I think my patience for badly translated visual novels has completely run out. To be fair, Seven Boys 2 is actually understandable. That's not to say the translation is good, but I know what's being said and what's happening through the narration and dialogue. But that doesn't mean it's an enjoyable read. On the contrary, the horrible writing actually kills any interest I might have in the story. And considering how many people have written good reviews for it, I feel like there might be a somewhat interesting story beneath all of the gunk, but I just don't have the mental fortitude to stick through seven routes worth to find out. On the plus side, the music is fairly nice, and the artwork is okay (although some of the characters look like bobbleheads with how disproportionate their noggins are to their bodies). Anyhow, if you're able to push through badly translated writing and appreciate what's underneath you might want to give this one a shot considering how cheap it is. But if you're like me and you can't bring yourself to waste your valuable time on a so-so story mired in dialogue that sounds like an 8 year old's fan fiction, then by all means, move along. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAlzDw_gDEQ

Curated by: Bad Otome Games & Chudah's Corner

What a nice visual novel! :) Graphics are truly amazing to me - i love this Japanese-like style. As far as I know though, even if this is Seven Boys 2, the first game is not available in European languages so I hadn't got the chance to play it (and by the way, it isn't even present on Steam). Anyways, it's fully enjoyable as a stand-alone novel. I loved the plot and the game itself has many (actually around 30!) different endings and multiple choices that you have to continuously make, so it's really everything up to you! Back to the game itself, I think that they call it "otome" 'cos it's targeted towards female players (and you can see this in the title ahah) and focuses on romantic twists but who cares, it's great. Without spoilering anything, Seven Boys 2 follows its female protagonist through her journey to a new world, where the orphan boys of the title will be met and so on according to every different ending ;) I read reviews point out that the English translation isn't perfect but personally I found the game completely enjoyable - probably being a non-English speaker myself I tend not to be too focused on small mistakes on grammar. Come on, half of the monoglot Anglo-American population often makes simple errors.. XD The only bad thing is that the achievements too are written only in Chinese, but it takes out nothing from the game itself. And the artwork is really awesome, so give this a try :)
Seven Boys 2 is definitely a game I would recommend. I fell in love with it and it became easily one of my favorite Visual Novels. Altough I have to say it is a direct sequel to Seven Boys 1, which doesn't seem to be available in English. You can play the game for free online, but only in Chinese (which I sadly do not understand) So if you play Seven Boys 2, there is a lot you probably will not entirely comprehend. You will also meet some Characters from the first part, but they won't be introduced to you. It would be much more fun to play those games in order, because their story is just amazing. I found out about this as I played through four of the routes, but I was still able to enjoy the game. I just enjoy it a lot more now, as I understand the story way better (even thoug I still lack a lot of information from the first one) I never expected a story so deep and well done in a game like this. It's very complex, and the English is pretty okay. It has grammar and typo errors, but it's really good if you compare it with SakuraGames, which have terrible and sometimes hardly understandable English. You should definitely give this game a try. If enough people show interest, maybe the developer considers a translation of the first part. I certainly would be glad to pay whatever price they ask for.
Let's start the countdown: Seven, Six,Five, Four,Three,Two,One and Zero.. Imagine each number represents a small child who would become an adult at night. Each child would possess a different personality and a different out come. So that's what this visual novel is about. You come to a fairy tale world where only childrent exists and adults are despised. Being an adult can be considered as a sickness and you were thrown into prison along with some other kids unknowingly of the crime you have committed. Yet you are saved by the head of North Island and can live in his place as long as you do the tasks that are assigned to you.
Story
When you start the VN you obviously feel weirded out. If you bought it considering if its an Otome novel, well then you might be this inch to thinking youre a pedo when you play it. But the story take a dramatic turn when you go into depth of each character route. You learn that each boy is named with a number and you are the Snow White. So this story might be influenced by that particular fairytale with the seven dwarves. Every story follows the same ending path in which you will have to unravel the mystery of the world along with your chosen partner. Some characters might change this path permanently and there also extra secret characters you can romance if you choose the options wisely.
Characters
The characters are well developed and has a shady background along with their good traits. The stories of each arc can get really really dark if you are not careful. Even the cutest character might harbour a dark past while the most threatening character can become outright cute and adorable regarding his evil deeds. Eventually it feels like when the story progresses through each arc, the heroine would naturally heal their pain along with their bad habits if you chose to be with them.
