Of all of the pieces of garbage that Aldorlea has spewed onto Steam, this by far the second worst one of all the ones I've had the displeasure of playing. It starts out innocently enough, and seems to present a fair mix of comedy, story, and reasonable classic turn-based RPG elements. But that's just to lure you in. The truth is, the BS difficulty on this game is second only to The Book of Legends. Once you start getting to the marshlands portion of the game, all pretenses of fairness are dropped, and you encounter wall after wall of random encounter enemies that can do ridiculous things like KO your entire party before you can move, can lure your characters into counter-attack loops until they are killed via attrition, and ambushes that result in you either getting kneecapped before the fight even begins, or as mentioned previously, killing you outright and forcing you back to your last save. I might be able to forgive this if saving were easy, but it isn't. The dungeons in this game are massive, and there's usually only one or two save points in the entire thing. I got 80% of the way through the Witch Woods, which I was finding to be a surprisingly fun dungeon after the slog that was the snow level and the mushroom valley. Then BOOM! A red jack o lantern plant cast an instant death spell on my entire party, everyone died, and I wasted two hours of my life. On top of that, there's 51 secret rooms, and you basically have to buy the guide to know where they are. There's no clues, no item indicators of such rooms, and I would say they're optional except they contain items and equipment you need to even stand a chance of surviving random encounters. You basically can't even struggle through without the decent stuff they offer. In summary, this game is only slightly less worse than The Book of Legends because at least it presents a marginal possibility of being beatable. Absolute waste of time. Even playing it during breaks at work (Hence the large playtime) just makes it feel like I'm doing more work.
A generic RPGMaker game with amateur sprites, clunky writing and humor from the 2000s. Balancing is bad and the maps are jank with lots of backtracking.
This game stands out as a captivating retro-style RPG, offering a truly unique adventure in this genre. With its nice pixel art style and immersive storyline, it takes players on a nostalgic journey filled with engaging turn-based combat and strategic gameplay. The ability to seamlessly switch between characters during battles is what sets it apart from games similar to it, allowing for dynamic and tactical encounters. The game's expansive world begs to be explored, revealing diverse landscapes, hidden treasures, and unforgettable quests. While it presents a challenge with its difficulty level, the game rewards perseverance and strategic planning. For those seeking an enchanting RPG experience with a touch of nostalgia and a gameplay twist, this is an exceptional choice that truly shines among its peers.

Game is fun to play with good story and questlines
Not great but not bad...ok if you are into RPGMaker stuff
Not as good as South Park stick of Truth. But this is still a game. I know this will not count anyway as I am sure I bought a key for this game. But nevermind. Alas, soon I will play sims2 or 1, or 3 or 4 and have a brewskie. Yes this is complete nonsense. But to a serious question though? WHY must computer games be freaking too hard these days? I am not saying all games are like dark souls but why on earth must every single game make a superhard game like, supermario? Dark souls comes from super mario. Mario comes from supermario. Mario is Dark souls. The Bollehopp has spoken.
The game isn’t good compared to modern RPGs, but the fact you’re on this steam page in the first place suggests you’ve probably already played all the modern RPGs and are going back in time to the more obscure. The story is not engaging, there are moments where the setting seems interesting but everything is very surface level. The characters are very weirdly written, there’s just not that much dialogue in general but when there is, it’s not very engaging. Random is a jerk, Sarah just complains, the chameleon makes jokes, and none of the other characters are memorable enough to say anything about. The dungeons are an incredible pain. It’s an old school game, so you can’t save whenever you want. This would be fine but these dungeons are long, maze like, and require a lot of backtracking, so if you die that’s a good bit of progress lost. Speaking of dying, you’ll be doing it a lot. The game starts out fairly balanced, but once you hit the 30% mark, all bets are off. The regular mobs will one shot you before you can even make an action, and the bosses are absolute tanks. The jump in boss health is insane, once you hit that 30% boss health jumps an order of magnitude higher, and you will not have the stats or gear to compensate. The developer seems to have realized his mistake, because in the final areas of the game, you start getting overloaded with powerful armor and weapons. One thing I appreciate(or would appreciate had I liked the progression better), is the plentiful amounts of optional super bosses in whatever area you’re in. This is a really nice touch, and the rewards are usually worthwhile, even including an additional character. What I do not appreciate is that the game is not honest with this, there are trap super bosses, where if you interact with what looks like a normal intractable object(i.e an NPC) you’re pretty much getting wiped. The game also has secret rooms, again a nice touch. These secret rooms have fun little character interactions and often times very useful gear. You will not be finding all of these without a guide, because for about 75% of them, there’s no indicator of any kind. For example, you can walk into a random tree and get sent to a secret room, nothing is at all different about that tree from the 10 that surround it. I finished the game wondering if this was intended to be a rage game. The developer seems to have ignored all conventions of difficulty scaling and increased and decreased at will. The final boss has 160k HP, and will one shot your characters with a normal attack. I only won because I never used the item that dealt percentage based damage to an enemies health, and had a stockpile. So good luck with that if you decide to buy this.
