About
WTC : Recruitment Day is a very short side-story comedy/drama interactive visual novel, based on the main "Welcome To... Chichester" series, and set in a semi-fictional world of secret organisations.
It is self-contained, and so reading other episodes is not a requirement to enjoy this game.

After Grendel Jinx is mugged, she chases after the thief, determined to retrieve her possessions - and also recruit the person responsible. For once, Grendel's lack of attention to security protocols at "The Council Of The Unseen" may have prevented further problems.

Grendel Jinx is voiced by "Sarah"

3/10 WTC : Recruitment day is a side story to the WTC series with a confusing story, nonsensical achievements, and often poor grammar. My takeaway: Visual novels are my jam so I was actually pretty excited to try WTC : Recruitment Day and when I finally finished the story with all the achievements I was so extremely disappointed with the quality of the game! The character models must be drawn by different artists because none of them look like they belong in the same game, the story made no sense to me despite reading and playing it several times, and the humor is so bizarre that I spent more time trying to figure out what they meant rather than actually enjoying myself. You play a key part in a robbery story that turns into much more as you uncover the inner workings of this world’s lore. I hadn’t played the previous games, maybe I would’ve enjoyed this title more if I did, but it claims to be a standalone story and playing the other games wasn't necessary to understand what was happening. I don’t recommend this. Maybe they did a poor job explaining the world and what was happening around you or maybe the grammatical mistakes made it hard for me to comprehend what was going on but I ran through the game three times and still don’t completely understand the storyline. It just seems hastily put together and extremely short for having a price tag set on it even on sale. Pros

Game runs and the core mechanics of a VN are there!
Voice actress is great and suits the character!
Individual character models are great!
The choices, although there’s a very little amount of them, do affect the ending.
Cons

Story makes no sense.
Not much breathing room for choices.
Character models are not consistent.
Music and sound effects are poorly chosen.
Since there’s no guide on achievements it’s extremely difficult to understand how to fully complete the game.
Very short for the price tag.
Overall poor quality.
Not sure if this was lazily translated or written poorly but it’s riddled with grammatical errors that make reading this a little difficult. WTC : Recruitment Day is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which presents the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This e-book was slapped together with the godawfully bad RenPy Visual Novel/E-Book construction kit, so just like no professional writing took place here, no professional game development took place either, it's just a product of filling out templates in the construction kit. As with all the Chichster pollution/garbage, there's a woefully badly written story about secret societies and a bunch of construction kit generated anime characters used to desperately try to distract anyone from seeing any of the writing (which is craptastic). Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the pages. You'd think it was garbage. Now imagine that experience, but with much worse writing (because if these guys could write professionally, they'd be published authors and this would be on shelves in bookstores, and they wouldn't have to pay Valve to self-publish this on Steam), and you have your average Steam e-book. Don't take my word for it, either, SteamDB shows only about 10 people bothered to launch this E-Book before immediately deleting it. Top concurrent E-Book readers was a laughable 2, at launch day, probably the would-be author and his therapist. After that, it's just one person opening it briefly every month or so. Bowel cancer was more popular amongst readers than this garbage. The numbers don't lie. You can get better quality books and comics for free online or from public libraries, or from bookstores for a fraction of the price of this "game". Steam isn't a comic book store, neither is it Netflix, it's for games. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. It's impossible for me to recommend things to PC gamers that aren't really games.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
The developer has started stalking me, delivering personal attacks and is attempting to publicly cyberbully and intimidate me by posting hitpiece videos and articles. Why? Because I wrote an honest and frank assessment about an objectively bad and failed product. I'm not making that up, I'll refer to the research in my review that indicated this only ever had 2 concurrent players... it's an objective failure rejected by gamers, for the reasons I supplied in my accurate review. Certainly, the hitpieces the stalker/developer here has linked up are false and misleading, but cyberbullies don't care about facts, they just want to intimidate and silence the truth. This behavior from the developer is utterly unacceptable, and is a chilling attempt to silence the truth. Now, you can look at the objective facts of my review, and then have a look at how this reviewer is attacking and intimidating reviewers, and suddenly the overwhelming rejection of his craptastic Ren'Py asset flips makes a lot more sense. I will not be intimidated or silenced by stalkers and bullies. The facts of my review stand.
very nice
WTC: Recruitment Day is one of WTC's "short stories". Only very limited play time - a filler story between the main stories. Higher production value than usual with some animations and voice acting! WTC Recruitment Day has the highest production value of any WTC VN I've played so far. Hopefully a sign of things to come? Very short story but nice filler between the big ones. Short and funny. However going through the first game is recommended otherwise the context of the plot would be unclear.
二代玩不了,开始就崩溃,而且这游戏也确实太。。。
