About
Whispers of the Village is an investigation game where you play as a fortune teller. As you enter a small village, you are overwhelmed by a terrible vision of the village ravaged by flames. Thanks to your divination skills, which tells you the future through tea leaves, you'll find clues in empty cups that will help you understand how the disaster will happen.
Atypical and captivating characters:
Meet four villagers who come to your caravan every day to talk and drink tea. The four days leading to the disaster will lead you to grow closer to them, and discover more of their stories, personalities and secrets...
Play as a tasseomancer :
You will have to find clues in the villagers' tea leaves through a series of shape matches. Each shape has its own meaning, and each combination and positioning of shapes must be interpreted to understand what is happening and will happen in the village.
Take notes:
In your trusty notebook, you can record information obtained from your discussions with your visitors. This could be about their work, their relationships, or the predictions you've made for them.
And solve the investigation:
Use stamps depicting the four villagers, as well as actions and objects. Place these stamps on drawings representing the different places in your vision to create sentences explaining the events to come. Once you've matched the right stamps with the right drawings, and put the drawings back into chronological order, the mystery surrounding the disaster will be solved.
This Game include:
4 characters who will open up to you as you progress.
A captivating story that will take you deeper into the hearts of your visitors.
A calm and cosy atmosphere in your caravan, despite the looming disaster.
24 puzzles to help you solve and understand the mystery.
2 hours of immersive play and reading.

I tried playing this game because it looked cute and seemed interesting. Unfortunately, the game is unplayable. The art is great and the music is fitting, but I couldn't even get past the first villager because it seems like all of the clickable buttons don't line up. There also seems to be this weird invisible border down the right hand side of the game that stops the mouse from moving to the edge of the screen. I was disappointed that I couldn't play this game as the premise looks very interesting. I hope the developer releases a patch to fix some of these issues because I would very much like to play the game.

This looks cute with great music, but I am unable to click on anything and can't get through the first scene.
I love the concept of this game, but I can't actually play it because I have 486 MB display memory. You can't lower any of the display settings. I got to the first tea cup when I realized that using the mouse is vital to game play, and the lag makes the game unplayable for me. It definitely seems like a game I'd like, so thumbs up! (Plus, it's free.)
The captivating art style and emotive characters in Whispers of the Village truly make it shine. While the fortune-telling mechanic presents a neat concept, its current implementation faces a critical visual occlusion issue. Presently, placed symbols result in complete visual obscuration of underlying elements. Integrating alpha blending or employing render pass modifications for layer desaturation/dimming on lower layers would significantly enhance legibility, ensuring all stacked symbols remain discernible. Furthermore, a dynamically triggered UI element presenting a general interpretation or synthesized phrase derived from the combined three-symbol input would be crucial for establishing player comprehension and enhancing engagement with this core gameplay mechanic.
I had the opportunity to see the evolution of the game over the development and I'm really impressed by how much it reaches its objectives: It's a really nice short narrative experience that'll give you time to investigate, build up theories and try to read those characters through their visits. Of course you can see flaws through integration, small UI bugs, a little harsh onboarding but nothing that prevents you follow the whole story.
Writing seemed solid, and art style is charming. Sadly, the game was not functional. I got soft-locked at the tea stage. Where I clicked did not line up with the guide on screen. I could drag two obvious shapes into the tea after some guessing on where to click, but the game did not progress, and I had no feedback to whether I needed to do something more with my two fortunes. Other issues exist, too. Such as the text displaying as BBCode first, and updating. Hoping these final issues can be patched up, because it seems to me there is a good game here being held back by some small bugs and polish.
Got the game a while agon when i had only my laptop with me. Thought the issues why i can't get through the first scene might be because of my too weak device. But now i'm trying it on my (for this game totally overpowered) PC and can't even get through the load-screen without a fatal error. The game is just not playable at all. I don't get the 80% of other writers who give this game a thumb up while telling you that they experience the exactly same bugs as i do and can't actually play the game at all.
