Its literally a simplified, less visually appealing version of the wildlife park games. It is extremely limited and it doesn't have the excuse of being early access because all it did was lift some of the previous games. Wildlife park 1 and 2 are much better games for less. Save $10 and buy one of them if you want this game.
Overview
Zoo Constructor is the latest park management games by b-alive; developer of the classic Wildlife Park series. This new entry puts a twist in their formula with a more arcade style game and a colorful, toy-like aesthetic. Keep animals and paying visitors happy as you build and manage a humble little zoo into a renowned park for wildlife from all over the world. This new game trades more complex economic and advanced building mechanics for a great deal of charm and ease of play. Zoo Constructor is in Early Access. The following is a review of the game in its state at the time of publishing
Pros

Simple to learn mechanics that scale up to later levels
Good animal selection
Intuitive terrain, biome, and placement tools

Cons

Can get repetitive
Guest and animal object detection range is too short
Models and animations need improvements

Story
Zoo Constructor has no traditional story mode. You take management of all aspects of a zoo in one of multiple biomes and take on the challenge of either taking it from a one to a five star zoo, or just build a fun park with unlimited money at max level. Different parameters when starting a new save let you shape your game how you want it.
Gameplay
The heart of the game revolves about creating a haven for your animals that also provides entertainment for the visitors of your zoo. Animals require food, water and certain exhibit conditions like humidity, elevation, forests, etc. They also need enrichment objects like things to climb, jump, scratch, etc. or even herd size. On the other hand, guests need things like food, bathrooms, benches, and fun things to interact with. The current animal selection covers the quintessential zoo species with a good range of exhibit requirements. To help you build your zoo you have a variety of tools for placing animal fencing, guest paths and walls, along with the different animal objects and guest buildings. Tools are good and easy to use, especially the terrain tool, which you need to use a lot for animals that like hilly paddocks. Building and demolishing is equally straightforward and the grid placement system helps keep things simple. Guests do almost always get in the way of buildings, but you can thankfully move them elsewhere. Appeasing animals and guests while staying profitable is a major task. The game will get repetitive quickly if you don’t enjoy this balancing act. Higher levels and bigger zoos deal with the exact same things as new zoo; just on larger scale. This works a bit to the game’s advantage. The game essentially scales up the things you learn when starting out as you progress and unlock more animals and guest buildings. The transition to higher levels is a bit harsh though. Once you complete challenges, like keeping a certain number of “x-star level” species happy, you unlock the next level. This opens up new animal and buildings immediately. Higher levels guests instantly will start to pour in and demand higher level amenities. It’s a race to place things down and I sometimes found myself placing a certain item every so many feet so the guests can see it. Leveling up the zoo is fairly easy and can happen without much effort, but an objective list is available and often quickly completed. Animals and guest do detect newly placed items almost instantly which is great, they just have a very short sight range. They are fairly blind and might not see something if not standing right next to it. Animals can complain about not having things just on the other side of their paddock. Staff equally would let a sick animal die if it’s just far away enough. Needing to place guest items sometimes so unrealistically frequently limits some zoo arrangement freedom, but it is manageable.
Graphics
Zoo Constructor has gone for a colorful and playful art style where the world looks populated by little toy animals. I like the style and feel it’s befitting of the game. You can identify most buildings from your birds-eye view which is needed for the type of game. Vegetation, in particular, is very well done and more than just decoration. Animals can interact with a lot of plants and trees and will actually eat from them! I do wish there was more variety in the character 3D models though as your zoo if often populated by dozens of clones of the same guest. Just having random clothing colors would be enough to give some more guest variety. Animals could use some sprucing up as well but are better done. More female and male models for the different species are needed as only a few species have gender variety. Animals also can make weird animations, particularly interacting with objects in their exhibits. Smoother transitions between these interactions and their roaming or walking would help a lot. They don’t have to be realistic and stay with the art design of the game, just a little smoother. Guest and staff animations are fine, but I would like to see staff walk around as well, instead of standing like a robot waiting for their next task.
