6/10 Discover the story of this ancient ruin. What is it: A short puzzle game, with multiple subtypes of puzzles. There are 7 levels, as in levels of a building, and each one must be rebuilt and deciphered. The first half of the game you're going up, and on each level you must first solve a sliding puzzle, then a partial cryptogram. Once you reach the top, you start going down, solving a harder sliding puzzle, and a harder partial cryptogram. The easy sliding puzzle involves reconstructing a block from different fragments by choosing one of the available moves to apply to each fragment, like "move this part down, then move this part down and left then move this part right and down". Once you do that, you'll get two sentences, one in the regular Latin alphabet, and under it the same phrase but with a few letters in a different alphabet (Cyrillic), and the goal is to map the two alphabets, figuring out which Cyrillic letter corresponds to each Latin letter. The harder sliding puzzle involves only one piece, but this time it's in a maze which you must navigate. The harder cryptogram now has two different foreign alphabets (Hebrew and Greek I think). Overall I enjoyed the puzzles, not too hard but not too easy either, but they were too few. The game implementation isn't that great, though. The navigation is cumbersome, the game is a bit too slow, there's no undo, only a slow reset. No keyboard controls, drag&drop mouse only. How hard is it: Mostly easy, only the last level is getting slightly harder. How long is it: 7x4 levels, can be done in about 30 minutes if you don't get stuck on the last level. Level design: Good enough. Quality: Basic. The contents is decent, but too short, but the wrapping is lacking. Worth the price: It's free, grab it. Most positive aspect for me: Interesting sliding puzzles. Most negative aspect for me: Too short. What would make it better: Faster movement, faster transitions. An easier to read presentation, the thin and small letters on the stone graphic is hard to read. Add achievements and cloud saves. Improve the menus and navigation. Add support for keyboard/controller. Two thumbs up! This puzzle game has it all: codes, sokoban, ciphers, mazes, and a storyline of biblical proportions, all for the incredibly cheap price of free. If you enjoy puzzle games, cryptograms, sokoban or those various HOG minigames, then you can't go wrong here: for the amazingly low price of free, you get an hour of mini (5 or 6 piece) Jigsaw puzzles, where the trick is figuring out the order of sliding the pieces into position. Then you do some Cryptograms and Sokoban, and it's over; a game that doesn't wear out its welcome! Plus you learn some interesting speculation about biblical mythology and the Tower of Babel. I don't judge. Except this game, which I give 2 thumbs up!
I really liked this puzzle game, we would have liked more levels and game mechanics, but that is enough in the end. It also lacks the possibility of undo during the game, as well as a full screen mode. Apart from that, the realization is very clean and the music pleasant. It's a good game to play in about 45 minutes.
I’d probably go with a mixed review if I could. It’s not terrible, but it could use an undo feature and there’s only a handful of levels. This is a really short puzzle game. I finished the whole game in about an hour. I feel indifferent, but I’ll go with a thumbs up because it’s free.
Yes.
