100 Candy Cats

[H1]Two levels. Six minutes. That’s the headline.[/H1] Another 100 Cozy Games title that asks for more coins than it hands back in content. This one gives you two levels. Two. I cleared both in 6 minutes total, no hints. The first took me about 2 minutes, the second 4. And that’s it. For the price tag? It’s rough. I’ve also started noticing they wait 12 to 24 hours after launch to release the “complete your collection” bundle. With how often they publish, that delay feels calculated. Not exactly consumer friendly. On the gameplay side, it’s the usual hidden cat hunt. Unlimited hints recharge quickly and highlight a general area without affecting achievements. Achievements follow normal completion, and zoom is actually great, credit where it’s due. There’s the usual black and white mode and optional timer, plus the normal color mode (which is intense this time). It’s bright. Very bright. But the color isn’t used to create depth or extra challenge with the cats, so difficulty stays very low. Now the downsides: It's way too short. Six minutes total is not enough to justify the cost, even on sale, especially with almost no challenge involved. Achievement clutter continues as usual and with both maps fully visible in the preview images on the store page, you already know exactly what you’re getting. If you’re sensitive to bright colors, this one might be a visual assault. As much as I love a quick cat hunt, this feels more like a demo wearing a full price sticker. [h1]IT'S A LITTLE GLITCHY ON LARGE SCREENS[/h1] The graphics are really bright and colorful, but I had issues when using the Hint feature. I have a 38" monitor, and the edges were cut off, making it difficult to see the cats hidden along the edges.  I finally gave up on the last few cats and used the Hint feature, but every time I used it, the screen resolution bounced around every time I clicked. I ended up having to click the hint button and then exit the screen and return to be able to click on the last few cats, which was kind of annoying. This game works a bit differently than most. The scene and cats are already in color, so you click to remove the cats from the scene versus clicking to color in the cats. Under most circumstances, the cats are easier for me to spot on a full-color drawing, so I do prefer finding them on a black & white scene, but if you want a whimsical, colorful cat-themed game, this will definitely delight you. It is not a game where you need to overthink or solve complicated challenges; instead, you can simply enjoy searching for the hidden cats and decompress after a long day. Some cats are cleverly hidden, making the discovery process enjoyable, while the hint system is there to help whenever you cannot find one. The artwork and music fits together nicely and create a cozy atmosphere. Overall, it is a charming and calming game that offers a pleasant way to relax.
