World of Tanks is a tactical action game with very different gameplay depending on the vehicle type and role. Aside from regular PvP, there are competitive and clan-based modes, special PvE and PvPvE events, and much more. Whether you play to dominate or just enjoy the ride, you'll fit right in.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

About
World of Tanks offers something for everyone: Try different tactics, vehicles, and modes!
World of Tanks has a unique pace. Its armored vehicles are fast enough to draw you into the action, yet slow enough to give you time to think strategically. Good reflexes are always a plus, but it's smart and bold moves that can really turn the tide of a battle. Identify a weak spot in the enemy team's defense, move to an advantageous position at just the right moment, or ambush an opponent—and you'll feel like a champion.
The unique pace is yours to control: there are five vehicle types that each play very differently. Generally, light tanks rely on their speed and stealth, heavy tanks on their armor, and mediums on versatility. Tank destroyers (TDs) are feared damage dealers, and self-propelled guns (SPGs) hurl shells at enemies from afar, using an RTS-like view. Almost every one of the 800+ highly detailed vehicles, spread over 11 tiers and 11 nations, feels special.
Begin with classic tanks and progress toward mighty high-tier machines. Adjust their performance to better suit your unique playstyle with crew perks, equipment, and Field Modification. Top that off with visual customization: showcase each vehicle's unique flair with custom paints, styles, and a wealth of other options.
World of Tanks has received multiple and extensive upgrades to its graphics and physics since its launch in 2010. The maps feature unique landmarks and plenty of destructible objects. Vehicles get wet when in water, and they receive shell breaches from enemy rounds that penetrate, as well as pockmarks from rounds that bounce off. Guns and shell explosions have authentic, caliber-dependent sounds, and the acoustic environment is very rich, adding to immersion.
The basic mode is 15v15 Random Battles. Prominent regular modes include Onslaught (7v7 with extra special abilities), Frontline (30v30 on colossal maps with lots of tactical options such as airstrikes), and Steel Hunter (battle royale on mode-specific vehicles with field upgrades). On top of that, there are themed PvE and PvP events with unique rewards, clan-only Global Map and clan-based Strongholds, and more!
World of Tanks is hard to master but easy to learn and enjoyable from the get-go. As a rookie, learn the basics from the Bootcamp scenarios, face easier opponents in lower-tier battles, and complete the Tank Academy missions for appealing rewards. A seasoned tanker friend can get you into the Referral Program, bagging great benefits for both of you.

Been playing since 2013 or so... Game has gotten more frustrating over the years. Went from playing daily, to couple times a month, to once a year (December, because holidays and snow), to once every couple of years. Waste of time. Frustration that I've never experienced in any other game (yea it's on me to a degree, for being unable to not want to do well when RNG ruins your game). Spent so much money on this game over the 13 years, I feel bad. Way better games out there that cost less than 1 crappy tank you buy in this game.

♥♥♥♥♥♥ game for slav ♥♥♥♥♥♥s
Is this for real? Where the hell even is this game about actual pixel tank fighting? This is just a "sit in queue for almost 2 minutes" simulator. Pick a different tank... sit in queue almost two more minutes. No match? Try a different tank... sit in queue another almost 2 minutes... No match... Tries a different tier, different tank... minute and a half, still no match..... Ad infinitum. Keep this one, WG. World of Tanks USED TO BE something worthwhile. Now it just seems like World of Queue Simulator. So you'll put new players vs bots after 45 second wait and call it randoms. But the rest of us who were here years ago, went elsewhere, and now give your game another try, you choose to punish us by sitting in queue for two minutes at a time and nothing happens? I wouldn't know about steamroll defeats of lack of skill based matchmaking and getting seal clubbed: I spent more time WAITING just to get in a match than actually even getting to play. Seriously? Apparently, after waiting a full 5 minutes and getting NOTHING, you get defaulted back to the garage... piss on you, WG. Get your house in order if you want future paying customers.
awful game for new players, dont bother. its literally first 5 games against bots, then even at tier 2 youre fighing no lives with over 40k games played. good way to kill the game btw guys. a 16+ year old game being killed by noobs with over 4k hours who are too bad to play in thier own leauge that instantly tell new players to uninstall the minute they are not running meta equips or do a bad play, its called learning btw.
Под пиво пойдет.
HOW 'BOUT NO! I am not going to sit queues for 5 minutes at a time, just to get default-bumped back to the garage several times over an hour, with not a single match. Years ago, this game was something, tens of thousands of players. The linking with Steam was a nice feature, but appears too little, too late to save this. So, what is it? Is the game on "business hours" now, that a returning player can't get in the game when we actually the time? Maybe World of Tanks finally needs to invest in a worthwhile PvE mode: Warships pulls it off quite successfully, as does Wargaming's competition (even for their faults, never have much of an issue getting a pve match at all hours when pvp numbers drop into the toilet). But in the meantime, I'm not wasting a night bouncing from queues back to the garage with no battles in sight, trying to get a bunch of midtier tanks finished up I never completed years ago. This game is like one of those favorite restaurants you used to have, but left because you thought it was being managed poorly, and other places were starting to serve more attractive platters. Then one day you return to this one, remembering how good it used to be for a while, only to find out it's got a whole bunch of other issues now. Hungry for something worthwhile, and this game doesn't want to provide it. Pass.
For all my fellow atheists out there, if you're thinking that nor hell or heaven exist, trust me, you're fundamentally wrong. Devil is closer than you think and he loves adding more AI-generated tanks, ways of sucking out your money and happiness. Hell is truly there and it has a name.
Would definitely play it more but it just stutters and lags too much, I'm basically looking at Microsoft PowerPoint
