Amazingtastic exceptional supergame
Rougelike deck builders always have luck involved but never have i seen one where you can lose turn 1 and do nothing about it. Difficulty is fun when the player can use their skills to overcome it not when i have to restart the run 23 times to get past week 1

An addicting rogue-like deckbuilder with board game-esque vibes. Positives: Great art, sound design, and overall presentation. Very fun and snappy gameplay loop. Runs advance quickly (as long as you increase the animation speed!) with basically no downtime or unnecessary time sinks. Runs are also easy to jump in/out of and you are able to play at whatever pace you like. Negatives: The balancing is a bit crazy. It can feel like half of the trinkets, animals, or zookeepers are just flat out useless or irrelevant after the first week or so, thus making most “good” runs feel samey. I experienced more than a few glitches regarding how animals are scored or tiles in hand being stuck until the game is closed and reopened. The game can feel extremely RNG dependent. Conclusion: You will know right away whether Zoominoes is for you or not. This game is right up my alley, so I meshed with it instantly and am willing to overlook its flaws because the gameplay loop is so rewarding; however, those flaws still undeniably exist and will undoubtedly turn some people away. I do not think Zoominoes has the complexity or depth of games like Balatro or Slay the Spire, but if you like casual roguelikes (or especially deck builders) I would recommend giving it a shot. I personally have had a blast with the game up to this point, and I could see myself easily doubling or tripling the hours I currently have.
Top notch, has a few small bugs but it is a small team with a very recent release date. Still fantastic if you like games about "number go up".
Fun, great visuals
I am completely obsessed with this game. The starter characters are a little boring, but there's a LOT more to unlock that are much more interesting, and thankfully the core gameplay is already good. Fun, challenging, full of surprises and excitement. 10/10, one of the best games I've played this year. I expect to be putting a lot more time into it.
I like it so far, I keep wanting to do new runs when I inevitably fail because I get greedy
more fun that in looked in the videos. worth a pickup. Its a neat little deck builder.
TL:DR; Take the simple but enjoyable game of dominoes, make the pieces 6 sided instead of 4, make it zoology themed and a bit of a Balatro-style number go up roguelike and you get Zoominoes! Let it never be said that consistent theming and a fun art direction cannot sell a game or make it more enjoyable. Its very much an example of "easy to learn, hard to master" kind of game, that really takes off when you find the character whose playstyle bonus and starting line-up gels best with the way you like to play. I'd prefer them all to be better balanced against each other, as the starting 3 are almost always a worse choice than every one you unlock after mathematically- but its not a big problem. As other critiques have said, the main flaw in the game mechanically is that the mythic creatures make the game too easy once you have them. They need to either be powered down significantly, or made much rarer. It is not overexaggeration to say that even on the highest difficulties, the right mythic creature entering your deck wins the game there and then and all you have left to do is play the turns out. A lot of the mythic creatures are much easier to play well with than the defaults, so you don't even have to try as hard. Overall I really liked it, I think if the mythic creature overpower and overabundance was fixed I'd personally enjoy this more than Balatro. The way the 6 sided and colour coded dominos work just clicks better in my brain than the Poker setup for me.
