Pachinko, Ball x Pit, and Bubble Bobble apparently had a great night here, and the result is this little gem. Great sound, great graphics—it really draws you in if you like this kind of game. I tried the demo, and it hooked me right away—I just had to get the full version. (Which actually never happens to me on Day 1!) It’s fun to complete the different levels, unlock upgrades, and gradually get better and better. If you like the graphics and this kind of game, you can go ahead and buy it without hesitation; for anyone who’s unsure, there’s a demo to try out. (was mir an Tag 1 eigentlich nie passiert!)
maybe the real friends were the pizzas we ate along the way

100Friends starts simple, but it becomes more interesting and chaotic in so many different ways over time. You start with a run through a short dungeon, trying to beat its final boss with a handful of options for the random friends you'll find, which are like pinballs with special abilities. But then you start working through the meta-progression, and after beating the first boss, you start unlocking more options for crazy friends you can find. Starting the second dungeon, there are minibosses and other obstacles you have to get through. I just got to the 4th of 6 dungeons, and just unlocked 2 entire new meta-progression systems: pets and something that I think is equipment. There's some cursor or cannon system I ran into hours ago and still haven't figured out yet. There are a couple of keywords for build synergies like food and companions, but that's not what this game is really about. It's about getting a run with 3 different friends that all push your friends around in different ways, and then if you ever have a round where you draw all 3 of those friends, the entire screen explodes in a tornado of chaos as your friends bounce off of each other and the enemies thousands of times each, faster than you can watch them. It's really cool how the simple rules like "the moon friend sticks to enemies and pulls other friends to it" end up interacting with so many other effects to make every round different. I'd like to see more ways to manipulate the different random draws you get, especially the sequence of which friends in your deck are active in a given round, and the selection of friends and buildings for the current run. Halls of Torment is a cool survivors game that has an alchemist that lets you control more and more about the random selection element in that game as you get deeper in it. It would be really satisfying to be able to lock an offered friend so you can pick it up the next time. Or to mark a friend to always try to reroll them if they pop up in your friend sequence, since that ends up being most of the downtime and slows down the crazy pace. 100Friends is a lot of fun if you like roguelites or meta-progression, with tons of variety. There's clear attention to detail, in the music, the boss encounters, and little things like tutorials showing up as the friends you've found talking to you.
great roguelike with bomb soundtrack! i might even just leave the music on to vibe to lol. game is addictively fun and i really appreciate all the care that went into each and every friend and i can't wait to meet them all. it's very satisfying to clear the levels. physics are solid and whooshy. great game can't recommend enough :)
Genuinely fun ngl
I am having a blast playing this. The friends have really neat synergies and you can make some crazy builds. Hers is some super early game footage https://youtu.be/DpQlwW7-z1g
Honestly, I dont normally play games like this, but it sounded fun and fresh so I figured I'd give it a go. I'm now about 17 hours in and dont regret it one bit. A super fun brick breaker game with so much to play with. The friends are incredibly unique that I tried every one, and was surprised how some meshed so well together. My builds were insane! Sometimes I failed but thats part of the fun. It starts off easy to get you going and then gets harder with every boss. It never felt stale to me because all my runs were different. Different levels, different bosses, different friends, even different cannons! If youre thinking about picking this up I'd say go for it. So much replay value as well. Even if you complete the main game there are trials afterward that make the game even harder. 10/10 for me. Would recommend a thousand times over. Oh, and the soundtrack is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ heavenly. It did not need to go that hard for a game like this. Jesus
Very fun. I guess I'd call it some weird child of pinball, pachinko, and breakout. Or maybe a turn-based BallXPit. You line up a shot, and then shoot out a whole bunch of balls to break the enemy bricks above you. Over the course of a run, you increase the number of balls you shoot, draft new ball types that have a probability of replacing the basic type, place buildings at the bottom which have various effects as balls land in them, reroll which ball types will show up for the shot, and use active items or special abilities of your cannon. Before the runs, you choose a cannon type which can change up how you shoot or give you one of the aforementioned special abilities, as well as a pet which gives you a passive bonus. There's enough going on to keep it engaging and the higher level dungeons can be challenging at times, but it's laidback enough that it's perfect to throw on while listening to a podcast if you want. The synergies between different ball types and buildings are great at giving you that increasing feeling of power like you'd get on a broken run of Binding of Isaac.
Super fun, super satisfying and with amazing pixel art and music. On top of that its super reasonably priced and the dev seems like an earnest, awesome guy. It sounds like he even has plans to expand the game further in the future! The core gameplay is fun and actually pretty deep once you get into the deeper logistics of planning your shots based on what friends you have in your lineup that turn and what not. There is even a lot of meta-progression to dig into. If you enjoy Ball X Pit, roguelites in general or just games with a ton of charm and soul, I highly recommend it!
This game's awesome! It's cute, it's got numbers going up really high, it's got pizza and hamburgers. It's Ball X Pit but turn-based and a much more appealing aesthetic to me personally. I love making friends! This game is also cheap as hell right now?? -40% off launch discount? You're basically paying five bucks for a full-feature game? I almost feel guilty paying that little on launch day, because this is just as fun as games I paid a lot more for like Balatro and 9 Kings.
