One of the worst games I think I've ever attempted to suffer through in my life, 88 Heroes is a cruel joke the developers are playing on the player. Of the titular 88 Heroes, only a handful have a moveset that even permit them to get through the hellishly generated levels that are rendered crushingly unfair through terrible design such as unavoidable instant-death traps, frustrating enemy placement, and the fact that the screen is so zoomed in (and frequently obstructed by the UI, on purpose again as a cruel joke) that you can't see anything coming unless you stop and slowly pan around the level, thus guaranteeing you won't make it to the end of the level within the 88 second time limit. On top of that, despite being a basic pixel art 2D platformer, the performance is horrendous, stuttering madly every time the player so much as kills an enemy, which in a one-hit-kill precision platformer, means you're as good as dead whenever this happens. Please, if you want an indie 2D pixel art platformer with funny references and good level design, just play Broforce.
