Wonderful!
Fun puzzle game mechanics, pretty atmosphere, story could use some editing to be more clear but overall you can piece together what happens.
WCF is a beautiful puzzler which mixes a little bit of platforming with a quite unique puzzle mechanic revolving around card buildings, which evolves throughout the game with new type of cards and some variations in the environment. The overall atmosphere feels good and the shuffling sensation when you move / draw cards is quite on point. The difficulty curve grows steadily while never getting prohibitive (and there's a hint system which is pretty helpful). The main downside of WFC is, I think, the story: too obscure! Something about growth and choices... and the main character is an architect or something, but I could never fully grasp what was going on... this affects a bit the whole experience, because the "real world" behind the game always stays behind compared to the dreamworld-like atmosphere of the levels. Also, controls a bit clunky at times, especially when climbing the houses' roofs. But nothing game-breaking. Ultimately, I recommend WCF to whoever loves an original puzzle! Just be a bit patient with controls and don't sweat too much in getting the story right!
Where Cards Fall is not about spotting the location of landing cards but setting up card towers as a method of solving puzzles. The game was fun but a bit short. Sound design was relaxed and the puzzles were appropriately challenging. There were a few bugs that caused hard level resets. The game is 100% linear with no secrets I could find. Nice play on a rainy day. Could use a touch more QA. Pros 52 puzzles with gently introduced mechanics Pretty unique puzzle idea, the first time I have encountered it anyway Relaxed atmosphere Hint button that is there but not nagging you to use it Cons -Pretty short, I completed the game in about 4 hours -The narrative was okay, mostly following around a person as they think about their past. No words -just the language of the sims. -Some mechanics stopped working and I had to reset puzzles twice because of this. -Walking up slopes was clunky and I had to switch between control schemes several times. -You get all achievements from playing start to finish, but they did not correlate with my actions -No form of fishing I 100% the game without glitches, I used the hint function a couple times while stuck.
its a small simple game that has iOS/Apple style all over it. It looks like it was built up to be a mobile game much like monument valley I wonder why this isnt getting more attention? its very polished. The challenges are mostly easy but some are a bit challenging, at least for me. About the story, I dont care for story at all, since I dont think videogames are a good medium for telling stories, unless they look exactly like movies. But from what I could grasp, its all about ditching your black power friend for your other two white friends that happen to be a couple. Then the second they break up you latch on the girl like the sucker you are. Meanwhile there's a cool wall she-ghost that checks on you now and then. Ah, you also slowly improve your art skills as time goes by.
Positives: Simple puzzles. Fun to play. The game finished too soon for me. Downsides: The story is difficult to follow (although the game works okay even without it). The story could be better tied in to the puzzles themselves.
