An average match 3 game. If you going to buy it wait for a sale.
This game has promise, but it's lazy. There are lots of bugs, I've had to restart the game a half-dozen times just trying to finish one of the more difficult puzzles. The difficulty is terribly uneven. The "levels" aren't actually designed, each time you enter one you get a random field, so sometimes it's necessary to leave and reenter a level multiple times before you get a configuration that can actually be completed without insane luck... and many boards will still require a lot more luck than skill. This could have been a good game, but it's nothing more than a mediocre time waster.
https://youtu.be/Q5IoGKdbVaU An insane match 3 game with various levels, goals and objectives. 15 minutes of 2 Planets Fire and Ice gameplay without commentary so you will have a good impression of the game without any big spoilers. Read the full review and more info below. 2 Planets Fire and Ice Review: This is a match 3 game just like Popcap's famous Bejeweled. You have to match 3 or more of the same colored jewels and they disappear. The more gems you group the better specials and combo's you get. 2 Planets Fire and Ice itself is a lot of fun, every level has a different objective. Remove all of the same colored gems, remove all fields with only special items, balance the amount of 2 colored gems that you destroy. It gets more addictive once you understand the objective you need to get. Some levels are easy, some ridiculously difficult and will force you to try multiply times. There are a ton of power ups like time freezes, fire bombs, line destroyers, free moves and many others. 2 Planets Fire and Ice game is good casual fun especially if you like match 3 games. On PC: When I started the game up it didn't work... not a great beginning. I had to edit some windows settings as can be seen in the video of the developer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=38&v=9CMen9zQ9vs Once that was changed the game worked. Do note to set back these settings after playing... Even with the above bug I still recommend it because it is pretty addictive :) The Good: - Great gameplay - Fun levels - Good graphics - Nice sounds The Bad: - Didn't start with windows 10, had to use the workaround - Some bugs and sometimes sprite/images not disappearing The game can be completed in about 5 hours, depending on your pace and skill.
boring match-3
Recieved this in a bundle. Played to completion. Definitely wouldn't pay more than a dollar for this. This feels like a very old and generic match 3 game, and honestly there are better games out there with these dynamics.
2 Planets Fire and Ice is a fast-paced match-three puzzle game developed by rokaplay and published by familyplay and Markt+Technik that successfully builds upon a familiar formula through a clever dual-world concept and a substantial amount of content. While the core mechanics remain recognizable to anyone who has spent time with match-three games, the title distinguishes itself by offering two distinctly different gameplay styles, a large collection of stages, and a steady stream of varied objectives that keep the experience engaging from beginning to end. The game's central theme revolves around two opposing worlds that shape how players approach its challenges. The Ice Planet offers a calmer and more methodical experience, allowing players to analyze the board and make decisions at their own pace. In contrast, the Fire Planet introduces a much more intense style of play where every second matters. This split between relaxed and time-sensitive gameplay is one of the game's most effective features because it caters to different moods and playstyles. Players can enjoy thoughtful puzzle-solving sessions when they want a more relaxed experience, or switch to the Fire Planet when they are looking for greater excitement and pressure. At its core, the gameplay revolves around matching groups of gems to clear objectives and progress through increasingly challenging levels. While this concept is simple, the game consistently introduces new tasks that prevent the formula from becoming stale. Rather than relying exclusively on score targets, many stages introduce unique conditions that force players to think differently. Some objectives focus on removing specific gem colors, while others require clearing obstacles, activating special tiles, or triggering carefully planned chain reactions. This variety ensures that players remain engaged and must continually adapt their strategies. One of the most impressive aspects of the game is the sheer amount of content available. With approximately 140 levels spread across multiple gameplay styles and challenge types, there is far more here than the average casual puzzle game. The progression feels substantial, and the developers do an excellent job of gradually introducing more demanding mechanics as players advance. New challenges arrive frequently enough to keep the campaign feeling fresh, making it easy to lose track of time while pursuing just a few more levels. The game's pacing deserves particular praise. The Fire Planet, in particular, transforms traditional match-three gameplay into a frantic race against the clock. Players must quickly scan the board, identify opportunities, and react immediately as new possibilities emerge. This creates a constant sense of urgency that rewards quick thinking and efficient decision-making. The faster stages are often some of the most exciting moments in the game because they require both strategic planning and rapid execution. At the same time, the Ice Planet provides a welcome contrast by allowing players to approach puzzles at a more deliberate pace. Without the pressure of a timer, players can focus entirely on finding the most effective moves and planning longer combinations. This slower style of play highlights the strategic depth hidden beneath the game's accessible mechanics. The contrast between the two planets helps prevent monotony and gives the overall experience a greater sense of variety. Special gems and power-up mechanics add another layer of enjoyment. Larger matches often create enhanced pieces capable of producing powerful effects that can dramatically alter the board. Triggering these special abilities at the right moment can clear large sections of gems, create massive chain reactions, or help complete difficult objectives. Learning how to create and maximize these effects becomes increasingly important as the difficulty rises, and successfully executing a well-planned combination remains consistently satisfying. The visual presentation is bright, colorful, and easy to read. Gem designs are distinct, animations are smooth, and the effects generated by chain reactions and power-ups create rewarding bursts of visual feedback. The contrasting themes of fire and ice are reflected throughout the environments, helping each world establish its own personality. While the graphics are not particularly complex, they are polished and perfectly suited to the game's fast-paced puzzle gameplay. Sound design contributes positively to the overall experience. Matching gems, triggering explosions, and activating special abilities all produce satisfying audio feedback that reinforces successful moves. The music complements the pace of the gameplay and helps maintain momentum, particularly during the more frantic timed stages. Together, the visuals and audio create a polished presentation that enhances the addictive nature of the puzzle mechanics. Accessibility is another major strength. The basic rules are easy to understand, allowing newcomers to jump in quickly without lengthy tutorials. However, the increasing complexity of later levels ensures that experienced puzzle fans still encounter meaningful challenges. This balance between simplicity and depth helps the game appeal to a broad audience and gives it lasting replay value. The game's main weakness is that it remains firmly within the boundaries of the match-three genre. Players seeking a strong narrative, extensive progression systems, or innovative mechanics beyond the puzzle framework may find the experience somewhat familiar. However, the developers compensate by refining the formula and providing enough content and variety to keep players engaged for a considerable amount of time. What makes 2 Planets Fire and Ice particularly enjoyable is its ability to offer two distinct experiences within a single package. The relaxed strategy of the Ice Planet and the frantic energy of the Fire Planet complement one another perfectly, ensuring that players always have a different type of challenge available. Combined with a large number of levels, varied objectives, and satisfying power-up mechanics, the game delivers a consistently entertaining puzzle experience. 2 Planets Fire and Ice is a well-crafted match-three title that succeeds through strong pacing, substantial content, and thoughtful design choices. It may not revolutionize the genre, but it offers enough variety, challenge, and replayability to stand out among many of its competitors. For fans of puzzle games who enjoy both strategic planning and fast-paced action, it provides a rewarding adventure filled with colorful challenges and hours of engaging gameplay. Rating: 6/10
A gem-matching game, match up three more gems to get points and power-ups, a lot of power-ups and even some things that make matching your gems harder like making them all dull and hard to see. https://youtu.be/w-f5snWO8qA
