First Person Horror Puzzles. You're on a boat mainly, lots of secrets and easter eggs to run around and find, plus a few different endings. A neat but sad story with a delightfully spooky atmosphere. https://youtu.be/Bs2_9ih8UA4?t=4332
A very impressive pice of art. well crafted. The detailed interaction with the environment is fantastic. Also is the atmosphere very well done. Its not a fast paced action based game, more a walking sim within an dream-logical structured environment, wich symbolise in a kryptical manner the guilt of the main chrakter. the cut-scenes have very lyrical quality. but is maybe a bit short for 10 Euro. But its okay to support new video game artist i guess. Bug: - the tabel in the kitchen diden´t rendered. the objects hovered but it still have collision information
This game is a completely waste of time. Nothing makes sense.
This was an OK game but it doesn't give you any directions. It's possible to get 100% and still not actually "finish" the game. There are 3 achievements tied to alternate endings and you can do them all without unlocking all parts of the game. Some funny easter eggs, but you really have no direction and a lot of the stuff is NOT obvious in the slightest. I had to look at a guide and even then... I think the game could use more clarity otherwise it's just pointless clicking around. It also bugged out a lot and crashed on me 3 times. If you want to continue to get the alternate endings it'll randomly reset various aspects, and achievements may not work at all unless you close and re-load the game
Really not worth it. You can see most of the game in the few screenshots and the video clip on the store page. ZAAM is a game that's trying to show a surreal nightmare world to embody a traumatic situation. The problem with this is that you will know what the traumatic situation is almost immediately, and the game is so short that there's very little to pull you in and make you connect. There's a moment at the end of the game that might emit some reaction from you, but for me it actually felt artificially creepy and less like an actual emotional moment. The story snippet on the game's store page is actually thrown out of the window the moment you find a couple of notes, in fact, and you can very quickly piece large chunks of the story together. (On top of that, there's a few parts of the story that I felt contradicted each other quite directly, or at least things were insinuated when they weren't supposed to be.) You spend most of the game on a ship collecting story notes and doing very simple puzzles to unlock dream-like sequences to show pieces of the overall conflict. You can complete the game in probably 30 to 45 minutes very easily. My playtime is longer because I decided to find all of the notes and did all of the endings to see if anything worthwhile occurred, but the answer to that is no. Nothing unique or worthwhile enough happened in each ending, and half of the notes you find felt like filler or just repeated something you already knew. I would not recommend this for anyone.
**CONTAINS SPOILER AT END OF REVIEW** Woweee! This was a very well told story game. Short, simple, easy and sweet. This was worth every single minute of me sitting down and just having an hour worth of fun. 10/10 would recommend. SPOILER BELOW: (The ending maybe sad, but you feel way more connected and attached via the story)
A little overpriced compared to its length, but overall good. It's not horror, it's not scary, but it has its atmosphere.
A weird horror game with a great atmosphere and an intriguing surrealist art style. Relatively short (about 2 hours long) ZAAM feels like a personal and experimental project. It is telling a sad story and the gameplay consists of exploring the environment to collect and relive 4 memories before reaching the endgame. There are also a lot of easter eggs to find. Those were actually fun to do/find but contrasted somewhat with the seriousness of the story. One of the memories also had some platforming to do, but after falling 3 or 4 times, we are brought back to the main area and can continue playing. So noobs at jumping like me dont need to worry about not completing the game. In all, I enjoyed the game. It is not perfect, but for a solo dev work, it is quite impressive.
