XENOS Defense

XENOS Defense is a "template flip", that is to say, it's a "game" that has been produced by copying a game template from GameMaker Studio, changing a few things, then dumping the barely functional "product" on Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. In this case it was a GameMaker Studio template for doing a simple top down shooter, but they added some tower defense elements to go along with it. While some effort was made in terms of game development by combining two different GameMaker Studio templates, using a game construction kit requires no game development talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. It's almost as bad as an outright asset flip. As with all games stamped out with a construction kit, there's little to no real value here to gamers, it's impossible to recommend.

Eines der schlechtesten Spiele auf Steam. Selbst wenn ihr nur die Errungenschaften wollt, dann kauft euch lieber etwas anderes. Das Spiel ist so schlecht gebalanced, dass die teuerste, also die 5. Waffe, schwächer ist, als alle anderen zuvor und das erste Level ist schwerer als das 2. und 3. Level. Zudem ist das Spiel buggy und ist eine reine Qual. Also ganz klar: Keine Kaufempfehlung. Nicht einmal, wenn es 10 Cent kosten würde. Außer ihr sammelt Trashgames (warum auch immer man das tun sollte)

Awful. The pricing for everything is incredibly broken to the point it's near impossible to continue and towers can't/shouldn't be bought unless you want to die on the 3rd wave.

Ein Meisterwerk der Geduld – und der Wiederholung Man muss den Entwicklern wirklich danken. Selten habe ich ein Spiel erlebt, das so konsequent auf Entschleunigung setzt. Während andere Games hektisch versuchen, mich zu unterhalten, gönnt mir dieses nach jeder einzelnen Wave - Runde ( 1 Wave hat 5 - 10 kleine Runden) großzügige 5–10 Sekunden Bedenkzeit. Einfach mal durchatmen. Reflektieren. Das Leben überdenken. Ein Level besteht übrigens aus etwa 10–15 Waves. Für Abwechslung ist also gesorgt – zumindest numerisch. Inhaltlich bleibt das Spiel seiner klaren Vision treu! Grafisch, Design der Aliens? Atemberaubend. Vor allem, weil man die gleichen Aliens so oft sieht, dass man irgendwann eine persönliche Bindung zu ihnen aufbaut. Man kennt sich. Man versteht sich. Man weiß genau, wer gleich wieder kommt. Und die rundenbasierten Kämpfe? Ein strategisches Feuerwerk – besonders wenn man mit den immer gleichen „Waffen-Schwertern“ gegen die immer gleichen Gegner antritt. Konstanz ist schließlich eine Tugend. Müsst ihr wissen.
