of luck Live Wire!
