The game key has been sent by the creator for doing a review and YouTube gameplay purposes. So, yeah, I'm after beating Hard mode, no perks run. So I can talk only about this difficulty. Hard is really tough if you aren't aware. Just a reminder. @EDIT: NoMercy mode is there, too, as seen on trailer. This one, without tactic, is impossible - stay away from it - go easy ;) The game is very, very well done - graphics, game mechanisms, ending at bullet patterns which are beautiful. Here you are flying with a ship who has two types of shot - straight shot when unfocused, homing when focused. Very fragile, but the tiny hitbox is your friend, like in every game of this type. Plus, you get rechargeable bombs, so in danger you can use it. We get six stages to beat, many bosses that will prevent you from winning, and much fun with doing all those pretty patterns. Because each boss is unique, you'll need some time to get used to their attacks, trust me. You won't beat it on the first time, but - it's the pure essence of bullet-hells! So, if you like challenges (or even not) or just want to try yourself in this game's genre - it's the choice for you. I recommend this in 100%! ---------- YouTube gameplay as promised: https://youtu.be/9tm8zqvamXc
--- A Poorly Designed Touhou Clone --- From the design, menus, facilities, controls, this game doesn't hide its identity as a pretty blatant Touhou clone. Not that the fact that it's a Touhou clone made me don't like it. The reason I don't like the game is because it's badly designed. Good things to note are the game is very generous with its extend, where 1ups are simply item drops. The game drops 3 and more of them per stage. Plus, with correct settings, the game can manage to keep its 60 FPS. The lack of Vertical mode for display is disappointing, however. But it can't be helped. The game doesn't have any Replay or any sort, but the game lets you Stage Practice. Not too bad. The root of problem for this game is the Stage design and the ship itself. For one, the ship is very slow, even without using Focus (Equivalent to Laser Shot in Dodonpachi games). It will be fine if the normal shot itself is very wide, but it isn't. It makes aggressive play unviable. Secondly, the Focus shot itself. It's a lock-on type of shot and oh boy, it's impotent. It's lock-on range is very skewed to the front. the fact that this shot's power is practically the same as its main shot doesn't help, either. Not only that, the game is very stingy with Bombs. The Bomb is a charging type, similar to Ikaruga's homing lasers. But it doesn't fill quickly at all! The game fills bombs quickly with item drops, but one use of Bomb depletes all of the Bombs. That removes your defenses! The worst of all, the stage design is bland. Not cinematic, not fast, just bullet spraying with cheap enemy placement that aren't designed for a slow ship. And the bosses are even worse. They're bullet sponges with cheap bullet patterns! Especially the ones with big, long bullets without any warning what so ever! It makes the game a test of memorization. Granted, one of the keys to 1cc shmups is memorization, but making the patterns cheaply kill you is simply not fun. This game is competent as a program. It's stable, it's playable, and it doesn't crash. But might as well as playing this game as an example of how to make a badly designed shmup.
-Simple mechanics. -Simple graphics. -Simple (and cool) music. -It has very creative (and pretty) patterns. Totally recommended
Vertical bullet hell. Decent controls. Bullet grazing and cancelling mechanics. Okay presentation, graphics and audio. Stages feel a little empty. Listed on the Shoot 'em up Database
Bosses are about as balanced as a rhino on a tightrope.
Este juego se cree Radiant Silvergun o vualquier otro juego de CAVE. Se acerca, entiende las bases, pero lo visual y musical se queda atrás, pero es bueno si lo pillas de oferta o te gusta el género.
Nice Game to Play! With these three levels of difficulty the game is also accessible to novices. We could have appreciated selection and choice of different weapons. This old-school game like F-Zero will be for all the high score fools and gamers wishing to test their reflexes and abilities.
Don't ask me why.