Gameplay
Now this part has a lot of flaws. For starters at least they give a small notification on how to skip and everything at the start of the game. But, there are a lot of bugs. For an exambple if you fully finish the route of a character you might need to actually close the game and start again since the menu options would stop working. And there is no current option to return to the title screen if you are actually in the game and want to choose a route. For some reason if you select start you can go into the second segment of each character route where the Red Heart Ending or the Blue Heart Ending can be achieved. For anyone's reference the red heart ending is the good ending where the blue heart ending is the bad ending. Or if i would prefer to tell- I would call the depressing ending. The characters will stay in touch with you but you won't be able to be with them. The gameplay is relatively long and with the fast forward along getting all achievements I got more than 12 hours of gameplay and there are 30 endings to achieve. I bet the price of the game was reduced mostly due to the bugs during sales and that's such an injustice to the game since the developers should adress the bugs.
Art
Art is wonderful and beautiful. Even the BG's are done very well. However, I noticed there were the same BG's used in Pastry Lovers which is a bit of a turn off but it did not bother me much. The character CG is very well done in comparision to Pastry Lovers.
Music
Ah the music is great as usual but unfortunately I did hear some pieces which are from Pastry Lovers in the game. And not only Pastry Lovers but from X-Note as well. That kinda hinders the originality of the game. There are also some SFX sound which could be heard louder than the music- that part was a bit annoying.
Suggestions for Improvement
I would love if the characters blinked in the VN and if there were some small mini games. The bugs should be addressed and fixed and there were many translation errors throughout each character arc. Maybe some collector edition content would be nice since the story has so many characters and endings. I felt that the achievements also could be more in terms of the long gameplay too (currently there are only 4 achievements) And most importantly this game definitely deserves a set of trading cards and there's a thread for that in the discussion forum- so please cast your vote :) Overall for the sale price I think it's a very good game to play if you don't mind some bugs.

