Very nostalgic for me as a Gen X kid that loves the Commodore 64 games that I still own. It is a basic kind of platformer from those days, but has very nice jump control that some of the older games lacked. Looks and sounds like a game from the 80s, which is a good thing to me, and the only negatives I can say are that you can't make it fullscreen, and lacks the ability to remap the controls, although them being simple means that it's not as big of a deal as it might have been. It's 5 bucks normally, but goes on sale at times, and it's 2 bucks as of the time of this writing, so definitely worth it.

Simple, elegant and fun. I really enjoyed my playthrough and wish there were more elegantly simple & fun games out there like this one.

Avec 8 BIT SPACE on replonge dans la joie des jeux 8 bit d'autrefois. La musique chiptune, l'écran petite résolution, les couleurs limitées et ce délicieux pixel art qui dessine des personnages et des décors en quelques points. Il se joue au clavier et bien sûr à la manette mais une manette à l'ancienne : un bouton et pas de stick analogique, on joue avec les touches fléchées en croix, Vous savez, celles qui ne servent presque jamais ou alors pas dans le but de déplacer le perso. Le game play est fluide, la musique et les sons sympas, il n'est pas très difficile, juste ce qu'il faut. Tout bon : pouce en l'air. Avec la dernière MAJ on est encore plus dans les jeux à l'ancienne avec la possibilité de jouer avec 3 vies pour finir le jeu. Là, c'est un peu plus difficile. Beaucoup plus difficile même.

Charming little game, with focus in collecting things and avoiding dangers. Pros: -nice music and sound effects; -cute and simple graphics; Cons: -full screen not available; -delayed controls; -the graphics are not pixel-perfect; -enemies could move a little faster; -some bugs (not-intended double jump, infinite loading). Overall, I recommend it for a little slow adventure.

While it's true it's only $4.99, the game shows us all it's tricks in less then ten minutes of play time, and after that there's nothing compelling us to continue onward.

What is it with these 8 bit style games? I find them more enjoyable than the AAA slop that cost a fortune; maybe I'm just getting old or maybe this is just a really fun game. I love the simplicity and the controls or tight, music is spot on and the price is right. Hey, that rhymes.

This game reminds me of VVVVVV and other old flash games I used to play that were based off retro games. It was really simple and fun to pick up and I ended up actually finishing it (I am not a huge finisher of games). It was easy at the beginning but got a little more challenging towards the end. The ending is LIFE CHANGING (not really but you'll probably get a giggle out of it).

Despite it won't pass onto history, this is an entertaining game that worth the effort to spend a few hours on. Everything is minimalistic and charming, trying to emulate the games of the 8-bit microcomputer age in the eighties (so that you cannot touch nor kill the enemies, as it was the rule for lots of platform games released on that age). However this game is quite easy, and doesn't represent a big challenge if you are well trained on classic titles such as 'Jet Set Willy' or 'Dynamite Dan'. An interdimensional portal has suddenly appeared, its destination is completely unknown, and your mission is to reactivate it by finding five Relics and investigate where it leads to. Each Relic is inside a specific Temple in a particular Solar System, and you'll have each time to acquire three Crystals (by exploring the corresponding Planets of each Solar System) in order to open the Temple's door and take the Relic. And the ending is kind of hilarious, in the line of hilarity of the endings of 'Camelot Warriors' or 'Altered Beast'... The only con I can think of (apart of not having a real Fullscreen mode, just maximized Window mode) is the fact that it pretends to emulate a ZX Spectrum game... but with such thick pixels, and the possibility to see pixels with different colours one close to another (something that had to be set very carefully in a Spectrum in order to avoid the so-called "Colour Clash" problem), I had the feeling I was playing not a Speccy game... but an Amstrad CPC one. In fact, if the background had been blue instead of black, it had been 100% an Amstrad game. In conclussion, a recommended game for what it is: a simple and entertaining classic platformer.
