Your choices matter! Will you accept assistance from an old man, no matter how odd the request may seem? Will you kill an enemy or let them live to receive a reward they promised? Will you perform the ulitmate betrayal and hurt the ones closest to you? You decide...

Decent story, really short, easy to beat ( I never lost a battle). Worth $2??? Not really but it was fun...ish...
Battle system isn't for me but that's the nature of RPG maker I guess. Story is fun for $2 (w/ discount).
Guess this is another game I ask for a refund....even with the low price I just don't want to support such games. Not that I started playing it with high expections. My first minute was a proofe of that. I mean starting a game without any introduction is bad. That my party could walk into the wall just from their starting point (and than into many other objects) wasn't a big surprise. Of course the world is rather small...and oh wonder if you played some other RPGMaker games....you will find that someone just used paste and copy. But maybe there is an interesting story?....ehh Nope! How about the fights? Oh, you get one type of enemy at every location. Because your party heals HP and MP after each fight no need for something like tactics. In fact I use repeat command and than just put down the trigger. Only for the boss fights you need to heal. Fun fact...in my short playtime I finished 2 of the bosses. It was amazing...walking over lava/poison and NO loss of HP. Just a useless flashing of the screen. Even better fighing fire elements...who did the most damage? The one using a fire spell??? What else can I say...oh, the game crashed 3 in the first 10 minutes....after that I lost interest.
7 Pillars is a very amateurish RPGMaker RPG with straight-up tedious combat - even basic enemies take multiple rounds to defeat, but you get all your HP and MP back after every battle, so you just spam the skills you have. Those skills, by the way, are a very limited set and as far as I can tell you get almost nothing else after the start of the game. Add typically amateurish map design and basically nothing to interact with other than the next plot point, and you have a recipe for a game I quickly decide I won't be finishing. It does have one unique bit, the ability to spare or kill basically every NPC in the game (not that there's many of them), but this came across as kind of pointless for the most part. Not recommended, even if you already own it. (As clear from this review I did not finish this game nor am I planning on doing so.)
I like games that try to create an original setting, a world that stands out among the crowd. Different games do this in different ways. Some have intricate storylines or clever scripts; some use distinct graphical or musical styles etc. What they all have in common is the ability to draw the player in, to involve the player with whatever is going on. Gameplay has a role in this process - bad gameplay can really detract from the experience, and good gameplay can enhance it - but I don't view it as the centerpiece. Generally, I prefer a thoughtful, intelligently written game with uncomplicated gameplay to a game that has very elaborate gameplay but puts no effort into the world in which it takes place. This game delivers on that standard. It is a fun story to play through with classic RPG element gameplay. Over the years, many great story-based games with narratives that fracture or morph based on player decisions have hit the market. 7 Pillars harkens back to a time where decisions matter without complicated paragon bars or 'everyone liked that' notifications. Definitely recommend playing through a couple times and having fun seeing the changes.
Totally worth the 2$! Thanks to whoever made this for this little but entertaining masterpiece :)
very good very very very very gooooooooooooooooooooood fun