上面的男角涉及強暴和性騷擾的就有差不多一半人,這麼多性暴力,總之還是老話一句:遠離男人保平安! 女主武力值低,作用只是被人保護、做飯做家務、對劇情沒什麼影響的溫柔小白花,對待男人是大愛包容聖母,女主是垃圾回收商來的嗎? 性別觀念 遊戲的性愛觀十分迂腐陳舊,展現了父權的性雙重標準,在性道德上對女性嚴苛,對男性寬容 這遊戲的男性解放了陰莖自由,以濫交程度作為衡量男性魅力的標準,男角越是濫交越有所謂的男子氣概 男性的性與暴力,也被視為陽剛氣質的指標,遵從著父權制度下性別角色的男強女弱、男主女從、男主動女被動 男性的性等於佔有和征服,以陰莖插入陰道作為佔有女性身體的象徵 彷彿女性一旦沾了男性身體、被陽具進入陰道後,就成為一個被男性佔有的物品,那麼女性的一生就離不開這個男人 女性在性方面是被動的客體,沒有任何招架之力,只能任由被男性佔有,男性用陽具得以征服女人的身體和心靈 其中隱含了女性的貞潔要求,父權社會給予女性的性慾出口,在現代社會是性愛合一,女性的性需要愛來啟動,否則就是下流的蕩婦,性經驗越多的女人越沒有價值,以性經驗和性道德來衡量一個女人的人格和存在 這種過時老套的性/別觀念,大量髒男人的存在,男性施虐女性的暴力情節,傷害了我的眼睛,污染了我的精神,十分不適和嘔心,所以不吐不快 以下是詳細路線心得(全是劇透)------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7號綠毛 共通線的大部分男角對女主惡言相向,態度惡劣,所以先選看似溫柔的綠毛 女主前男友,小學時是胖子,曾經得到女主幫助而喜歡她,中學減肥後跟女主談戀愛 大學時期因應家人要求到海外留學五年,所以決定跟女主分手 分手前跟女主去旅行,遇到沉船事故,因救女主而身受重傷 雖然編劇想把綠毛寫成所謂的深情型角色,然而…… 紅心結局:女主醒來後跟綠毛相認,然後他就掛了 藍心結局:女主醒來後對綠毛念念不忘,綠毛先是跟照顧他的護士結婚生下兩個小孩,得知此事後的女主才結婚,老了後想見綠毛一面,遇見跟他長相相似的兒子……不想再複述,真的是太綠了! 綠毛一生在輪椅中度過就不要累人累物了,還生小孩子,有考慮過小孩的處境嗎?自己成為家人的負累,孩子出身長大就要在照顧病弱家人中度過,自己也未能盡父親的責任,實在太不應該了! 綠毛更不應該的是沒有為女主和愛情而守貞的觀念,真是不要得,太雷了!這就是所謂的深情男角嗎?我嗤之以鼻! 女主角頭上一片青青草原,綠得就如七號的髮色一樣呢! 黑貓 第二個日常篇問新來的六號->答應照顧,進入黑貓特別篇 黑貓性格高傲,態度不可一世,嘴巴不饒人,自稱本大爺,明明是貓卻沙豬男味十足 女主要做貓虜才能有好結局,這樣女主記得黑貓的名字,在現實中收養黑貓 有兩個結局: 善意對待、選對名字、好感度高->好結局 惡意對待、好感度低->壞結局 0號藍毛 接下來是真相線藍毛,看了攻略而選的,想快點得知世界真相 藍毛看似是冷血無口殺手,實際上性格油膩,態度輕佻,口花花,女主經常被藍毛調戲得臉紅心跳,猶如被性騷擾一樣,我對此相當反感 不但如此,藍毛對女主有強暴威脅,女主不知反抗,可能在編劇看來是情趣的一種,但我對此男的印象降到負分 有床戲和性描寫,性觀念是老舊的父權陽具中心主義:插入=征服=性主體,被插=屈從=性客體,強調什麼你是屬於我,女主猶如被掠奪的物品一樣被男性佔有,處於被動服從的性客體地位 藍毛第一次就這麼熟練,看起來不是處男,他在現實中沒跟人交往過應該是父權標準處男,但身體被拿來做過實驗多年,肉體的純潔度可不好說 女主性格十分聖母,故事強調女主的大愛包容,女主曾經是個有男友的成年人,醒來後還會被擦邊球油膩說話挑逗得臉紅心跳,真的是父權女眼中的純潔小白花模樣 結局: 紅心是求婚結局,想不到是青梅竹馬大勝利 藍心是兩人永存夢境伊甸園結局 還有個被捲入黑霧的BE 3號黑毛 接下來走跟7號有關聯的3號黑毛線 本來以為黑毛是醫生,後來發現不是,黑毛在現實是科學家+特工的角色 這條線很雷,日常篇就開宗明義說他曾經交過女朋友,跟前女友糾纏不清,而且紅髮前女友戲份佔不少,還有二女爭一男的父權敘事劇情,十分討厭 路線分支多,革命線選擇跟7號走會進入南國海島篇,還有兩個BE(一個沒交心的遺忘結局,一個革命代價結局),一個NE(革命後留在夢中世界,開始新旅程) 女主武力值低,作用只是被人保護、做飯做家務,不愧被稱為有日乙味的遊戲,複製了日乙的髒男人+虐女+綠帽癖+小白花女主…… 紅心結局:女主問黑毛跟前女友的關係,有牽手擁抱接吻……男人的貞潔程度不是看陽具中心的父權標準而來,單是這幾點就已經不是個乾淨的男人了 不知道為什麼刷不到藍心結局,試了很久才出藍心結局,結果很失望:女主遇到黑毛不相認,到女主有危險才現身,時常深陷險境,無法過穩定生活,所以不打算認真戀愛結婚 南國海島篇 遇見第一代的女主,交談留在現實還是夢中世界,兩個結局都有點意味不明 1號白毛 接著想知道大boss的黑幕,所以走1號白毛的線 想不到濫交男的骯髒程度一山還有一山高,完美符合爛JJ定論:不懂愛情,曾經交過十九個女友然後又莫名其妙甩掉她們,玩弄女性感情和身體,遇到女主就知道愛情了,雖然身體很髒啦~但心未曾給過其她女人,女主是第一個令爛JJ動心的女人 紅心結局:女主外表衰老,白毛年輕,白毛不嫌棄女主的老,展現了超越外表的真摯愛情啦(笑) 藍心結局超離譜:女主只有夢中世界的記憶,在現實倒貼白毛,主動請求做白毛的第二十個女友……哇!孝感動天……登時被父權女的綠帽癖+征服男人的自信雷倒了! 4號紫毛 不想走跟真相有關+看似變態佬的粉毛路線,接下來走4號紫毛殺人犯(好似沒多少分別?) 紫毛武力僅次於藍毛,日常篇一路上執行任務kill人kill得最多 本來看女主調戲小正太臉紅心跳挺好的,後面簡直驚天大雷 首先,紫毛疑似喜歡以前一起合住的兄妹的妹妹,哥哥猜測妹妹寫過許多情書給他,對比之後的雷,這不算是什麼大事 現實的紫毛是個黑社會父親的兒子,這樣的背景下髒男人濫交機率大增 BE更是可怕:女主慘遭路人強暴,紫毛見到立即衝動殺人,所以兩人不能在一起,女主被強暴的設定是為了凸顯紫毛的苦衷;多年後,女主女兒遇上疑似拐賣被紫毛阻止,凸顯紫髮的守護諾言 雖然編劇想凸顯紫毛的守護如何偉大,在我看來,他的行為實際上是真·跟踪狂 在性關係上,劇情非常強調男孩子和男人的分別,男孩子不能擦邊波+有性慾+做不了性行為,意味著擁有陽剛氣質的男人才能有性,覺得有點雷(雖然可能是考慮到現實道德問題) 店長特別篇 看似是可愛柔弱小正太一枚,真身是有鬍鬚的中佬大叔一名 職業是記者,聲稱過著浪子生活,女人如火車窗外的風景一樣在生命中一瞬即逝 小孩子模樣是愛依賴人的性格,成人就是所謂的成熟穩重男人的佬味,非常噁心 好結局是女主記得店長的名字,接受告白 BE是女主角忘記名字,兩人無疾而終 2號粉毛 接著到已看劇透知道是雙重人格的2號粉毛,又是一個驚天大雷 粉毛是進入夢境的三個科學家之一,而且是散佈黑煙加劇毀滅世界的元兇,這條線非常虐女 粉毛現實中有女友,以現實的美好記憶存活,因藥物作用而逐漸失去現實記憶,分裂出一個承受痛苦的衝動暴力人格 這人格強暴了女主,女主聖母心發作包容他的惡行會HE 硬要女主跟強暴犯糾纏在一起,跟強暴犯共處和交際,簡直是無言,令人作嘔,雷到不得了! 