What I, Galen Anthony Gibbs, Love About WWE 2K17 Is The 2K Hall-Of-Fame Showcase For The WWE Hall-Of-Fame Class Of 2016. I Love The Fact That You Can Play Universe Mode And Cut Promos. The Creation Suite Has Never Been Better Than Ever With The Additions Of Create-A-Show & Create-A-Video. The MyCareer Mode Has Been Extremely Improved & Upgraded. This WWE 2K Arcade/Simulation Video Game Is The Bomb, Bro!!!! If Anyone Wants A WWE 2K Video Game, Then I Would Recommend This WWE 2K Video Game To Y'all. Go Buy It. Y'all Will Love It.
WWE 2K17 steps into the ring with big ambition and a strong focus on customization and in-ring action. While it refines many gameplay mechanics and offers one of the largest rosters in wrestling game history, it stumbles where it matters most: single-player content and narrative engagement. It’s a solid wrestling sandbox—but not quite the full main-event package. WWE 2K17 builds on the foundation of its predecessors, with tightened gameplay, deeper reversals, and more nuanced submissions and grapples. The addition of fighting in backstage areas and the crowd adds chaos and excitement, giving matches that unpredictable “anything can happen” feel WWE fans love. Combat is more grounded and simulation-like, requiring stamina management and well-timed reversals to win. The new Promo Engine also adds a layer of personality to rivalries, letting players cut promos during Universe Mode—a fun idea, though the system itself is stiff and overly reliant on vague dialogue trees. Where WWE 2K17 shines is in its depth of customization: -Create-a-Wrestler, Arena, Entrance, Title, and even Show options are back and better than ever. -A huge roster of over 130+ superstars, including legends, NXT stars, and modern talent, makes for endless dream match possibilities. -Community creations are robust and active, providing endless user-generated content to enhance your game. However, the biggest drawback is the lack of a proper story-driven single-player mode. The Showcase Mode is gone, and MyCareer, while present, feels shallow and disconnected—lacking the cinematic flair or depth seen in later entries. Universe Mode returns with more options for managing brands, rivalries, and title scenes. The inclusion of promo segments is a step forward, but storytelling still feels formulaic without cutscenes or dramatic presentation. It’s a great sandbox, but one that needs more narrative glue to really hook solo players. WWE 2K17 looks solid, with detailed superstar models, fluid animations, and impressive entrances. That said, some facial scans feel uneven, and clipping issues persist. Commentary remains one of the weakest aspects—repetitive, delayed, and often disconnected from the action. The soundtrack, curated by executive producer Sean “Diddy” Combs, is surprisingly diverse and energetic, even if it doesn’t feel very “WWE.” Pros: -Deep, refined in-ring mechanics -Massive, diverse roster of WWE and NXT talent -Excellent customization tools -Fun crowd and backstage brawling -Solid gameplay foundation for local multiplayer Cons: -No Showcase Mode or strong story-driven content -MyCareer mode is flat and lacks personality -Promo system is underdeveloped -Commentary and AI still need major improvements -Online modes suffer from lag and matchmaking issues WWE 2K17 is a technically sound, content-rich wrestling game that feels geared toward creators and competitive players. But with no compelling single-player narrative and a MyCareer mode that lacks spark, it misses an opportunity to emotionally connect with fans. It’s great for making your own WWE universe—but less so for living in theirs. Rating: 7/10

Positives -Despite the career mode's flaws, it's still fun -The wrestling is still spectacular Negative -There's no story-oriented gameplay -Some of the new features didn't work well Conclusion WWE 2K17 wasn't a bad game, and there's no better alternative for fans. In addition, some of the changes made this year didn't work well, and it's undeniable that a single-player campaign centered around the story is sorely lacking in the program.
THE GAME WAS A NIGHTMARE IN TERMS OF GRIND , BUT IT WASN'T BAD AT ALL
Nope they shutdown the servers to the old games a year and a day from release of the new one....... That is highway robbery right there.
