Not a bad game. PROS: -Quirky and funny at times -Feels fun to use the superpowers CONS: -Even though the idea of not being damaged but rather being silenced/stunned by enemies is innovative, I think it could be implemented better, many times felt infuriating rather than fun. -The art is so simplistic that it gets boring (subjective) and repetitive. -
Pros: Fun/colorful art style. Entertaining dialog. Full xbox controller support. Simple/intuitive controls. Took a few tries to beat some bosses. Con: Very short. Has a way of continually punishing you if you mess up.

i wish this game was longer i remember playing it on the psp god i loved it and it's even better on the pc this definitly needs it's own cartoon or show!
This is a nice basic shoot 'em up in a 2D realm that honestly looks good in screenshots and some video clips. Playing the game is a different story on the matter. As someone who has played a lot of shooters like this, it's really simple in design and easy to get into. What grinds my gears over this game is the god awful loading times it has. Like, 10+ seconds every loading screen! That's just unacceptable to have in a game that looks like this and you'd think everything would load easily. It doesn't. Secondly, I've used a controller, which is easier to play this game with but we have preferences and it couldn't have killed the developer to swap control signals in-game from keyboard to controller maps? There was a part in a level where you have to take on big worm-like aliens and you're to hold CTRL and rapidly press space. I figured out that LB is CTRL but I couldn't find it on my controller where the SPACE button was replaced with. It was no where. The game still showed me the images for the keyboard controls, but not the control pad buttons for some reason. Did this game expect me to play it with two different control configurations at the same time? Seems like a half-assed execution if I ever saw one. Between the load times, the obscure control mappings and it's mediocre take on shoot 'em ups, I can't recommend this.
This is a short but very enjoyable shoot-em-up with an original and interesting mechanic: You don't lose health or a life when you touch enemies, and you can even destroy the black ravager enemies by touching them... But if they manage to cross the left side of the screen, your "city health" starts decreasing. If it gets to zero, you lose. Also, enemies can slow you down with their attacks, but not kill you. I really liked this game! The gameplay was very enjoyable to me, and the game also has a challenge mode you can unlock by beating the main campaign. If you like shoot-em-up games, definitely get this one, even at full price!
I really like the art style, the Hero, and the cute simple story. But the game play is a mess. I am glad this studio went on to make Fall guys but this is just not fun.
Full review: https://thegamehoard.com/2025/05/02/picking-up-steam-whos-that-flying-pc/ The city protection angle of Who’s That Flying?! makes for an interesting horizontal shooter but not a particularly deep one, because while taking out every little Ravager that comes your way is key to keeping the world safe, your own attacks are often a bit too good at repelling those simple foes. It’s not that tough to keep them at bay much of the time, but at least the larger foes and bosses do make you work a bit more and the challenges can sometimes muster up moments that make your weapons more interesting than the simple enjoyment of being temporarily stronger.