Sound and Music
Ambience and sound effects in the game are okay, though nothing spectacular. Given the style direction, realistic sounds would actually feel out of place. The music is good as well, but the music tracks are far too short and there are hardly any of them, leading to constant repetition. Transition between tracks is also very abrupt, about every 4 tracks or so. More general animal sounds and a lot more tracks are really all that’s missing.
Performance
The game mostly ran smooth for me even on larger zoos. I created an “Animal Reserve” test with lots of animals and interactive objects thrown about randomly and it all ran well. I believe some of the few slowdowns I experienced in general play was due to guest coding or pathfinding, and you do get a lot of guest as the zoo grows. Terrain tools and the UI are responsive, but I did experience some issues with the “move” tool. There was a noticeable framerate drop when moving an existing object and sometimes when placing a new object. Other tools, like the path tool, were more consistent near large guest crowds. The game also absolutely did not like Alt+Tab at all and would hang up on a black screen every time. I had to restart the game from that black screen every time, but I had no other errors or crashes if I could stay away from tabbing out. System Specs: i7-4770K, Win 10, GTX 1660 Ti, 16GB DDR3
Conclusion
Zoo Constructor is a colorful, fun, relaxing, easy to pick up and possibly a great first “park builder” game for kids. The simpler game mechanics are fine but do have a danger of getting repetitive as the hours pile up. Still, you can easily and quickly level a zoo, and then start with a new design on a new biome. I think the game can work great as a casual park builder. The game is a break away from the exact formula of previous games from the developer and I have to commend them for it. There’s a solid game here brimming with more potential and charm, and I hope to see it improve throughout its development. As it stands, Zoo Constructor gets its foundations right and just needs a little tweaking on top, which is the right approach for early access titles.
Early Access Notes
The developer has so far posted game updates roughly bi-weekly.
Zoo Constructor
This game is basically Wildlife Park 2 and 3 with a cubic animation style and grid. But despite that animation style, they managed to make this game look pretty good. The trees wave in the wind, and the shading is really solid in most cases. Granted, there's some wonky animal animations and the terrain definitely needs to receive some more attention. If they continue to work on the animation, the full release's visuals will be really solid. Now, the more important part: The gameplay. As I stated, it's none or less the same as Wildlife Park 2 and 3. It controls more easily than them though, largely thanks to the ability to place objects and terrain on a grid. The paths are also an improvement, because they don't half-merge with the surrounding terrain anymore, and you can actually individually pick which path and which curb to use. I would've liked that level of costumisation to expand to other objects. You still have to place down whole buildings and large decorations, with no choice in how they look. I would like to see more costumisation, with for example the option to have differently coloured or shaped roofs, or the option to pick from a few designs for your flags. So while the game is decent, a higher degree of customisation is needed to make it really good. The objectives to reach the next level of prestige are also pretty limiting. You have to get all level 1 animal species to advance to level 2, which is annoying when you're trying to build a zoo with a theme which one of the species doesn't fit. More animal species in each level (which I'm counting on, since this is only early access) or a lower treshold for advancing would help get rid of this problem. You also have to keep a certain number of visitors happy to advance. That is a pretty reasonable demand, but the visitors need for decoration already gets critical when they're ten tiles away from a decoration, so you end up spamming decorations. This goes for certain other demands too. The game would definitely be more enjoyable if the visitors were slightly easier to please, and if you weren't forced to get every animal species. All in all, I give this game a 6/10. The visual style is already pretty good, and even in early access the gameplay is decent for a building / management sim game. But for the full release to really be worth the money compared to other games in the same genre, it will need a higher degree of costumisation, and the objectives for reaching the next prestige level need to be less limiting.
Just...thank god Planet Zoo is out now.
In diesem Sinne: EMPFEHLUNG!

