This game feels sooo not finished! You can´t even remap all control keys, at least when using keyboard and mouse it feels totally awkward to always have to hit "i" or "m" to get to the menu. But thank god you can choose which pronoun they call you, that´s really the only thing i need in a game. Sarcasm off On the first view there are many things copied from Stardew Valley, but that´s in my opinion a good thing. I was looking for the same gaming experience only in a fresh manner so to speak. But somehow something feels missing to make this game good. I will play the game some more and maybe switch my recommendation, if i judged the game unjust.

The Geek version of Stardew Valley.
I don't review EA games much, because it's often far too early to tell, if a game will get abandoned. It is not as polished, as Farmville or Stardew, not having as many minigames yet, all as you might expect. It appears to be a highly-inspired, but solo, dev game. It is the beginnings of a playable game. It's definitely very sciency, and I hope that as the crafting and tech tree fills out, that it remains fun for younger and older audiences alike. Right now, it's just for the kiddies. It's a game that does not take itself seriously, and that's probably the most promising side to it.
For Teenagers
I was going to say this game is for Girls, but it's solidly not for girls, it's not girly at all, it has an Elon Musk in it even. In between all of the fun conversations, mini-games and quests lies a lot of learning. This game does not directly teach children about science, technology and the environment, energy, sustainability, electronics or even horticulture and health. Sure, it touches on those topics by making you collect resources and recipes and by building sustainably. But it does not teach, so much as it encourages exploration into how things work, and the work that scientists and engineers do, by introducing you to them in person. But in a fun cutesy way. I took a double take when I met Hedy Lamarr, and for a minute I thought she was a gastronome character, and then it clicked. All the people are named after historic figures in STEM, or contemporary monikers in tech in some way. it's not pushy, but it is subversive, and boys should play it too. That said grown up topics are a big factor.[\b] An aim of this game is Women in Science awareness, but also Medicine/Health. Which includes grown up topics around the whole LGBTQIA+ concept of treating others with a bit of respect and animal rights too. So if gender dysphoria has not yet been a topic along with the birds and the bees, maybe have that conversation before you get this for your nephew or niece.
Watch this Space
Definitely wishlist now and get it just before it's finished. Already loads of content and things to do, but probably a dozen or more hours of playtime for a tweenager all told. Although on the upside if you do buy it now, the teens may come back to the game every few months forhe new content and get the new content all for free because you bought early and took a chance. I'm keen to see if multiplayer possibly comes to it in a working state, and what that starts to do to the game. I hope so, since so many games are multiplayer lately. Right now, it's a playable game. I'm not finished yet though, I'm still locating parts for a "killer" robot. Once I get there I'll update this review.
So, far I have played 5 hours of this game over time. It is in EA. There are quest to do, you can be friend the people, make science items, do a test on Friday nights, which, is fun. There is fishing that I have not unlocked yet, farm, take care of farm animals, and cook. There are also skills to unlock in this game. Can't wait to see what else will be added and how this story will go.
Funny take on the farming sim genre, especially for the tech oriented. Witty conversations with tech references. Some small bugs can easily be tolerated. Love the farming systems where you can get bronze/silver/gold crop and seeds, and you can have crop interaction, like pest repellent and pollinating crops near your high value crops.
This is a great game, I found it fun to an extent. Not that It's not a good game! But I found it a little detailed for me, and I like relaxed, just-for-fun stuff. Women in Science is really interesting because of all the references to real live creators, teachers, and geniuses of past (and present) scientists. If you do a little research you can find what it all means in regards. It is a science game, though, perhaps for those who lean in that direction or anyone who wants to learn a thing or two about stuff. My favorite part was matching the characters to the real people!
I have about 34 hours of game play at this time. I've had the game since May, 12, 2023. I know its not a lot of game play. But I don't game a whole lot. I've always loved farming games, and I am not a big into the story time of gamer. But I really have taking a big liking to this game. I know its super silly and probably sounds insane. But Temple is a character I so deeply resonate with. Temple has Autism, and as do I. I only got diagnosed last year. And I have been really struggling with coming to terms with it, which I won't get into too. I've never played a game before that has a character that has neurodivergent struggles. Though I am sure there are games out there. It was really nice to connect with Temple, and having the opportunity to validate this lovely character. Talk to Temple about acceptance. And having Temple share the happiness and comfort with the diagnoses. It has weirdly enough been healing for me. I love Temple a lot LOL. I also have to say I love the fact that the character Alex struggles with gender identity. And watching him transition was super cute too. I love how he is getting more and more comfortable with his found identity. I'm really proud of him and how far hes come. Not to mention he's adorable too. I love how the game really has different personalities for all the characters. More anti social types, to the more social types. The play on words and Easter eggs are really fun to discover too. I won't get too much into it because that's kinda a spoiler. But the selected animal names really crack me up. I've come to enjoy to game more and more. The art style is endearing. I love all the farming abilities, and the cooking is honestly one of my favorite parts. I love cooking and sharing with my NPC friends. I favor Temple, Alex, Albert, and Melon. I hope people will give this game a good go.
The games about to go free and people who bought it are review bombing it because their pissed other people won't have to pay for it. The game is serviceable if incomplete. And its not going to be, the creator has moved on to another project and really, making it free is the responsible thing to do rather than charge those prices for an unfinished product. Also, the company its listed under is apparently about to be dissolved and they'd have to unlist it or make it free so... No reason this cute lil game needs to fall of the face of the earth. It's a cute lil farming game about science. Modern concepts, drones, a good pair for a magic farming game (like Wylde Flowers or Sun Haven). We have a lot of those, but not many dedicated to scientific concepts. I hope other people pick up where this game left off. We need more Solar Punk-ish games in this world.
