Really fun and easy going card game. Fun on its own and perfect introduction to card games for kids. If you're an adult and of the psychedelic kind I bet it'd be super fun while microdosing something fun, too
Can't believe this game is free. It's a cute card game where you have to get through a table top kinda board and it's actually really hard. I got my first real win after like 7 tries, but it was also really fun. When I first saw this I didn't believe that it would actually be challenging but it is haha I like this a lot and am going to try to get all the achievements
pretty simple game. love some of the combinations/inspirations this game pulls from. only found 1/2 small bugs around the UI but games awesome and worth a couple dollars.
I'm currently doing a challenge to play through a free game in every single category on steam. I then give an honest review using ChatGPT.
Game: 80 / 447 Category: Turn-Based Combat "A Promising Paws-and-Claws Adventure" This turn-based roguelike lets you step into the paws of a cat wizard, summoning pets to battle alongside you in a card-based combat system. The gameplay is well thought out, and the mechanics work smoothly, even if the battles are a bit slow and lacking in visual flair. The core systems are solid, but the menus could use some love. Items and navigation options can be hard to find or poorly explained, which disrupts the flow of the game. With better menu design and some extra polish, this could easily become a standout free-to-play experience. If you’re a fan of deckbuilders and quirky concepts, it’s worth a try—especially since it won’t cost you a thing!
WildFront is a roguelike deck-builder arena with a cutesy theme and a unique twist: players not only collect cards and relics but can also recruit and command monsters. You start with a basic deck and are able to tune the deck and your possible monsters to build a variety of different win conditions. Like any good roguelike, WildFront thrives on replayability. The procedurally generated map means each run offers new paths, encounters, and challenges. Between the randomness of card draws, monster recruitments, and relic combinations, no two runs feel alike. However, the game isn’t without its difficulties. The early stages can feel punishing as you navigate limited deck options and face unpredictable enemy combinations. Mastering the synergies between your cards, relics, and monsters takes time, and the learning curve might deter less patient players.

This one really surprised me - it's fun and very challenging. The bosses are *hard* - this game does not pull its punches! Each run plays smoothly and quickly. It took me a couple of runs to really figure out the mechanics, but now I'm getting better. You can have up to three minions at a time; what I like most is the game doesn't waste your resources. If you replace a minion with another, you are given the option to sell the old one and get something in return for the bargain. The same goes for artifacts and consumables (of which there are many). There are few restrictions; you can play a consumable at any time, even outside of combat. Unlocking new minions is unique - you can portion off some of your winnings into a fund that you can use between runs to make new minions available at the start of all future runs. So far I've unlocked 5 minions, and there are (I think) 20 more to go. There are cards and other ways to summon minions in a run that aren't yet unlocked and that is a blast since it gives a preview of minions that I can unlock later. I haven't won a run yet but I count that as a very good thing. I'd much rather a card-like be too hard than too easy.
Underrated, reminds me of slay the spire
