Don't spend your time on this game. It has bugs that prevent you from acquiring certain beards, meaning you cannot complete it without workarounds and you can never 100% it. The game also has plenty of other bugs, issues, and annoyances.
Bugs
1) You can't get some of the beards, blocking normal progression. One of these beards is the Van Dy ke beard. It used to drop after a special battle with police. See playthrough video here (1:28:00). However, they removed battles from the game in an update in August 2021. The update says that beards that were acquired through battle can instead now be purchased at Red's store (the store to the right outside of your Home apartment building), but that is false. Note that the walkthrough guide on Steam is also wrong about this. 2) At some point, accessing the map caused the game to become unresponsive. That meant I couldn't use quick travel and had to walk everywhere for the rest of the game. I stopped being able to access the map the day after
I had gone to the slums as doggo. I don't know if that always happens or not. The day ended when I had yet to contact Michael, so maybe that is related.
3) Once my character got stuck after walking between areas on the map and couldn't move. I tried to access the menu to jump to the next day, but I also couldn't access the menu! When I tried reloading, my character was still stuck, but I was luckily able to access the menu. I guess if that hadn't worked, I still could have just waited until curfew and that hopefully would've also worked. 4) Awful performance. The game often stutters for several seconds when transitioning between scenes or even when dismissing menus. 5) While cleaning someone's apartment, the game wouldn't let me proceed after I placed an item incorrectly. I had to quit and reload my save. (Someone else also had commented running into this bug on the guide on Steam). 6) There are various sequence breaks that the game doesn't handle well. For example, the game started telling me to find some information I had already found. Or it told me not to enter a house that I had already entered previously. 7) There doesn't seem to be any purpose to gifting people things? Gifts don't seem to raise affection to a sufficient level. Gifting is used as a mechanic for a few special items and sidequests, but that could be done without this whole useless system. 8) NPCs and cars can appear in incorrect locations, though this never caused any real issues. 9) When accessing the elevator, the game would also usually select the second floor. It seems really sensitive about the action button.
Issues and Annoyances
- The game's high-level plot was fine, but the writing and characters were lacking. Not a single memorable character or interaction. - Good: You can hold down a button to speed up scenes. Bad: It is annoying that you have to hold it down because you'll be wanting to do it all the time. - The opening of the game is awful. -- You're forced to watch a 45 second long security cam footage in which nothing happens. -- When you initially go to pick up an item, you're told you can't without a bag. Now I thought that meant I needed to go find a bag, but NOOO, you just get one automatically a little later in the scene. So why not just let players pick it up?! - There's no way to run. - On my laptop keyboard, the arrow keys are directly below the Shift button. Shift is the button to access the menu. So I frequently accidentally hit the Shift key. - There is a one scene that is repeated every day. Good: It acts as a convenient place to easily interact with all named NPCs. You can also choose to skip it entirely if you want. Bad: if you don't skip it entirely, you are forced to watch a 45 second scene.
Incomplete ideas?
The game seems to have some incomplete ideas. - No resolution on Troy (guy passed out in apartment room). - Numerous phone numbers are mentioned, but you never call any of them. Examples include: service line for the broken beard reader on Troy's apartment, various signs and bulletin boards. - Unopened mail is outside most of the apartments. Why? - The gifting and affection mechanics.
Cute, very specific humour.
Been playing this game nonstop for over an hour now and it is fantastic! The funny dialogue, witty humor, amazing music and artwork are such joys to experience and the unique story is very gripping! I took a short break to help spread the word on it but cannot wait to jump back in and continue the story. I wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone who likes a little mystery and comedy wrapped in one package!
Good game but you need patience to play it. It keeps freezing and that makes you have to shut down the game and restart at your last save.
This is an amusing little game based on an absurd premise. The characters are distinct, the mechanics are fun and it doesn't overstay it's welcome.
I'm sad to give this a negative review. I like the strange setting, the story, and the quests. But the combat system is so frustrating as to be completely unplayable. If you fail a combat, it lets you retry... and I've retried many combats 20 or 30 times over. It's just exasperating.
I just tried this out because I like RGPSs, and so far it's funny and mysterious. I laughed a few times already. I recommend if you are into this genre.
super gostoso e intrigante
I just finished playing this game & I really enjoyed it. I think the storyline was fun and I also loved the humor in it.