對於現實女友而言,他喜歡女主等同於精神出軌 紅心結局:粉毛勾搭上女主,甩了原女友 藍心結局:粉毛找回原本現實的女友,女主找到粉毛跟他相認,知道他跟女友快要結婚,只有女主一人受傷的世界達成了 6號黃毛 接下來是從粉毛口中情報透露的黃毛6號,走下去發現沒有什麼神秘的地方,而且跟粉毛說的有衝突,6號根本不是科學家之一,只是一個平平無奇的小混混 黃毛的雷點在於高中學壞,認識一群壞朋友,不上學,這麼mk做過什麼事情也不足為奇 可以算是跟真相最不著邊際的一條線,女主簡直跟老母親一樣湊仔又擋刀 紅心結局:不怎麼樣,沒有什麼特別 女主做的前男友夢和7號戲份還比較有存在感 藍心結局:黃毛跟人合夥打劫,遇到女主不相認,特意放過她一馬,而女主認到其中一個犯人就是他 5號紅毛 最後到紅毛5號線,預設是輕浮mk風,想不到竟然曾經為還賭債而做了一年鴨,行為舉止很沒界線,隨意侵犯女主的私人領域 而且係欺詐犯,說話分不清真偽,很喜歡捉弄女主,很明顯的一個爛JJ 紅心結局:紅毛為了找女主,做大明星賣弄色相來成名,果然鴨性難改,找到女主後就馬上性交 藍心結局:女主對前男友念念不忘,紅毛強暴女主,意圖佔有女主,是典型的「得不到你的心,但要得到你的身體」的父權性別敘事,十分噁心
After taking a while of getting warm with the story this visual novel really surprised me. The reason it took me a little longer to get warm with it, was because you play an adult and the boys are...well...little boys. But I am glad I kept playing despite feeling a little awkward about this, because the story turns out way more complex. Towards reaching my first ending I kinda figured out what the whole thing was...but yet the ending took me off guard and made me wanna play again right away, to find out more about it in the other routes! The English translation was sometimes a little rocky to read but that is the only "negative" thing I can say about this game (plus I am not a native English speaker and shouldn't complain about this ;D)
This game is pretty disturbing on many levels though the worst offender is the translation/language. Not only are there spelling mistakes, but some words are just strangely translated (e.g. it is a mess hall or a dining room, not a restaurant), which makes it sometimes extremely difficult to follow the plot. Then the plot, which I would say is to some degree the game's saving grace...I like that the "right" thing to do does not always lead to a happy ending. This makes it more enjoyable to play than many other games of its kind. Most of the routes have interesting stories, enough to make one want to play through them all once you get used to the language issues and can stomach some of the more disturbing content. Some of this include the fact that I would say most of the boys insult you on a regular basis and it is a bit disturbing that you are an adult, and these are boys (regardless of the circumstances). The game description did warn you though that it is a game “full of vicious real factor”, don’t take that warning too lightly. Most of the CG's are beautiful and some of the endings truly make for interesting stories as a whole. I know I have my favourite. I am a bit sad that the steam achievements are not translated. All in all, if the translating was better I would have recommended the game, especially since I bought it on a special, but as it stands it is torturous to play through.
