I didn't look into this game and just bought it on a whim because it was cheap and had a funny name. This is a game where you date kids who are adults who are kids and you are an adult that could be turned into a kid. Please leave children out of my dating games.
It's... Not bad? I mean, It's not amazing, but it's alright. Honestly, If I could, I wouldn't give this game a thumbs up or down, but the pros outweigh the cons just enough that I can give it a thumbs up. On one hand, it's got an interesting story, decent characters, and some really pretty CGs. On the other hand though... Oh lordy, the translation was rough. Not as rough as some translations, but still enough to bother me. All in all, it was fine. Not great, not bad, fine. I'd say to go ahead and buy it if it's on sale, or if you're looking for a cheap VN that has a interesting story.
overall alright for in between.
An adorable and surprisingly deep Visual Novel for a small price. While there are romantic (and more) moments, solving the mystery of the story definitely takes priority over otome-style romancing. Each of your Lost Boys has a distinct personality and look to them, as well as as an interesting (and of course tragic, if not outright dark) backstory. Your protagonist attempts to unravel the mysteries of a world where children act like adults (and sometimes temporarily turn into one, too!), but it is also a world full of danger, with many paths to a bad end or death (be it yours or that of others). There are also 2 secret character options hidden away in the paths of two of the main boys. There are two beautiful CGs per main character and 4 miscellaneous ones. The static character sprites, while perhaps not on part with your typical 20 to 30 dollar VN, are by no means bad. Background music and the occasional noise are added as the situation requires. Honestly, there's little room for harsh criticism, especially considering what you pay for the content. The English translation is a bit clunky at times, but overall it's still not hindering in understanding the story. If a presented choice is a bit too ambiguous in terms of what it actually means for your character's intent, there's always the option to save during the decision (and being able to save on the selection screen in a VN is always a plus in my book). Additionally, when a choice of yours affects a character's feelings towards you, it is indicated by small, coloured up and down arrows in said character's reply to your choice. This makes figuring out the optimal way to your chosen one's good ending a lot easier than it usually is in VNs (that tend to have hidden flags for positive and negative consequences to your choices). Overall, this is a definite Recommend for a uniquely interesting story.
Not very engaging. Also, even when following a guide, I couldn't get any of the endings? It's like the routes are random, which is not good for a visual novel.
I really enjoyed playing this game. I didn't have any real expectations when I bought it, I only bought it because it's cheap, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I found the story to be fascinating, a strange world with strange customs seemingly populated entirely by children. However it is far from being a happy go lucky wonderland, it is filled with horror, sadness and despair. Many of the characters live harsh lives and engage in all kinds of unpleasantness, they are a mix selfish, bitter and tortured individuals. But it's not all doom and gloom, there is good in this world and despite the cruelty of their surroundings there is room for childish wonder, happiness and kindness. And depending on your choices, you can help to make a real difference to their future. I was totally warped up in the mysteries of this world and how it came to be, and couldn't wait to unravel them by completing every characters' individual route. Sometimes with a positive ending, sometimes tragic, often bittersweet. The music was very good, atmospheric and ambient scores were handled very well in both darker and lighter scenes (especially No.0's menacing theme and No.6's bubbly main theme). The sound affects were also good (though they played less of a role than the music), I particularly remember a scene where No.6 burst into tears and I felt a real need to cuddle him and make him feel better, lol. The artwork was very nice, many of the backdrops would make great screen savers, they were very pretty (but I must say some there was an over-use of some and under-use of others, which was a shame, but not a huge deal). The characters were also well done, with plenty of genuine and varied expressions. This game not perfect it has a few minor issues, the most noticeable one being the translation, it is fine for the most part but there are often times where you have to take a few seconds to figure out what's actually being conveyed, and a couple of times where a sentence was completely lost on me. I also feel some of the lore may have been lost in translation at times. Sometimes the protagonist's reactions (or lack there of) to situations can be odd, but most of them didn't drag me out of the story, after all, she has lost parts of here memory then ends up in this backwards world where she is completely out of place and with little understanding of the overarching situation and her place in it. Overall, the engagement I had with the story and characters far outweighed and of the issues and I enjoyed this Interactive Story Game immensely. Take into account it's cheap price too, I would recommend it to anyone. Cheers
There are only 6 save slots, what a pain in the ass! The artwork looks poor but the story caught my attention. There are things happening I don’t know how like n°3 came to shield n°0. The power of love shows well as the character chooses his lover instead of his job: n°0 and 4 protect and refuse to kill as they love me, it brings well-being to n°4. It helps
Julian to wake up from the dark
! The
journalist’s
love for Snow White for having an adult mind is cool though it’s practical like he needs to love someone and as she’s the only adult mind around. I don’t think he’ll stop travelling to be with her. N°3 cares of not being seen as a let-down and he’s not self-assured in love. N°6 being well alone as he was tricked, is happy to
be loved in the end by me
. N° 1 is angry she messes up his mind but SW effect on N°1 feels completely relieved, cares for me. He learns the well being of being loved. For love he’d give up his will of domination. SW is sadistic in love with him. If we act against the lover’s way the route ends fast. Some endings fell short. N°4 tells about him with a faint smile and such a poker face. N°5 has the face of a seductress and dares to go straight to the flesh. I identified with him as he’s not used to be helped and touched to be recognized. He became indifferent to life so much he is disappointed. The logic of the one way and the other:
to make fun of , to exploit adults from the North while in the South we seek to get out from the spiritual world.
It’s paralleled with the 2 personalities of n°6 as well as the 7 boys of North and South are alter egos. Ex:
N°1 from North wants to heal adult illness so everybody’s a kid to control while his alter-ego works on escaping from the spiritual world.
I was glad the
hacker did that cos to live in a fictional world is dangerous, to not be aware when you’ll die for real.
With n°5 we see that we can be nasty by a matter of facts. He has guts to bear the scars of life. Pain sadness is attractive. As he got hardships he’s indifferent about his past or me like he lost his humanity. But why the lust for me? Cos I’m the gleam of hope. I think I’m influenced by him when I say I can’t be serious about everything otherwise I’m hurt cos I’m the contrary with another lover. N°2: adult relationship to be kind and to rely on each other. But he’s possessive, orders. He thinks kids aren’t guided in morality but
the truth is their adult mind brings corruption.
He became numb until he met me. I doubt he bears the drug’s pain to keep on living among kids as he takes painkillers. He seems twisted to pretend he’s well. He lacks self-trust, he should bear to be a real adult.N°1 doesn’t like weakness though he has a defenseless side. I love he’s charming with dark willful eyes. He’s torn btw controlling ppl and
that he wants to understand feelings and love. He was used as an object, he hated his parents for it but wishing to control the spiritual world makes him not better than them![/spoilers]