Follow The Cpt Froggy Club Curator Page for plenty more!
Zoo Constructor is a game about managing and building a zoo, taking care of exotic animals and their needs, building enclosures for them, and maintaining a complex climate for each type of animal in your zoo. Complete objectives to unlock new animals, buildings and other things to create a zoo the public will love! Zoo Constructor is brought to you by b-alive gmbh. Starting a new game, you’ll need to choose a name for your player; you can also add more players or remove any unwanted ones. Once you've chosen a name for your player, it's then on to the choice of four maps. These maps are Savannah, Rainforest, Boreal Area and Temperate Area. The maps are a of good size, so you’ll have plenty of space to build enclosures for the animals and attractions etcetera in your zoo. The Savannah is hot and dry, as is the Rainforest, but it’s also moist most of the time. The Boreal map is covered in forests, but the winters are long, cold and with plenty of snow. However, in the Summer the snow turns to rain as the temperature increases slightly. The final map, Temperate, is a mixture of half forest and half grasslands. It has a diverse climate characterized by the four seasons - cold in winter, warm in spring, summer is hot, and autumn has strong precipitation. All these different habitats will have their own problems and bonuses as you progress. After you've decided which map to play on, there's a few more options to select before hitting the Start button. These are Unlimited Credit On/Off, All Park Attractions Already Unlocked On/Off, Account Balance (default is 10,000) and finally the Park Level which you can increase from One Star to Five Stars. All of these settings will allow you to customise the game to your preferred difficulty. When your chosen map loads, you’ll notice a building in the middle on the left-hand side. This is the entrance to your zoo. It currently has a padlock icon with a red cross as your zoo isn’t open for business just yet. At the top centre of the screen there’s the amount of cash you currently have, along with the date, year and the weather. Sandwiched in between these you’ll find Pause, Play and Fast Forward icons. Looking around the map you’ll notice the different terrains; you can click on any section to reveal the ground types, trees, plants etcetera, which will vary depending on your chosen map. Before starting to create your zoo’s layout, you can, if you so wish, pause the time; clicking on the pause button in the top centre of the screen will allow you to build at your own pace, you can also just leave it so time passes by. You will also need to check your objectives before starting, they can be found by clicking on the bullseye and arrow icon in the top right. Clicking on this will reveal your objectives, which to start with, are to keep happy three different one-star animals and have ninety happy visitors. All the building items, types of animals, animal devices, maintenance people etcetera available to you are on the left-hand side of the screen. Not everything is available at once; each animal and building has a star rating (one to five). To begin with, you can only use those with one star, but as you complete the objectives, you’ll be able to use those with more stars. It’s probably best to check out the animals and their needs before you decide on building their enclosures. This way you can maybe save some pennies by building on terrain which suits a certain animal, rather than spending money on transforming that terrain. Depending on the map, you’ll find foliage, trees, water and other resources, all of which can be taken advantage of. You can remove plants and trees and replant them in enclosures of animals that eat those types of plants, saving you some more pennies as you won’t have to plant new ones. Now that you have an idea of the animals’ requirements, you can start building your zoo. Starting at the entrance, on the middle-left you’ll notice that a small walkway is already laid down. You must expand on this, as people don’t want to be walking through mud etcetera. So, you can either start by putting down walkways and then adding enclosures around the pathways, or you can layout your enclosures and then work a pathway around them; either way works fine. The maps are quite big, so there’s plenty of building space; however, it’s probably best to build close to the entrance. There may be some lovely looking terrain on the other side of the map but if people need to walk long distances before they see anything, they aren't going to be happy bunnies, and that’s bad for business. Once you’ve got your enclosures built for your animals, you can start adding things which will keep the animals happy, fed and watered. To keep the animals happy, you’ll have to add objects, such as places to scratch upon or boulders for jumping over, depending on the animal. You’ll also need to feed and water them; you can place water troughs in the enclosures, along with different types of plants and trees as food. You can also place meat bowls, fruit baskets and fish bowls to feed the animals, depending on an animal's diet. Animals can become unhappy if there are too few or too many of them in one place; some animals need to be in herds of certain sizes, like gazelles, who need at least six of them. You can now add the animals to their new homes and hopefully they’ll love it, although you’ll still need to keep them stocked with plenty of food and water. You can add a keeper, who will go around refilling the meat, fish bowls and fruit baskets as they will disappear over time as the animals stuff their boat races. As well as keepers there are also cleaners, gardeners, veterinarians and technicians you can employ to help run your zoo smoothly. To use these, just place them on the map where you’d like them to work; you can reduce or increase the area you’d like them working in. The only thing missing now is the public to wonder at your marvelous zoo, and they’ll need to be kept just as happy as the animals. There are services you can provide for them, like benches as people get tired and need to plonk their botties down (especially us old farts – hey, Froggy?!). People also need drinks and food, so you can add popcorn and ice cream booths, as well as a souvenir shop. Placing binoculars around the zoo so that folks can see the animals up close, along with restrooms and observation or information booths, will help keep the customers content and spending their hard-earned money, which will go towards new attractions and creating a bigger and better zoo. Now you’ve got everything sorted, it’s time to open the doors to the public so they can marvel at your magnificent zoo! To open the doors, you need to click on the padlock at the entrance and then click the key in the window which opens in the bottom right. Make sure you hit the play button up top if you’ve paused it while you build. I mean..... You get like 40 minutes to spend your money to house animals and then nothing slowly (it's agonizing) wait for people to come in. There's no tutorials at all..... Just gotta kinda fumble around while your animals slowly die as you struggle to find out how to feed them. Mistakes were made this day.

Grafik 5/10 Die Grafik muss man mögen ...
