WoMen in Science is a delightful, chill farming simulator that has a lot of potential. The game is in early access, and is still clearly a work in progress, but I see where the game is going and it's very much on its way to being a fully fleshed out game. The farming is competent and makes sense to me. You get the seeds, you plant them, take care of them, and then they grow. Easy Peasy. I love the fact that you can take the fully grown crops and turn them into more seeds rather than having to buy more each time, eating into your profits. Something that I would add would be text letting the player know how long it takes a crop to fully grow, probably somewhere on the seed information or crop progress information. I also love the idea of the genetic modifiers for the plants. It's a great idea and something that I haven't seen done too often in farming simulators. I enjoyed walking around the town and getting to meet all those who live in the town. There's a diverse cast of characters from many different cultures, identities, and attitudes. It's a nice cast of characters, many of which are based on historical figures who have their own stories to share. (I definitely learned a little scientific history myself!) For a solo dev, there is a lot of great dialogue lines, many of which are interesting, insightful, and/or funny. I'd like to see more of them in the future! The two minigames I encountered and played (quiz show and scratch coding) were fun! The quiz show is, well, a quiz show. Some of the questions are harder than others, but you can always defer to your partner if you're at a complete loss. The coding game I spent a lot of time on and played through all of the levels. All the levels make sense and are fun (even if I took some extra time on them because I was overthinking them.) I completed all 15 levels, even though the last 5 had locks on them, I was still able to play them, just not start from them from the level select screen. The technology part of the game is one that I didn't really get to during the 3.5 hours I have in the game (so far). I'm very interested in things such as the drone that waters your crops for you and the bot that will fetch items for you. Adding the technology element into the game is a great touch and is what really makes this game stand out from others in the same genre. Overall, this game is very cute, wholesome, humorous, competent, and fun! I did sort of feel like I was running out of things to do other than just increase the size and efficiency of my farm, but for some people that's where the most fun comes from! I'd like to see more quests added to the game, and a more streamlined way of starting them. (You get some from the bulletin board, and some from talking to people.) The quests I did were very fun and interesting. They weren't overly difficult and the dialogue/cutscenes for completing them were satisfying. I'd also like to see waypoints for some quests on the map (I couldn't find Albert's computer for the life of me.) If you're looking for a relaxed farming sim with representation of culture, identity, and neurodiversity, in a setting with historical scientific figures using technology to increase performance and efficiency, then this game is probably for you! Don't expect the levels of content and polish of a game like Stardew Valley quite yet (Still in early development!!) but the game is well on its way and I'm excited to revisit it after a few more updates and sink more time into it.

Still quite unsure about this but I'll play longer to see how it goes :/ I was quite hyped by the idea, but when playing the game it just felt something's off. Currently gonna rate it: 4/10 as it's just tech SV (I love SV but just felt weird)
Honestly this isn't a bad game but it's just not for me. It's rare for me to positively review something I refunded. This is just like every other farming games out there. There's no romance, but you still have the NPC friend 'meter'. There's no combat so you can just it's more of a cozy type of game play. There's a pretty decent upgrade system for plants and some other stuff. A few older reviews complain about no map but there IS a map. The dev announced they were going to make this game free and work on other projects and that upset people who previously bought the game so some of them started acting petty and gave the game negative reviews for that reason. :conwayshrug: The dev was nice enough to do a last sale for the 'game collectors' out there. In all honesty other positive reviews go into more depth about the pros and cons in this game better than I can.

I really enjoy this game i have almost everything unlocked, but for the life of me i cant figure out how to milk my cows and if i can goats. If anyone has found out how or got to that stage please let me know. I loved the fact that its Stardew Valley ish but different i just wished it had names on the buildings so you could know whats up especially when it comes to game nights. i wish things were better explained...like with milking all i saw was that they can be milked when happy. n ive had my cow n goats for ages lol.
Great game. Reminds me a bit of Stardew but adds a fun science twist. Definitely recommend
If you like Garden Paws(G P) you'll like this game. I can't wait to see what else they add to it in the future but as is it's a really enjoyable game with a similar slow build pace to G P. And how many games encourage you to steal from Melon Husk ;)
