"People started seeing you the way they wanted to see you" Short and stylish game, highly recommended if you’re looking for a collection of nostalgic games that evoke the arcade era, albeit with a surprisingly emotional undertone. The soundtrack is pretty good and that’s what ultimately won me over, though if you want to complete 100% of the game, it’s pretty tough as there are hardly any checkpoints. Works great on the Deck.
The game is playable and enjoyable for a short experience. After finishing it, you can select specific levels from the menu, which makes it easier to go back and complete the more challenging achievements.
Wow. Somehow this is even more cringe than Mixtape, with even worse mini-games. This could have been such a good game, but instead it's amateurish (no volume settings even) and woke. The longest pans, the longest fades, the worst VA. Pretentious watched Krillin die and went Super-Pretentious. The main character is a nonbinary who has a crush on a punk rock dude with she/her pronouns... I think... idfk. Remember how frustrating arcade games were cuz they were basically stealing money from children? They've kept it all! Music and art style are really good. But, it doesn't make up for the fact that it takes like 20 seconds to quit the game. I'm not kidding, you click quit on the main menu and it slow fades for 5 seconds before it closes your game. jfc. 10/10 - IGN
So I just stumbled across some screenshots of this game, 4 years now after I finished it and looking back I really need to recommend you try out this Game. This was probably one of the best little retro games I've ever played and paired with the melancholic "coming of age" vibe, the music and the voice acting it really reached peak. Just start up this game if you ever feel nostalgic or lost, no matter your phase in life or your age - you won't regret it ;)
This game has 5 different games inside (a beat 'em up, a space shoot 'em up, an arcade racer, a challenging ninja action game (like an auto-runner/platformer), and a first-person dungeon crawler RPG) all used to tell a coming-of-age story of a young person in the 1980's. The music and style are great, and the gameplay is challenging and enjoyable enough, but it unfortunately is a master of none. As people have said, it is super short, so I would recommend to buy while on sale. It also runs great on the Steam Deck.
Bitte gebt dem Spiel mal, alle Liebe mit ❤️
Its gorgeous pixel art and great soundtrack do a lot to elevate a collection of okay mini arcade game pastiches sewn together with the start of a story it seems like we may never get. I would be curious to see what the followup to this would be, but as is, I could take or leave this experience: not bad, but not great.
No joke, I literally only bought this because it’s the game my Steam Artwork is based on
The story is you being the emo outcast or something and just wanna get lost in the videogame world, that's more or less the narration with little dialogue in it. You're playing 5 Arcade-Games in a row and it took my about over an hour to finish the game. The games itself are fine for what they are but in the end... they remain Arcade-Games.
Game 4 of my "Play every game in my library" adventure. Graphics are typical for arcade game like retro game, not my type and the gameplay does also not match me. Would give it a solid 3.7/10 points.
