About
New World to Discover: Start as a young, unaffiliated captain with an entire world open for exploration. Every campaign features a unique, procedurally generated map, ensuring no two games are alike.
Play Solo or Co-op: Brave the seas alone or sail with friends, the choice is yours.
Trade, Quest, or Wander: Engage in peaceful trading, take on quests for various factions, fish the seas, or dive for hidden treasures. Prefer a quieter life? You can simply sail and enjoy the open waters.
Dynamic World Impact: Towns and provinces need resources to grow. Supplying them leads to prosperity, while faction leaders will involve you in their agendas. Helping one may hinder another, and enough support can even let a faction leader take control of a province—without a single cannon being fired.

Fully Customizable Ships: Build the ship that suits your style, whether it’s a tough juggernaut that can take a beating, a quick schooner that rains fire from afar, or a support vessel keeping allies afloat. Swap out cannons for extra armor and turn your ship into a ramming juggernaut if that’s your thing.
Diverse Talent Trees: As you level up, unlock talent points to enhance Defense, Offense, or Support specializations. Each tree offers unique abilities and sub-paths, and you can mix talents across specializations to create powerful, personalized builds.
Crew & Captains: Expand your toolkit by recruiting crew, mates, and captains—each bringing their skills to your ship.

Upgrade & Expand: The gold you earn isn’t just for supplies, it’s your ticket to bigger and better ships, from nimble Schooners to powerful Frigates and versatile Brigantines. Follow storylines to unlock even more unique ships.
Forge Your Path: Whether you aim to be a feared pirate, a master trader, or a loyal faction ally, it's up to you!
Designed for Co-op: While the journey is yours, it’s even better with friends. Windward Horizon was built with co-op in mind, so bring your crew, set sail, and experience the chaotic endgame together!

There's really not much to this game. It took me 4 hours to realize it so I guess I'm outside my refund window. Don't be me. There is a teeny tiny replay loop where you do less than a total of 12 types of missions to earn xp and resources. There are a couple mini games that don't really advance any past what you see in the first 30 minutes. Every single interaction in this game left me feeling empty and wanting just more than what it could provide. It's a hollow empty shell.
too many dialogue windows I don't care about. Interface doesn't look as polished as the first game. Bought it expecting to be impressed but was let down. Put in a refund request. I know the game has a demo but I liked the first one a lot. This game isn't like the first one
If you liked the original Windward or any of the games in the general genre of open world sailing/trading/piracy than this game is a no-brainer. Obviously built with passion and love by the lead dev, does it have rough bits? Sure - but for being made mostly by a solo dev it is VERY good - reminds me of the labor of loves that Chris Sawyer made with Transport Tycoon and Roller Coaster Tycoon in that way. I've played exclusively solo and it's given me everything I would want from this type of game and then some. Bravo!
Feeling mixed and mixed rating about the game, might try to enjoy the combat to trading. felt easier to get into the first game or it's vibe. not so fan of the UI and harbors, or the starting game settings and starting experience. Also that the UI (dont remember in the first game), if this UI make things more overwhelming to use or see at first, and if starting fresh, things could be a little more limited while expanding out (or hidden and to discover) and maybe improve the content scaling. not sure about economy and features down the line, as some might be improved compared to the first game. could also be that I dislike the TPS camera instead of Overhead Camera/top-down camera view, to the more harsh textures compared to the more soft and old in windward 1. as in the first game felt more "friendly" and this game feels more "hostile" in some places. which kind of ruined my exploration vibe. also that it feels like "just another A to B" experience from the vibe, as it doesn't fully sell me the "want" to go out there. would be cool to see a small spin-off of this, with a more friendly or fun vibe, to setting up the terrain + buildings to look or feel a bit more "fun"?
Бессмысленная и очень скучная игрушка. Весь контент однообразный и быстро надоедает.
好玩 但不知道為什麼移動速度比一代來說慢太多了 雖然遊戲寫沒有中文化 但是工作坊那邊有人做了中文MOD
great way to waste a sunday while the roast is doing its thing. Story is good, not a huge fan of all the reading tho.
Have been really enjoying this game, Loved the first one, and while it still is a better game in some ways, this is also pretty enjoyable. I was initially put off Horizons when it had a pubic test or demo sometime ago as the game felt sluggish(especially after just playing the first game), and had dialog you basically had to sit through, but it has come a long way since then and the game experience for me has been great! PvE, or PvPvE, the game blends age of sail naval combat into a fun relatively fast paced arcade arena style combat that is easy to get into and have a blast with! It's simple controls, but deep trade, and gear/item systems, story dialog for each faction, the game offers a little for story players, traders, and blood thirsty seadogs! The game even has the holy trinity system with a XP/Leveling system for points that can be spent on Tank, DPS, and Support abilities and buffs to complement your ship gear build. While not a perfect successor to the first game, it is an enjoyable title regardless. In my opinion worth the asking price if you enjoy arcade styled naval combat games, and a steal on sale. Playable Solo, Coop, or with PvP it has something for everyone!
