White Noise Online

Genuinely a well designed game, and also extremely nostalgic.

I remember playing this back on the 360 back when I couldn't play Slender way back then, good times. But good lord what is this audio design? Not only am I restricted to percentages of 10 and have no option to tweak the audio to a reasonable level, but I feel like the 10% volume is the default for other horror games yet still loud, meanwhile the default 50% of this game is like the max for other games, and honestly I would not be surprised if 100% volume just gives you military-grade tinnitus. Decent game with alright game-play and concept, but the game is too damn loud.

This game had a great pace going for it with copying slenderman and making it multiplayer, the music is fused together with the tape audio which get's progressively harder with the creature chasing after you while the music get's progressively louder, the game posts progress for wins on each map and number of tapes found, the game punishes you, and honestly the worst feature of the game is how you can't split up and cover more ground to find the 8 tapes faster, 3 player games are a nightmare because of this "it's too dangerous to go alone" feature and kills immersion right next to audio blasting you in the face when you find more and more tapes why you can't mute this audio? god only knows. The game get's unreasonably hard at 7 tapes found unless you have a photographic memory and simply know all the map layouts. 4 Reasons why i recommend against white noise: 1.) Audio i can't mute that blasts my ears so... why do this again? lol 2.) Multiplayer invite button doesn't work. 3.) The public multiplayer is dead unless you privately play with friends, luckily this game is between $1-$4 and white noise 2 looks and plays slightly better but the mechanics will drill a hole in your head unless you dominate investigators as the creature yourself, either way the multiplayer is still dead for both games. 4.) The game forces you to die if you go alone if you split-up in 2 or 3 player games... why do this again? it's killing my immersion and nobody can cover more ground because of it unless it's 4 player only, 4 player games you can start splitting up and covering more ground, but if anybody dies GOD FORBID.

I wonderful game from my childhood. It basically was my first horror game I actively played back on the 360 indie games selection. It still holds up enough for me to say that it still works, it still is fun, even if I'm still inherently terrible at it.
