Graphically Assisted Scripting
001 Game Creator offers creators the ability to craft intuitive and imaginative games without any prior coding knowledge. This is especially beneficial to artists and designers who prefer a more hands-on and visualised approach or developers who don’t wish to spend hours bashing their head against a wall. Unlike traditional Event-Driven Programming applications, 001 Game Creator offers a huge set of built-in events, with the ability to also create custom events for specific tailor-made functionality just for your games.
PC, Steam HTML5 & mobile development all-in-one
001 Game Creator allows developers to build their games for Windows PCs (exe) - with Steam API support (achievements, statistics, etc.), HTML5 (js/html) and mobile devices (apk) all-in-one! Unlike other similar engines, 001 Game Creator provides developers with the freedom to create their games for all available platforms without paying anything extra. Best of all, there are no additional license or revenue fees for selling your games - so if you’ve purchased a copy of 001 Game Creator you can sell your games without having to share the profits with us!
Play games with everyone
001 Game Creator gives developers the tools to create ambitious online multiplayer/co-op experiences with built-in networking features (TCP/IP). In addition, 001 Game Creator also allows developers to create local multiplayer experiences with up to four players - with multiple gamepad support included.

its ok but for now no thx
I've just started making an RPG game on 001 Game Creator. I'm still trying to figure out some of the things I can add, but so far this game is good.
Underrated engine, better than RPG Maker, but with a dated user interface and a lack of online tutorials
Awesome program for making games if you hate APIs and Tutorials and having other people teach you stuff. If you are the type of person who wants to press buttons and see what they do and then make a game this is the engine. Just wish it let me have more than one window open at a time.
Update as of 5/27/25: I still feel a lot of the below is true, and I don't know if I recommend this engine anymore. I've returned to using it - as hypothetical as it may be - but only because of the ease of use. I have tried ODK again, and think it's come a long way. I still just feel completely lost with it, tough. Maybe I'm just biased or just cynical. Original Review: 001 Game Creator used to be a cozy game engine. Making it easy to just create almost anything you want. I have used this engine over the years, over 1000 hours spent in it. I want to keep using it, but I feel the support for it has just flat-lined. Why is that? Well... Let me preface, I get it, dedicating resources to a new engine is difficult, and 001 has big limits. At the same time, it is still the one I know best. I purchased it one time and get to keep it, use it as much as I can. I will also be mentioning Open Dev Kit in this review, that is because it is advertised withing 001 Game Creator, thus making it non-superficially valid. But now, the updates have slowed, and they don't bring truly new features. Everything just feels like a soft gotcha to draw people in and advertise Open Dev Kit (ODK). And there are HUGE issues that I just personally can't get over when comparing the two, including how SoftWeir treats their users. We will compare the differences that, in my opinion, break the deal: 1. 001 Game Creator is localized with no subscription needed. ODK requires a subscription, constantly internet connection, and limits save space on servers. - Don't get me wrong, having a backup like that is invaluable, but it's not worth it if I can't edit when the, let's say, internet goes out? Power? I'm on the move and get inspiration in a hotel room? Plus, I have backup storage of my own. 2. The language has changed, and if you're not comfortable with learning a new one, then it's not worth subscribing to another software. 3. If you have any worries about the direction of Engine or ODK, then don't expect a pleasant response. You will be cold shouldered, or even belittled when making an observation about, lets say, the always online part. I want to leave Engine as a yes, but why do that when you can just download Unreal, FOR FREE and use it OFFLINE. Yeah, you sell the $100,000 worth of games and owe them money, but what if I make it free? Like I was going to do with Engine.
Great editor!
