I kept my first homestead small on purpose, and that ended up making the design more interesting. A short stone path, two low walls, and a few plants near the door did more for the place than the giant mansion layout I tried before it. I like that the result still looks like something a player actually made, not a showroom build. The small mistakes make it easier to recognize as mine. What I like most is that it does not look like a showroom build. The path is a little too narrow, one wall is probably placed badly, and the plants are doing a lot of work to hide my mistakes. That makes it feel more like something I actually made over several sessions instead of a perfect display house. I also like that the build leaves room for future changes. It feels like a place I am slowly learning rather than a project I finished in one clean pass.
