Henry Villemaine’s mansion is constantly shifting : faces change in photographs, furniture moves when you’re not looking... Use post-it notes to mark objects and keep them fixed in place as you explore.
Henry’s personal journal is your only trustworthy guide. Through its pages, relive intimate moments of family life and interpret his memories to restore each room, deducing the correct placement of furniture and objects.
Every room holds the silent truth of a member of the Villemaine family. Set the mansion right to reveal long-buried secrets… and uncover whether your role in this mystery is more than that of a simple investigator.

Highly recommended. It is a unique puzzle game that makes you feel imersed in its atmosphere where you feel a slight uneasiness and warm nostalgia at the same time. Its tricks make you feel off-balance and feel like it is almost trying to manupulate your memory.

An immersive game with beautiful graphics and a soundtrack that perfectly complements it. The story is interesting and original. I would have liked the game to be longer and have some animations to make it less static, but for a free game, it's absolutely fantastic.
The controls are a bit harder to get used to in the beginning, but you get over that fairly quickly. The story is absolutely crushing and even when you think you know most of it already, new pieces of information come up and you are thrown under another huge wave of emotions. Overall an amazing, a little over an hour long, game that I would definitely recommend, if you like a bit of a - not-that-difficult - detective work and "diary-driven" mechanics (and hurting yourself emotionally).
Please take the warning at the beginning seriously and play this game only if you are able to handle heavier themes well. Especially if you are currently struggling with issues related to
dementia, alcoholism, or loss,
you might be better off giving it a pass. I’m not sure if starting it today was such a good idea, but once I was immersed, I felt compelled to see how it ended. What followed was an intense hour of "walking simulator" gameplay, featuring clever—and at times quite challenging—puzzles (though the gameplay itself is very forgiving). Technically speaking, there was nothing to complain about either. It may not be *Edith Finch* or *Gone Home*, but it’s not far off—and it’s free.
12 Memory Lane is a walking simulator where every room in a beautifull designed house unravels a little bit more of the family plot with light deduction. The phone was meant to ring between chapters but didn't happen for me, so wandered around aimlessly for a bit wondering if I'd missed something obvious. I liked how the furniture and objects would shift to symoblise Henry's confused state of mind and respect the sensitive treatement of dementia
