Reviews
Same as all the other negative reviews - I bought the original X at release, played it, loved it, but now feel super burned by the Proud release not having a DLC-style upgrade path. Really unfortunate, it's a great game.
Picked this up day one, literally within the month a superior version was announced (Ys X Proud Nordics) for $70 with no DLC or upgrade path. Only after this version finally released did NIS announce a 34% discount for original game owners...but this discount doesn't go into effect until next month... yet another slap in the face, with this and how they've handled Disgaea 7 on Switch 2 I don't think I'll be buying a NIS game at full price ever again. How can you not understand your western market yet understand american greed so well...?

Copied from user: GK, since it was 100% accurate with my opinion: PT-BR: Jogos da NIS, somente depois de 1 ano de lançamento e com promoção de pelo menos 70% valor, nunca mais compro nada em lançamento... English: What a humiliating release. >Be Nihon Falcom (+NIS) >Make a pretty solid Action RPG >Release it worldwide Oct 25 2024 to an awaiting audience >Announce enhanced "Proud Nordics" addition on December 18 2024, *eight weeks later* with extra content to get in on Switch 2 craze >People just say "well I'm not gonna buy X because Proud Nordics is gonna likely obsolete it" >February 20 2026, Proud Nordics releases >70$, 10$ more than Ys X >No upgrade path at launch, upgrade path isn't until March 6 2026 >"34% off!" which from 70$ is 47$, nearly 80% the cost of Ys X Nordics was >March 5 2026 is the last day for early purchase bonuses, can't get that *and* the upgrade Legitimately, what in the hell are they doing (And before anyone points the finger at NISA (as many are doing) Falcom and potentially NIS as a whole should be pointed towards as well, tired of this phenomenon of people giving Falcom a free pass like they don't have a choice in publisher and don't pull the same crap)
Purchased Ys X: Nordics. I enjoyed it. Then Ys X: Proud Nordics (the same game with a little additional content) was released. It blows my head that Ys X: Proud Nordics is a different game rather than a DLC . I refuse to purchase the same game twice, and I wouldn't recommend purchasing this one.
Learned a lesson never buying Japanese Game on Day One. This will be my last day one purchase.
The base game is 20 dollars more expensive than the re-release? lmao scam artists, man, I tell ya.
♥♥♥♥ these guys. They blatantly ripped of everyone who bought this game.
Really shady business with the Proud Nordics edition. Dedicated fans are the ones getting the shaft, but they figure we'll buy and put up with anything. I think they are about to learn a hard lesson. This right here... This leads to one thing: Yaaaaar... This will be the last Ys game I purchase.
