About
What is your violence?
If left with nothing else to do, what will you do to get your way with the universe?
Is it your fists?
Is it your power?
Is it your ideas?
Can you shape your violence into different forms?
Xross Dreams is also a game. Xross Dreams is also a tool. Xross Dreams is also a universe. Xross Dreams is also a story. Xross Dreams is a multi-dimensional ascension utility for the mind, heart, and soul.
If you're the loner type, you may pick a dreamer and follow their way through the universe as a series of puzzle games that you've never seen or played before but already might understand for some reason.
If you don't go alone, you will pick a pair of dreamers and carve a path of understanding through your entire community.
It has many modes.
It is a 2v2 fighting game with many characters.
It is a puzzle game that evolved into a new genre.
It is set to a jazzy drum n' bass soundtrack that will empower and relax you.
It can be played offline or online, with rollback netcode to guarantee a smooth experience.
In Xross Dreams, everybody has their own violence. Each dreamer plays a distinct puzzle game, some of which you may find familiar. When a dreamer inflicts their attacks on other dreamers, they send their own specific type of violence that the opponent must understand and tolerate. Matchups are just as important as individual skill. Some dreamers push your screen up from the bottom. Some dreamers drop useless pieces from the top. Some dreamers send you pieces that open into new pieces. All of these and more are possible.
In Xross Dreams, you aren't alone. You will find yourself in control of a team of 2 dreamers. You have the ability to switch between each of these 2 dreamers at will. You can only win by defeating all the dreamers on the opponent team before they do the same to you. Switching dreamers will open your mind to higher ideas and violent possibilities. You may even find yourself using abilities that manipulate the opponent's team if you're worthy of them.
Xross Dreams is a journey of discovery. Do you remember back when games had secrets? Why did they have secrets? What changed about the way we played games 20 years ago compared to the current information age? Even if you look up all the answers, what does that teach you about your learning process? What if we had the chance to experience the Wild West of information about a completely new type of competition? What strategies or stories will we conjure?
Xross Dreams opens your mind. It might be opening your mind right now. By coming into contact with this information, Xross Dreams can bless your consciousness with new ideas. The story of Xross Dreams is told with our lives, but the actual plot of Xross Dreams is told without words. How do you read a story with no words? All of this and more is possible.
Xross Dreams is the seventh chapter of The Moon Wars, a multi-part series in a universe terrifyingly close to ours.

Make the controls easier and I'll give it 3 stars. Make it steam deck compatible I'll give it 5 and tell everyone about it.
A Very Fun Puzzle game with alot of untapped potential. If you purchase the game and play it please keep a open mind that it is basically in early access. It has alot of fun characters and playstyles that represent almost all types of puzzle games over the years. With a incentive on the multiplayer and team composition as well as very good tutorials and fun single player story mode. The game has the potential to be the most intuitive and competitive puzzle game ever. Even so I have many hours in the game and if a competitive puzzle game with a fighting game feel and twist seems up your alley i suggest you give it a shot. If certain Characters/Dreamers fight each other they can cause various soft and hard crashes by basic gameplay. The rollback netcode that the game has does not work and desyncs. Confusing balance patches where changes are not explained clearly or at all (the "Fighter"s diamond is an example as it has had 3 variations and they have either not been mentioned or explained indirectly). If it was only one of these issues wouldn't be a problem with consistent updates to the game also with communication from the developer. But the updates have not happened in about a month and the developer has made not any statements to my knowledge. I am NOT saying the dev has to explain every balance change or mention every time that they are working on the game. I dont even want to say the game has to be in a perfect state I just feel its fair for people to make a informed purchase on the game as it is basically in early access and has some crash issues and the online does not work.
If Puyo Puyo versus Tetris sounds crazy enough for you, just imagine allmost all kinds of puzzle games fighting each other...
On the 12th day of Christmas, Aim For The Stars have sent to all of us… 12 Xross Dreams 11 Special Pieces 10 Puzzle Violence 9 MagDrop Gorillas 8 Puzzle Journeys 7 Comet Stackers 6 Bobble Dinos 5 Puyo Robots! 4 Panel Hives 3 Astronauts 2 Puzzle “Fighters” And a Goddess who respects Columns I am so surprised when Xross Dreams was released on Christmas 2022. A christmas gift to all puzzle gamers.
If you liked Puyo Puyo Tetris but were disappointed that your brain remained intact and functioning after playing it, this game's for you.
The game is cool, but the fact that there's little to no controller support and practically no way to back out of a menu once you're in it until you're in-game makes things a bit hard to navigate. EDIT: After playing it for like an hour, I'm not entirely sure I'd recommend it to people. Nothing is directly explained, aside from the tutorials telling you how each character's play-style works. Or, if there is, I couldn't find it. As for the "can't back out of menus" thing it's mostly just the screen where each player picks their side. The back button doesn't do anything and ESC won't work either (it even counts as an actual input key when setting controls, despite being the menu key). I tried the story mode, but genuinely got stuck on one part because a boss kept spawning adds and then immediately running before I can get a combo set up, and the enemies would have to eat my combo because I'd have to set up another one otherwise. Come to find out, there's a mechanic in the game that's not directly told to you where sending garbage (or whatever the alternative for that play-style is) during an AI's "thinking" phase will interrupt it for a bit and give you extra time to think. I feel like if the game had an overarcing tutorial that explained the general mechanics of fights it would really help new players. And also maybe making the Earlier Generation Robobeast not leave every 15 seconds...
This game is definitely a bit obtuse, but after understanding it more and more. I actually think I like it a lot. Very creative and pretty thoughtful feeling implementation of the overlaying mechanics and games at play. I appreciate the mystique to it all as well.
It's a little rough around the edges, but everything works well enough in local play and there is nothing else quite like it.
I've watched this game in development for quite sometime and proud to say it delivered what it set out to do. It's hard to believe this game was made mostly by only one person as is packed with so much. This game is a personal love letter to puzzle games, 90s video games, dogs and so much more. It only tells you enough to start playing and begs you to experiment with it's gameplay mechanics. Personally for me it recaptured that feeling you would get when you would go over to a friend's house and play a game that either of you didn't know anything about (I can switch characters? I wonder if can carry over damage If I time it right...). I find story mode to be punishingly difficult but have walked away from every match feeling like I've learned something new about that characters play style or of the accompanying character in that chapter. Everything presented in story mode is open to interpretation and leaves you to understand it the way that makes the most sense to you. As many have stated there are some bugs but not enough to personally ruin the game for me and the dev has been working non stop fixing everything being mentioned and recorded being brought up him. Network play is still getting it's kinks worked out at time of writing. Local play is fine which gives an alternative until then if you want to play with friends. Highly recommended if you enjoy puzzle games as every character either represents a classic gamestyle or is an entirely new game play. For the price your getting quite a bit of value.
Let me start by saying I love the crossover aspect, every character is fun to learn and all of them, as well as enemies, are fantastically converted. The presentation is surprisingly great, all characters ooze with charisma and the choice of music has really made a move on me, all resulting in an addicting game that I consider one of my favorites on my library. I'm not sure how much other positives I can give to this game, it's just really really made for me. Great job! Right now I'd like to play this game more but the single player is really limited: besides the plots, there is no Versus CPU mode and the sandbox mode is confusing. For a niche genre like action puzzles, I think having simple options to play alone should be a priority, and I'm really hoping a Versus CPU can be added in the future. There is a few bugs but they don't annoy me that much.
